[attr="class","ohlove"] [attr="class","lacking"] [attr="class","eyes"]✎ tag: Link , Midna , Princess Zelda , @open (Hylian Knight) ✉ notes: the crescendo begins, may institute a timed thing ala bosses both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. She still hadn't showed. That was problematic. Was she seriously going to pick this time, now of all times to vanish and make him look like an ass? Oooooh boy he was going to give her what for. Really, what was taking her so long? As he and the princess moved down into the great hall where Link would be waiting, he found himself growing just slightly nervous. There was some information that he didn't fully have. If forced, he'd tell Zelda everything, but he felt it would be best for Midna to talk on that front. Jace had remarked that he was going to go get the shield he had made for this occasion! Apparently the idea of saying no was something that none of them ever considered. Really, Alex found that one a bit strange. What if Link actually just turned it all down. Well, it would be quite the scandal, and it'd probably shock Zelda. Alex himself had already managed to pull that off by swearing. Such a delicate flower apparently.
The Great Hall was brightly lit as always. The chandelier and braziers providing a source of comfort, warmth, and light. The place was secure, of course it would be. Guards lined the area, and of course, the guest of honor had already been ushered in. There he was, with the blond hair and the face that could steal the heart of any girl if he'd figure it out. Shooting Zelda a look indicating that he'd be ready whenever she was, he waltzed on over to the Hylian survivor, sword sheathed at his side, staff in his hand. Survivor, yes, that word filled Alex with some amount of satisfaction. There was a face that he knew that had managed to come out of Ordon alive. He wondered if others would begin pouring in? He wondered about the boy that he'd had that spat with before he left. Had that Colin made it out too?
Alex for his part, definitely seemed happy. He just needed for the imp to hurry the fuck up already. "So what'd you do to get inside? I attempted to kill our beloved princess with a napkin, you?" He recalled the incident. Her guards had been ready to kill him over a napkin. It was dangerous, but it seemed to be paying off. But to be invited to see Zelda beforehand! Well, this Link had certainly been busy. It also seemed that the man the fae had been looking for was a lot closer than expected. Perhaps those two would be able to catch up when all of this was over. He hadn't expected an official summons to arrive that morning. It came shortly after his training session, which now included a blue-haired fae who conversed with him from dawn until mid morn. The hundred questions she asked (including a request to bring back a souvenir) were handled with the patience that some saints would envy, and when at last he set out on his trusty stead, she flew alongside him until he reached the field. If it were for a joyous visit to kill time, he would have simply invited her to accompany him. An adventure for another time.
Dressed in a simple green tunic, white leggings, sturdy brown boots, and a blue traveler's cloak, he looked nothing like what a person who visited the castle for an official summons should. And yet, they saw him in with guarded expressions that put him on edge, mostly because he couldn't tell if it was worry or sympathy they were keeping close to their chest.
A familiar face framed by blond hair relaxed him only a fraction. Link stood tall with his back straight and hands held behind him, a ghost of a smile on his lips. "Pulled over for steering my horse wrong," he replied lightly. Because, really, why was he there? And who in the world would have thought Alex was serious with the napkin jibe? MADE BY ★MEULK

Midna had her reasons for being late. Though she wasn't really late, she was just being extra cautious. Alex was one of the few people she had come across and it was to be expected that she was a bit on edge. She hid in his shadow as he made his way with Zelda and into the large room where another was waiting.
The imp could tell it was bright, and that just wouldn't do. Light hurt... natural light did, at least. But she still much prefered the dark, or at least dimmer than they were.
But... perhaps she shouldn't keep them all waiting. Midna hesitantly appeared now, though she had moved to a more shaded part of the room. She was mostly in shadow except for the glow of her red eyes. They landed on Alex. "Could someone turn down these lights?" she requested, "I'm much too sensitive~"

SO SAY THE WORD AND I'LL BE RUNNING BACK TO FIND YOU Whispers whirled within the wide expanse of the castle grounds. One that piqued the curiosity of a Hylian Knight. Servants passing by making mention of visitors they’ve never seen before arriving who have official business with her Highness, Princess Zelda. There was no way Seyka was going to miss out on this. She ‘graciously’ volunteered to take over one of the guard’s duties and attend the meeting about to take place. Somebody had to be there to protect the Princess while business is taking place. While the castle itself was heavily guarded in itself, Seyka wanted to make sure someone as at her Highness' side. She strolled through the corridors with no issue until she stumbled into the Great Hall. Bright eyes flickered back and forth at the sight of unfamiliar faces lounging within the vicinity. “My, my… We have quite a diverse cast of company today,” the greenette mused as she revealed her presence within the group. Her eyes then flickered over to the most out of place of the individuals: the imp who was within shadows avoiding any reach the light had. How curious~ Seeing as no harm was coming or anybody going at arms with any of the individuals in the room, Seyka nodded her head. She took a good minute or two to lower the curtains down from the windows closest to their meeting area. Giving enough breathing room to say the least. “I hope this is adequate? I would do the rest… but that’s a lot of room to cover. Oh yeah, where are my manners. Welcome to Hyrule Castle~” A poised smile appearing. tag: Alexander Elessar, Link, Midna, Princess Zeldanotes: Order up! A big smile graced Zelda's face as she overheard Alexander's remark, followed by something that sounded intentionally absurd from Link. Ah yes, the peculiar witticisms of the hero's class. According to every romance novel she'd ever read, she was in good hands. Zelda stopped for a moment to question that thought. ...Weird. Reality usually didn't parody her books like that. Well, she supposed writers had to get their inspiration from somewhere. Clearly, these heroes just happened to be rather story esque. ...And picturesque. Yet, even with these strapping young men around, she found that it was the oddest one out that drew her attention. Red eyes, a plea for an end to the light. She wasn't certain she enjoyed the symbolism there, but she knew better than to think of it as a slight aimed at herself. To her surprise though, a young woman had already taken it upon herself to answer that request without ever having been asked! --Huh! Someone was seeking Zelda's approval, and far be it from her to play hard to get.
"You have my thanks for making our guests more comfortable, Lady Rozengale." Zelda off-handedly remarked in contentment, offering the other an inviting smile of acknowledgment. ...Huh. Apparently, she knew her guard's names. That or the reputation of Seyka's lineage preceded her.
Shifting to address those few gathered, Zelda's gaze swept across them as she spoke. Her gaze settled on Link after a moment or two. "I would like to extend to you my welcome and invite you to join me in my throne room. However, I have not yet had the pleasure of being properly introduced to all of you. ...My name is Princess Zelda of the Kingdom of Hyrule, and I'd very much like to briefly correct that before we move on." |

[attr="class","ohlove"] both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. He backed off a bit, giving everyone a bit to introduce each other. He'd start with himself naturally. "Alexander Elessar, Warden and guide of Princess Midna, Sovereign of the Twilight Realm." He indicated with a tilt of his head over to the imp in the room. From there, he remained quiet so everyone would know everyone's names at least. No need to be rude about all this. Besides, it would be good for Midna to know some other Light Realmers besides him. Give her something to base an opinion off of. He still needed to meet a Twili other than Fress, as according to her, they weren't all like that. He figured it would be inevitable after all of this though.
He contained the sense of satisfaction. His job was just about done. They would get the full aid of the crown, and whatever was haunting this land would feel the full might of the two realms. Let's see if it would survive that! But, he looked at the way to the Throne Room, nodding. "If I'm right, then the way to the Throne Room will take us through broad daylight." While for the majority of them, it was a nonexistent issue, but for one of them, well. "Midna." He remarked. He figured she'd get what he meant; get in his shadow... or someone else's, he figured. Things were about to get bright.
When it was time to move, he followed behind the Princess. He was here first, so he could be right there with a certain lovely knight. Up the winding path they went in daylight, the morning sun bearing down on all of them. Today was going to be a beautiful day, he could tell. Well, was being the keyword here. At about three-fourths of the way up, he noticed the spread of the black sludge through the city. His face paled, something was going on here, something exceptionally horrible. Would it spread to the castle? That would be another problem as he heard the clashing of blades and distant screaming up ahead. Something was going on there too?
He shot a look at Zelda, then Seyka, and then to Link. This wasn't just him right? No, no it wasn't. And then things got worse. The sludge, or the figures formed from it, began to come together. A large reptilian creature, thought to have only existed in the Black Lands and the tales of the world was formed, roaring out something. "Gods above..." He breathed. His mouth hung open in awe and admittedly, fear. They had nothing to fight a dragon. A dragon hadn't been here in thousands of years. What in the hell were they going to do? He looked ahead to the throne room. So they were stuck between a dragon and whatever the fuck was going on there. Going down would just leave them open to the dragon, after they had come this high up. An easy target that they had no answer against. It was a suicidal endeavor.
So that just left the rock.
His pace picked up, breaking into a full on sprint. "We're sitting ducks out here, we need to get to the throne room, now!" He shouted. They needed to get out of this area. This was a terrible spot to be in and simply going back would endanger them further. One sweep from that dragon and they were all dead. All it had to do was notice them, and there was nothing they could do. A well aimed gust to throw them all to their deaths, or a fire so hot not even the Gorons could ignore it along the walls to incinerate them all. They could manage the throne room hopefully, but it had to be a better option than the dragon. Alex rushed ahead, aiming to open the door to the throne room and get them to safety. Even before the grand doors leading to the Throne Room had opened, the screams of men could be heard echoing from within. A Hylian Knight scrambled from a side passage into the Great Hall, hands coated in blood and barely able to catch his breath. "P-Princess Zelda!" he unintentionally shouted, talking a moment to calm down his breath before continuing, "There's trouble! Someone has infiltrated the castle and been killing-" before he could finish, the screams of more men echoed from within the Throne Room. They were pained screams, mixed with gurgles of liquid as they were silenced. The Knights attending the doors took up their arms and shoved the doors open with their shoulders, the rest in the Great Hall taking up a defensive formation in front of the Queen and her guests. To those being protected, it was clearly visible that the legs on those knights were trembling with fear, but they held firm in their coward's bravery. As the great doors revealed the room beyond, the scene was one of carnage. A small woman in a bright blue dress and shining silver armor, removing a glowing golden sword from the abdomen of Hylian Knight, before kicking his convulsing body to the ground. Despite the blood spraying from his body, none of it seemed to land on her, and even her sword seemed to be almost perfectly clean. However, the room was not so pristine. Numerous Hylian Knights lie dead or dying around the chamber in various states of death and dismemberment; decapitation, cleaving in half, arms removed, legs removed, there was no consistency in method. Some even appeared to just die from their neck being slit, though it did not appear as the kind of precision work her larger sword could manage. Golden eyes did not show any emotion as the body before her spilled its blood into a pool at her feet. Another group of Hylian Knights came from one of the numerous open-air passage ways leading into the Throne Room, a design that perhaps the architects were regretting when they redid the castle in hindsight. The sword that was previously held in one hand was grasped by two as the golden glow seemed to explode in brightness, enough to make a certain Twili cringe and possibly singe by sheer proximity. She raised the sword above her head before bringing it down in a powerful swing, sending that light rushing forth in a brilliant blast. It was enough to not only destroy the Hylian Knights caught in it, but to destroy the stone home of the Throne, numerous support pillars of the Throne Room, and inflict further damage on areas of the castle caught in its blast. It eventually fizzled out before breaking out of the bounds of the Castle thankfully, but everything in its wake would not be so thankful. Portions of the throne room collapsed, letting more sunlight in and portions of the stained glass above shattering, pieces falling into the pools of blood from those that were not disintegrated in the blast of light. And yet the girl remained completely unharmed. From the dust of the chaos she emerged unscathed, armored greaves echoing through the Throne Room as she made her way to the destroyed Throne. It was only then that she recognized that the doors had opened, due to the clattering of a sword from one of the Hylian Knights forming a wall between her and the thing she came here for. "Greetings, Princess Zelda. Or, should I call this one Queen?" the woman spoke to those in view, her tone that of a perfect knight but laced in loathing at the mere mention of Zelda and her titles, "You'd think the Royal Family would not name their heirs after the victim of murder, but...that ego is something that doesn't change even after a century." her gaze met Zelda's, and all those present could practically taste the murderous intent that permeated the air mixed with the scent of blood. She stood upon the wreckage of the throne and let her blade rest for a moment, one hand atop the pommel as she surveyed the others at the door. It stopped for a long moment on Link, a brief flicker of disgust flashing across her face. "Even he couldn't help but let his ego get to him it seems, despite my best efforts."MORRIGAN VITALIS LIGHTBRINGER "My name is Morrigan Vitalis. In the name of a new, brighter Hyrule, I will bring the revolution to its completion."Morrigan took the hilt of her sword in both hands as the glow intensified once more, and with one swing an even larger blast than before fired directly at the group at the door. One could just see Zelda's body tense as she began to observe what was going on. There were just... so many things that really deserved a good scream right about now. First of all, the thought that Midna was in danger freaked her right out. You didn't just invite foreign royalty into your castle and make excuses when they got killed. That was a war waiting to happen and she wasn't having it. The second thing that choked the breath from her lungs was all of the death. People were dying in the distance. Her people were dying in front of her! Her throne room was being desecrated with the blood of her people! Zelda's thoughts were smothered by an overwhelming tide of shock and horror in the form of a deafening internal scream.
...She couldn't accept this.
Morrigan readying her blade was the catalyst to snap her out of it. For a moment it had looked like she just might stand there and take the blast, frozen like a deer in headlights. However, she very abruptly seemed to regain some of her senses and turned to address a previous concern. Reaching out and grabbing Midna's arm, something she frankly wouldn't have even considered doing in just about any other situation, Zelda promptly pulled the smaller imp girl to her and quickly spirited them both out of the way of the incoming blast by rushing inside the throne room. Zelda did not stop until she reached a corner. They had some light cover from the pillars, but something told her this cover wouldn't actually protect them when it came down to it. Perhaps, however, it could still be used as a distraction. If they couldn't be seen, they were less likely to be seen as an immediate threat. It was with sickening disdain, then, that Zelda abruptly realized this wouldn't work.
...This was an assassination attempt. Morrigan was here for her life. She was a priority.
The arm holding onto Midna was trembling somewhat violently. Zelda wasn't doing a very good job of hiding the fact that she was emotionally falling to pieces. "...I'm sorry." the hyrulian princess softly remarked to Midna, releasing her and making a point to step away. Standing too close to the others would just put them in danger. She fully expected to be targeted regardless of what she did, and so she resigned herself to not trying to hide. Stepping forward, she moved to confront Morrigan with a tear stained face and a drawn blade. She'd intended to use the royal long sword to knight a hero today, but instead, it was being used to condemn an usurper. Carefully avoiding the debris on the ground, Zelda began a slow approach to Morrigan with her blade at the ready. She was carefully observing the other, her intention more to play it defensively and provoke an attack she could deal with instead of trying to overwhelm the other with a more reckless approach. Somehow, she didn't see that latter idea going well for her. With any luck, an opportunity to more safely strike the other would present itself if she were patient. |

[attr="class","ohlove"] both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. The door opened and everything went to hell. Death everywhere. Those who were here for the ceremony had been butchered, and yet this woman remained completely pristine. Not a speck on her. Morrigan Vitalis, a revolution. What? What had happened? A victim of murder? Alex spared a glance at the princess, was she being targeted for assassination? That was it wasn't it? This was an assassination attempt! They were stuck between a clearly talented fighter and a dragon. Still, he'd take the woman. It was only when he saw that golden sword glow with an enormous amount of power that he considered that maybe the dragon would've been a better option.
As the blast of light barreled towards Alexander he looked gobsmacked. "Shit!" He roared as he got out of the way, sidling against the wall... right as the dragon came within only a few yards of them, leaving only as the blast of light nearly hit it. That thing was going to kill them wasn't it? "So, we have a choice; we're either screwed," He pointed at the throne room, "Or we're fucked." He pointed at the dragon. "Me, I'm picking screwed. Anyone else?" Really, he was not fighting the fucking dragon. Things had gone to hell so fast.
But Zelda had apparently ran in with Midna in tow, making that decision for him. "What in the mother FUCK are you doing?!" He roared as the Princess rushed in and seemed to approach Morrigan. She was going to get killed! He unsheathed his sword, the blade already glowing blue. His staff heated up as he turned the corner and fired off the fireball, following it up with the beam from his Magic Sword. He needed to keep her from firing that shit again before they could get inside. As it was, all she had to do was adjust her aim to kill them. Once they could get in and surround her, things could start turning around. "Go!" He shouted. "Rozengale, get between them and stall! Link, get Midna out of here and get back here!" And realizing this was going to be chaos, rushed in to try and distract Morrigan.
They needed to cooperate, get together, and act as one. Close the distance with Zelda, and keep Morrigan away from her. SO SAY THE WORD AND I'LL BE RUNNING BACK TO FIND YOU At first, Seyka had been pleased with a big smile on her face as she did what she could to help the Princess make her guests feel more welcomed. “I am pleased I could palliate the circumstance anyway I can, your Highness.” In reply to the thanks, the Hylian Knight gave a soft bow before the monarch then proceeded to travel with the group to the Throne Room. As the walk to the destination progressed, the excitement she once felt quickly slipped into wave after wave of dread and foreboding. First, she saw the dragon made of inky shadows and darkness making a mess within Castle Town. People running away in terror. Bodies litered the cobblestone streets of those fallen from the beast’s might. The second thing she saw was chaos taking place within the Throne Room. A knight running towards the group to try and warn them of an intruder then a blast could be heard. “Brave Farore…” she uttered softly. Never in her life had she seen so much bloodshed and destruction take once in one fell swoop. What was going on? “My… my comrades. They’re dying. This can't be happening. No… No, no, no!”Seyka immediately drew out her longsword and Hylian Shield. Her feet taking her as fast as she could towards the source. It was a woman in the throne room. Golden hair and matching eyes clad in armor ready for a fight. A sword in her hands that was unearthly in nature. What is the meaning behind all of this? Bright eyes widened at the sudden recklessness Zelda had made. “Wait! My lady- No!!”The greenette quickly jumped out of the way of the incoming blast of radiant light aimed at them. She felt small rubble from the blast clanged against her armor, but she brushed it aside. No, her objective was clear. She rushed forward into the Throne Room. She gave Alexander a quick nod acknowledging that she heard his words. The moment her Hylian Shield was strapped onto her arm it began to glow with a soft light. She instantly got between Morrigan and Princess Zelda and Princess Midna. She was the bulwark. Shield and sword at the ready as she stared down the intruder. “You speak down towards my princess about ego yet you’re the one so audaciously invading our home! You patronize my lady of wrongdoings when there is no proof to be had. You’re spilling the blood of innocent,” she said with a soft, seething rage, “This isn’t a revolution! He hadn't expected some things to happen, yet one of them he did.
The first thing he hadn't was the appearance of the imp, a strange creature that looked nothing like he had seen, and he'd seen some very peculiar things as of late. What was she? Where had she come from? The timing and chance to inquire, sadly, never arrived, and it became too late before he knew it. That didn't meant the silent question went unanswered, mostly on part of the warden. Princess Midna of the Twilight Realm. ...the what?
The second thing he hadn't expected was for everything to quickly go to hell during the move to the throne room. Clanging from metal on metal, screams from the terrified and the injured, a majestically horrifying dragon in the skies, and a room filled with the remains of many lives laid to waste by one individual.
The third thing he had expected, as pitiful as it felt in the wake of the moment, was the official announcement of who the brunette was. Zelda, Princess of Hyrule. He had wanted to thank her for many days now for what she did in Ordon, even if a certain red-clad man viewed her in a less kindly fashion for her well-timed retreat.
"I'm sorry, your highness." Those words were the prequel to Link bodily picking up Midna after people separated to dodge the blow and Alex instructed him to, tucking the imp close to his chest in order to shield her from the light. He backed away, prepared fully to use his form to guard her from any stray attack that came her way. Keeping his voice low while retreating a fair distance, he spoke quietly. "Is there a place for you to hide?"
It'd be too bright for her just about anywhere. Zelda had two others currently working on keeping her from harm; he could focus on the visiting royal for a short time.
Something bothered him, though. The woman's name - Morrigan Vitalis - why did it, and the look she gave him, linger in his mind so? So many nights had been spent passing the hours lost in book after book. Had he come across it in one of his pages? Or was it one of those feelings he had been getting a lot lately, a strange nagging that prodded at his very soul? MADE BY ★MEULK

Midna could handle being manhandled, especially by a certain blonde-haired blue-eyed Hylian boy~ Just who was that? She had never met him and yet her heart skipped a beat as he held her close to his chest~ Unlike a certain someone whom she almost choked because he grabbed her. Ew~
JK WAGA HAHAHA.
Arrangements were made to make her feel more comfortable and for tat, she had to quirk a brow. They were... welcoming a Twili. She thought it a little odd, but there were many things she foud odd about the Light Realm. She had just taken a small hovering step away from the shadows when suddenly all hell broke loose and she was being swung away like a ragdoll.
Just once, she could maybe forgive. But she was not a child, nor was she a toy! Zelda had ushered her away from the bladed woman but she still followed. Next thing she knew, she was being grabbed again and engulfed by a warm chest.
When asked if she had somewhere to hide, Midna nodded and quickly sank into the ground. Link's shadow now looked like the imp herself. "Do what you need to do, but I can't help with the light!" she shouted. She wanted to help, and she would, but that was definitely an obstacle.

[/b] The round will reset 48 hours from now. THERE IS NO POSTING ORDER, BUT YOU MAY POST ONLY ONCE BEFORE THE BOSS. This is not a boss fight you want to strike out on. Even moreso than usual.
While the honored guests and royalty were able to evade the blast, the Hylian Knights attempting to defend them were not so fortunate. In the chaos that immediately followed the attack, as the royalty and guests moved to defend themselves and strike back against their attacker, the Hylian Knights were scrambling into an attack formation that only some of them actually knew, while some were trying to get out of the way and thus getting in each other's ways. Thus, with no aid, the knights took a direct hit from the blast, and not a trace of them was left. Perhaps the flecks of dust visible in the sun's rays as the blast tore through what little castle was there were them. Or perhaps they were brought to the embrace of the Light Spirits that protected Hyrule so. The knights serving the light, made men by the light, undone by the light.
Alex's fireball and beam seemed to go almost unnoticed by Morrigan, her gaze not moving from the approaching Zelda and vanguard Seyka. It seemed they might find purchase! Until the fireball seemed to collide with an invisible force that caused it to bend for a moment before fading from existence. The beam, while not stopped by the same force, missed its mark as she tilted her body ever so slightly for the beam to graze passed her armor and strike at the stone behind her. The two that appeared to be her primary targets had her full attention, though even then there were no obvious openings in her guard. For what it was worth though, she was not raising her blade to unleash another devastating attack yet. The damage caused by the blast took a moment to really show, as the walls around the previously-present great doors to the Throne Room began collapsing, blocking much of the way out. It wasn't impossible to leave, but it would require climbing over the wreckage of stone to reach the stairs, assuming those weren't caught as well. A bit difficult to tell from their current angle. For Link's efforts, he would be met with reminders of multiple sorts. The echoes of the words of the Deku King floated to mind: "It is good to see you looking so well, my friend. I feared you would never heal after..." "Morrigan..." "I apologize, young master, for a moment, I...". And the name Vitalis, while having a long lineage of Knighthood tracing back even into the Hylian Knights of yore, was conspicuously absent from the pages of Knight history for a period after the Hylian-Gerudo Civil War. "The Civil War one hundred years ago is your proof. That entire war could have been avoided. The Hylian Nobility that fund and made up much of the Hylian Knights refused to accept the Gerudo, and it came to bloodshed. Over water and shelter. Over basic survival needs. Because even Princess Zelda and your precious Hero of Time refused to move beyond their Goddess Given Superiority. Even now the Knights are not a symbol of peace, they are a mockery of justice. Bumbling fools that could not save their Princess one hundred years ago, and they cannot save their Princess now." the anger in Morrigan's voice was clear. Her head moved with her emotion, and for all watching there was a glimpse of something. Her ears appeared to be human ears at first sight, but the movement of her hair told another story. The scarring and poor curve of the ears made it clear that she had at one point had longer ears, but cut part of them off to make them appear human. She was not a human; she was a Hylian. "Your princess allowed Ordon to be destroyed, instead of staying to defend it. She made no effort to stop the carnage at Kakariko, letting it be leveled a second time in a century. Word travels quickly in this kingdom. I do not even need to act to demonstrate the evils of your Hylian royalty and their unwillingness to protect their own people. That is why the Knights' Revolution happened. That is why Snowpeak is no longer the grand training hall it once was. That is why," she raised her golden blade to point it directly at Zelda, "this sword has already claimed the life of Zelda before," It was a little known fact what became of the Princess known as Zelda and the legendary Hero of Time after the civil war and the incident with Ganondorf. She had died long before her time, and even lesser known fact was that she was assassinated. The current Zelda would be the only one that knew, and even that was knowledge just recently granted to her as the coronation drew closer. "Why even your Hero of Time couldn't kill me in his prime. But back then, with just a small contingent, it was not enough to show the masses the folly of this kingdom. So I will do it now, as a one-knight army."She began to slowly approach the green-haired knight, grip tight with one hand upon her sword, eyes fixated on her target. The echoing of her greaves softened the closer she got, and for those paying attention, the very bottoms of her feet were beginning to fade from sight entirely in a small aura of blue and red flames. "You wish for me to go through you to get to your Princess." Morrigan spoke, and took one large stride to close the gap between her and Seyka. And not only did she close the gap, she quite literally passed through Seyka. The points of contact appeared as blue and red flames, though they did not burn. In fact, Seyka would feel a great chill pass through her, sending unnatural shivers up her spine. Consider her bluff called. Morrigan's blade went into motion immediately as she emerged from the other side of the knight, aiming for a powerful horizontal slash across Zelda's abdomen. It was swift, efficient, powerful; there would be no time for even the knight to intervene before it would be too late. This was a challenge to the Princess. [attr="class","ohlove"] both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. Wow. There was... a lot... he didn't know. A civil war, a rebellion, an assassination. The Zelda that lived during the Hero of Time had been killed? By Morrigan Vitalis? A war over basic needs, and a condemnation of the Princess that they all held dear. What a horrible thing to say, and while he admitted he disliked some of Zelda's actions, he also understood that ultimately, she was their best hope at running this kingdom. She was too valuable to risk; not without an heir. That name though, that surname. Gods above, how in the world would she react to this?
And was he hearing that right? Kakariko was gone? His hometown completely wiped out?
When Morrigan began to talk, Alex didn't stand there and listen. He continued to listen, certainly, but he was already moving. Silently sheating his blade as Morrigan continued talking, he slowly slipped around to keep from drawing her gaze due to any sudden movements. He rested his staff in the crook of his arm to keep from making as much noise as he could. He looked at the group in front of Morrigan, shaking his head and telling them not to give him away with a look. Reaching into his vest, he pulled out a bottle, and in that bottle, was a fairy. If what she was saying was true, then well, this might even the odds just a little. If she was really dead, then she would have had an incredible advantage.
He was about to close the distance between the group, only a few feet away when Morrigan moved. And then she rushed through Seyka, confirming it beyond any doubt. Morrigan Vitalis was a ghost. A spirit from beyond. This should work then. Dropping the staff as panic began to grip him, he motioned for Seyka to get out of the way. He ripped the cork off the bottle before hurling it at Morrigan. The answer was obvious; she was far more powerful in death than she was in life, so the answer was to drag her back to life, and force her to play by the same rules as everyone else.
He just hoped it'd close the gap.
As he closed the distance, he prayed that Zelda could parry this one slash. That's all he needed for this to work. He could feel it. "Midna! Left arm!" He shouted, pulling out his hunting knife and flipping it to his left hand, he moved behind Morrigan, attempting to grab her (hopefully now living) right arm holding that blade to keep her from using it, praying it wouldn't just phase through. His left arm attempted to run the knife across her throat in one swift motion, in an attempt to slit her throat while making a move to grasp her arm, all in one swift motion. He hoped Midna would get the clue, and attempt to grab Morrigan's left arm with that hair of hers.
Of course, if she could fight the Hero of Time to a stand still, well, there was no telling if he could even hold her for long. He looked at Zelda before saying two words. "Do it!" He called as he made his attempted slash. He had some height on Morrigan, plenty to avoid the vitals and pierce Morrigan's hopefully. Hopefully if Zelda didn't, at least Link or Seyka would. Good of the realm, and all that.

Due to being banished to a whole other realm, Midna was clueless about the history of Hyrule. Maybe someday in the future, if there was one, someone could clue her in. Her studies about Hyrule had always been interesting; bitter, but interesting. Now was not the time for her mind to run off on a tangent, however. She slipped from Link's shadow to Alex's shadow, wanting to be the first to help him should something happen. He was moving toward the woman, which made Midna a bit tense. He was not going to be any help to her if he were dead!
But swiftly he moved, attempting to latch onto her arm. As he shouted her name, she immediately knew what to do. There'd be no way Morrigan could use her sword if she was being held back. There'd be no more distance closed between her and the Princess, whom also needed to stay alive if she'd be any help to the Twili...
Sprouting from the shadow in a quick flash of orange, Midna's hair shot out as a hand and reached for Morrigan's left arm. She was lucky she could do such a thing. Restraining someone normally with her imp form would have been terribly difficult, but that psychokinesis of hers sure did come in handy!
