This Boss Fight is officially concluded! The goal was not victory for the party, but survival. So good job! You didn't even have anybody get a strike, so there's a No Strike BONUS! Now, for placement: That's right! Everyone gets the Major Bonus! This Boss fight was intentionally much harder, and you still pulled through it with zero casualties and a surprisingly low damage total with good coordination and teamwork. Give yourselves a pat on the back. Or get someone else to do it for you. Either or. Now, for those of you that want dramatic cutscenes, there's a bit more to this thread than just the ending~
So not only had the situation gone in such a way that not even Morrigan could've predicted with this girl, but now the one person Morrigan never wished to see decided to finally show up. Fashionably late as always. A century still wasn't enough time for him to get that right. Her body fell to the ground as the spikes were disintegrated by the arrow of light, a couple more coughs of blood into the already red swamp as she tried to prop herself up using the lance. However, it's size was too unwieldy to serve as a good prop, and she could feel the strength leaving her body. "Assuming there's anything left of me to throw in your precious mirror, Link." It was hard to tell if the spat words came from distaste or the literal blood she was spitting up. As the rest of the group began making their way out of the room, Morrigan made no attempt to chase them. It would take everything she had left, which wasn't much admittedly, to just try to take this girl down with her. Her sword appeared in her off hand to prop herself up with, the Hero of Time probably realizing instantly why she had brought out the lance. It was a miracle the sword was still in one piece. Numerous chunks of the blade were completely gone, the two edges of the blade barely keeping it together. It was still stained in the blood of Zelda, but it's glow was extinguished. It was a testament to the materials that forged it that it could still be used as a prop with how little of its blade remained. "As for the lance...well my sword can't really be used in this state. This girl's blood splatters do more damage than your precious Fairy Sword ever could."As the broken knight shakily rose to her feet, lance pointed at the ground and sword now a glorified walking stick, she still stood defiantly before the monster in front of them. Her dress was more red than blue at this point, her shining silver armored covered in blood and liquid from the swamp, and anybody else would assume she was merely a corpse. Funny, she's alive for the first time in a hundred years and is put right back on the cusp of death not even an hour later. Oh well, may be this time she'd actually accomplish the goal in front of her. "Furnace is dry. Spent most of it on the new Zelda and Link. History repeats itself after all." Morrigan attempted to point the lance at Nimue, but couldn't raise it with her one arm. Reaffirming her foot placement, she let her ruined sword drop into the swamp, moving both arms to the lance. She was able to raise its point to aim at Nimue, though not much else. Her eyes were focused and her expression filled with determination, but her body spoke of how weakened she was. It didn't seem like this was just from bleeding and damage though. There was something else to her fatigue. The Hero of Time would know what it meant from her words. "If you happen to have one of those little green potions, I'll be more useful." She remembered how damned resourceful this guy could be. Always had something. Only reason their fights ever lasted as long as they did. She hated him, and she knew he was useful. She, more than anybody, understood exactly what his capabilities were. So she hoped he didn't try to take this monster on alone. [/ul][/div][/blockquote] M O R R I G A N

He remarked. He'd long stopped bothering with things like energy. "You wouldn't be having this problem if you were still dead." Why would he bottle that stuff? As long as he was able to keep his form, retain his identity and his connection to the other side, he had no worries about such trivial things. Still, "Mind explaining that one?" He couldn't help but hide some sense of twisted amusement. The Hero of Time was considered a paragon by everyone, and indeed he lived up to it mostly, but even he found some sense of sadistic glee in watching Morrigan in this state. Of course, he knew better than anyone how well deserved it was. "I'll keep her down with the arrows then, just keep running her through as long as you can." He'd figure something out when she expired. It was inevitable at this point and he doubted she'd make it through the fight. He'd just have to figure out how to deal with Nimue before that. "I've already killed her several times, but hopefully that regeneration factor of hers has a limit." He thought back to his fight with her in Ordon. Maybe if they blew her away entirely this would work. A pity that such an option had been lost to them. He snapped his fingers, watching as a blue crystal appeared around Morrigan. It wouldn't restore her, but it would buy her some time while they went to town on this girl. The arrow appeared nocked to the bow, glowing with a glorious golden light. "Go." He remarked, loosing the shot, aiming it right at Nimue to try and keep her down again. [/ul][/div][/blockquote] T H E

Nimue finally got her answer to that question when the man mentioned killing her several times before. She couldn't remember any person specifically doing that, but she did remember the wolf that ripped out her throat quite a few times on the way from Ordon. And if she remembered correctly... When the light arrow fired from the bow, she immediately sank down into the swamp, vanishing into its depths before the arrow struck. Around the duo, several paper thin giants of shadow appeared, six total. Though their bodies were thin, each stood tall enough to reach what was once the ceiling of the throne room before it collapsed, their bases buried beneath the surface of the swamp. Their arms lashed out at duo, all simultaneous yet none of them interfering with the other. Though they couldn't break through the spell cast over Morrigan, whether they'd hit Link was a different question. As if to make Link's life worse, twenty thin tendrils came from the swamp below, all intent on entangling him and binding him. And attached to those tendrils was the body of Nimue emerging from the swamp behind him, a predatory smile on her lips as she sought to finally get a bite out of the wolf that had taken so many bites out of her already. It was only fair, right~? "Lemme have a taste, I'm curious what wolf tastes like~"[/ul][/div][/blockquote] T H E Y

was Morrigan's explanation of the mortality question. That was another thing that bothered her about Link back then; he always had a few bottled fairies on him. She could never understand or agree with the entire industry. It was pretty much slavery, but worse. At least slaves didn't get stuffed in bottles. Still, that was about all the time they could afford for any open banter or hostility. As the stun from the light arrow wore off on the girl, Morrigan readied her lance as best she could. His plan was probably the best they had. Even she didn't know if this lance would endure whatever corrosive effect this girl had. Given it's origins, may be, but that was still questionable. If this girl could destroy even the lance though, there was nothing to stop her from destroying all of Hyrule. It was honestly a question Morrigan almost feared to ask, but it would inevitably come up in this battle. It felt like that question would answer if they could even beat her. A familiar blue diamond manifested around her body. Even Link knew she was more useful still around than completely dead against this girl. That was some reassurance. No doubt the hero's ego had grown some from his obvious superiority in their positions, but glad he still had some reason in him. She prepared to charge at the girl with the lance once more following the arrow, but she vanished again into the swamp. Then six creatures spawned from its depths. They looked similar to the dress, but were their own entities. And they all struck out at once. While the diamond protected her, it did not shield him. Bringing the lance to bear, its body began to glow with a pure white glow, the light then rotating around the body of the lance as she used it to cut through the base of one of the beasts. The light of the lance was able to burn it as its body fell to the swamp it was born from, slowly burning away with a white glow infringing on it. Bringing the lance around again, she used it to deflect some of the attacks from the shadow giants, managing to throw two more of them off their course. She couldn't reach the other three in time, not in her current state. That was when the tendrils appeared around Link, and the girl began to emerge. Using the energy from the lance, she tore through a portion of the tendrils attempting to surround and grab him, hopefully enough to give him a way out. She trusted him to notice the opening, if he even needed it. She was basically just supporting him at this point. She didn't want to risk the girl eating the lance quite yet. He remarked to Nimue. Bending his knees, he leapt into the air, far higher than a regular person should have gone. But the boots on his feet, with two little wings on each one, gave it away. And if that didn't somehow, the glowing aura beneath them should have also made it obvious. Pulling back the string of his Hero's Bow, he let loose several Light Arrows, dwarfing Zelda's, upon the eyes of the beasts. Perhaps if he could take out all the eyes in one shot that would be enough. The spell of the Hover Boots wore off and he began his slow descent to the ground, aiming one last arrow at Nimue as he glanced from Morrigan to the swamp. How long did the Lightbringer have? came the disappointed sigh from Nimue as the man rejected any attempt at conversation. The beasts were shot with light arrows and their masses sank down into the swamp as the light burned at them. The last arrow was fired at Nimue, though this time a mass of sludge from the swamp emerged as a wall, blocking the arrow. The sludge itself was scattered by the blast, back to the swamp it hailed from, but it was enough to keep the arrow from striking Nimue. Those arrows were annoying. Something needed to be done about those. Something also had to be done about the knight girl, which apparently couldn't be hurt? That blue diamond was weird and annoying. How was she to deal with these two~? Well, wait, she had an idea. Six fresh Shadow Giants emerged from the swamp, all of their attacks focused on the slowly descending man with the bow. In addition, two massive arms emerged from the swamp, intending to grab the man out of the air. Meanwhile, with a flick of her wrist, three gaseous waves of black and red energy struck out at Morrigan. While they impacted harmlessly on the barrier, the barrier began to flicker some, hinting at the end of the spell soon. Link knew that wasn't supposed to happen yet. She made no effort to dodge the attack thrown her way, but when it impacted on the barrier, the latter began to flicker. Not yet. Morrigan was all too familiar with the timing of this spell, she knew how long it lasted. It was failing too soon. Whatever that attack was, it was affecting the magic itself. Was that the intent, or just a byproduct? It didn't matter. She had to do something soon. She had only a brief window of reprieve left. Thoughts raced as her fighting instincts tried to guide her through this. She had very few options; no magical energy left in her body, very little stamina, and thanks to being revived and then brutally impaled her body was severely injured. She would not last long. Her only saving grace was the lance she clutched in both hands as if it was her very life. In this case, it was. It was the only weapon she had that even posed any kind of chance of doing something to this woman given its origins. If even this failed, well, she didn't really have anything else she could do. So, might as well make the most of it. Taking advantage of the lack of attention on her from the girl directly and the last moments of the barrier, Morrigan charged the woman directly. As the barrier finally faded from existence, she thrust the lance forward, light energy and the body of the lance itself piercing through her torso. It seemed that the light burned at the dress, though it fought that burning with constant regeneration. She didn't remove the lance though. "NOW!" she shouted, hoping the impalement would keep the girl from dodging whatever attack Link could throw at her. They needed to end this quickly.
