The area with the densest woods in all of Hyrule. Its thick canopy creates a dark and foreboding atmosphere that allows darker creatures to grow and thrive in the shadows. Several areas are covered in a poisonous gas that causes one to pass out should they inhale it. A source of light is almost necessary, as the canopy allows little to no light to get through. Despite being in a temperate kingdom, it may be more accurate to say that Faron Woods is more akin to a rain forest. |

The Kokiri themselves live in houses carved from massive tree stumps, guarded by the sentient Great Deku Tree, a massive tree that dominates the view wherever one looks. |

The Deku's swamp is the best defense the Deku has. Filled with colossal insects and octoroks, it is rife with disease and much that makes traversing it difficult for anyone but the light weight Deku who do not have to worry about sinking. Some of the pools of water have become so stagnant that they have also become poisonous, and can be fatal if stayed in for too long. Beware the purple water! |
