SO SAY THE WORD AND I'LL BE RUNNING BACK TO FIND YOU This information was brand new to Seyka. As a woman in a position of nobility, history was something she took great pride in studying, recording and ensuring they were preserved. Yet there was nothing entailing the meticulous details slewed from the ardent knight hell-bent on assassinating the Princess. It was lamentable what had transpired, indeed, but this was a new era. A generation where the people and the princess must build the foundation of being better than those of the past. “Where is the justice of accusing the present with the sins of the past? Why must this resort to violence to seek solace? Or even a concord?” She gritted the words through her teeth. She couldn’t stomach all of the besmirch being thrown across the crumbling throne room. To the proud Hylian Knights she strived to become a member of. To the Princess who was trying her hardest to rule the kingdom. To the missing pieces this woman proclaimed in the name of revenge against the grievances of years long ago but there was not even the slightest chance that maybe this could be sorted out without resorted to carnage. But it seemed like words were not an option. “Your faith in the potential of the people and Hyrule’s future regrettably has died. It seems the sword was the only thing you're intent on listening to. So be it!”She turned her resolve into iron knowing this won’t be easy. Maybe she wouldn’t stand a chance against Morrigan but Seyka couldn’t back down now. What she didn’t expect, however, was the woman actually phasing right through the greenette. It felt as if ice had been injected straight into her bones. Her eyes widened quickly jumping to the conclusion. A spirit! Then she finally saw Alexander as he moved from his original post. Had he been moving during the entire conversation? No matter! She jumped out of the way of an incoming bottle as the container was aimed at Morrigan. A fairy?!Seyka didn’t waste any time rushing to join the fray. Rushing forward, she quickly saw the formation happening and pulled her sword back before moving to the side. Alexander and Midna were trying to subdue her. No time to waste! Using the momentum of her stride, she swung her blade in order to attempt a slash at Morrigan at her left side. If she was a fool, then she was going to believe she was a fool who has yet to realize her potential... but she was not going to stand and take the mockery of a spirit of the distant past. tag: WAGA ARU G, Alexander Elessar, Link, Midna, Princess Zeldanotes: I literally made a Paladin Sey. That's right - hadn't the Deku King mumbled the name Morrigan? During that time, the aged ruler spoke of several odd things that he, in the midst of Dieter's promotion and his own integration, didn't ponder on for too long. But he had that night, wondering what he could have meant. His natural curiosity and desire to figure things out tore at the recesses of his mind, yet there hadn't been time to seek a formal audience with the ruler of the dekus.
If he made it out alive, he'd force time itself to allow him, if needed.
His shadow taking on the form on an imp, her and Alex working together, Seyka lunging at the left side of Morrigan, and Zelda in position to hopefully parry the directed attack--everything moved so quickly to subdue the threat. Drawing his blade (well, sort of his blade, he still needed to return it to Keldric whenever the chance arouse), he threw his body into an attack directed at the phanton's right side to cover the area that the Hylian Knight would be unable to do on her own.
Bile rose in the back of his throat even as he did so. The fact was, Morrigan looked humanesque. She may have been a memory of the past, but in that moment, she seemed every bit of a leaving, breathing person as he did. She didn't appear to be some monstrous beast or a training dummy. She didn't appear to be like the threats that occasionally roamed the woods--
A wolf with golden fur and eyes that pierced right through him. Had that been a sign of caution for the future?
--she just looked like a... a young woman. Combined with the stench of blood and death in the air, he battled to keep his gorge in tact. How far a young farmer from the ruins of Ordon had come in such a short time.
A knight. Isn't that what the phantom was? Then, perhaps, there might be a glimmer of reason.
"Morrigan Vitalis," Link said, but he didn't expect an answer at the end of things, especially if Alex's blade struck true. "Why have you come now? What is your purpose in this?" MADE BY ★MEULK

Zelda just sort of full-body cringed when Alexander started shouting at her. She'd probably have taken objection to being spoken to that way, but really she wasn't about to let some questionable manners distract her from the imminent threat of death in front of her. That and she couldn't really form words right now, and so acknowledging Alexander was a lost cause. Taking her eyes off Morrigan for a moment could potentially get her killed after all. Speaking of her eyes, though, there was something far more distracting to her at that moment than a crass choice of words.
...She really wished she could stop crying right about now, but her eyes had turned traitor. She was half-blind and no matter how much she tried to control herself the tears wouldn't stop coming! Now was the time for righteous fury, not heartbreak! But, somehow, her anger--deep as the ocean and unrelenting as the tides--was not strong enough snuff out the despair in her heart. She wasn't strong enough. Even her sword arm was trembling as she moved in to avenge the fallen. What was she actually going to accomplish in her current state? This was already a disaster. Her rule was turning into a disaster. Failure was beginning to become a theme and she didn't know when it was going to stop. She had no confidence that now was that time.
And then, Seyka rushed to her rescue. The princess was decidedly startled by this. Every muscle in her body clenched with anxiety and she pre-emptively winced as the mental image of Seyka getting cut down right in front of her passed through her mind. This really wasn't the time for a hylian shield and frankly she didn't want one. Not now, when 'taking a hit' was such a hopeless endeavor. Of all the things she didn't expect, it was... a rousing defense of her character? Zelda took a moment to catch her breath, quietly listening to one of her knights speak on her behalf. This distraction, and the lecture that followed, bought her something she didn't expect to have: time. In a battle where retreat simply wasn't an option and cover was worthless, she had respite--and that meant she had time to try and wrestle better control over her emotions. This would do. She just hoped Seyka would live long enough for her to properly thank the other for standing up for her when she could not. She was a bit choked up, y'see.
Speaking of maybe living to see another day, was Morrigan some sort of immortal? That was pretty interesting to Zelda in all honesty. She kinda wanted to get in on this eternal youth and beauty thing Morrigan had going on. ...Then again, it might be a bit much to hope for to receive such a gift without some sort of price. She silently resolved to give a bit more credence when people brought the subject of eternal life up in the future and left it at that for now.
Zelda was spooked pretty hard when Morrigan phased straight through Seyka and came after her. Oh sweet, merciful goddesses what in the twilight realm was going on?! Zelda nearly squealed in alarm, but only managed a sharp gasp as she was forced to defend herself. There were a few problems with that. Who was to say that Morrigan's blade wouldn't just pass through hers as her entire body, armor and all, did Seyka? Could she even hurt Morrigan with this blade? Luckily, her gut told her to try anyway. Zelda shifted both hands onto her blade and maneuvered it to catch Moriggan's blade with a loud crack. Thankfully, Morrigan's choice to go quick and efficient had made it easier for Zelda to parry her cut without hurting herself. For the brief moment their blades met Zelda would look deep into Morrigan's eyes. One of her eyes was half-closed in a sort of wince; it was unclear if it was the tears bothering her eyes or a premature reaction to a worst case scenario. More than just anguish though, her eyes held another secret in them. They widened slightly in recognition. Zelda had just noticed Alexander approaching Morrigan from behind. She wasn't certain what he was doing, but she saw an opportunity there.
Throwing her strength into rebuffing Morrigan's advance, Zelda stepped forward and leveraged her weight to parry Morrigan's blade wide aside and create an opening--not for herself, having just performed a heavy-handed maneuver, but for her allies. With any luck, she'd prove to be a very effective distraction. Zelda promptly stepped back instead of trying to follow up in anticipation of a possible counter attack. Better to have some breathing room if Alexander failed at... whatever he was doing.
It quickly became apparent to Zelda, though, that Morrigan was being grappled with. From behind, from her left, from her right--and Sey had maneuvered to once again take her front. Boxed in, with no way for Zelda to really get a sword in without getting in the way.
Except, there was one direction left unaccounted for.
Zelda shifted to toss her sword high into the air above the group, just kinda throwing it an invisible enemy in the wake of the ruined roof. it was a pretty bizarre gesture, all things considered. One might even describe it as stupid--up until the blade abruptly stopped and began to levitate in mid-air.
"I wasn't counting on the hero anyway..." Zelda softly remarked in a rather bitter tone, not taking kindly to his legacy being used to intimidate her. One could observe her quickly maneuvering an invisible grip in her hands and the airborne sword twisting in tandem until it pointed directly down at Morrigan. Zelda was now using a two-handed reverse grip nearby. Drawing her arms above her head, she promptly attempted to drive the blade into the ground--or rather that was what it looked like she was doing nearby. In reality, she was telekinetically guiding her sword down into Morrigan with all the strength she could muster. Specifically, she was attempting to impale Morrigan straight down through her heart--or her skull if she couldn't manage that. She'd take what she could get really. The important part was taking advantage of the lack of room for dodging to deliver a lethally precise strike from above. |

Though Zelda did move to parry the attack, it was not as weak as she thought. While her two-handed grip would indeed stop the attack from breaking through her guard, it did not stop a shock of force from running up both arms from the impact. Not enough to cause any damage, but she'd probably notice it the moment the adrenaline wore off. Whether Morrigan heard the bottle Alex threw and refuse to take action, or simply missed it, was hard to tell, but either way the fairy found its mark. The small glowing ball emerged from the discarded bottle and spent the power contained in its body. A momentary wave passed over Morrigan, enough to distract her as she suddenly had a plethora of new sensations pass through her. The fairy seemed to luck out, as it flew off out of the throne room and into the great unknown. That momentary distraction was enough for everyone to move into place. Alex moved up behind Morrigan and managed to grab her right arm just above the elbow. Midna's double-team assault managed to grab the majority of the left arm, if only due to the hand's size. Link blocked movement from the right while moving in for an attack while Seyka blocked forward motion and swung at the left side. And to top it off, Zelda's sword was in motion in the air above. It was a good tactic, and a well-coordinated attack given how impromptu it was and how none of these people had really worked together like this in a fight before. Morrigan gave them credit for that much. Golden lightning cracked around her for a moment before she moved. Her right arm overpowered Alex's grip as his knife began to move towards her throat, elbowing him in the gut with more force than he could have ever expected out of the knight's small frame. [ Alexander Elessar , Nauseated for the next round, Actions are Limited] Her right arm free with sword in hand, she swung in a wide but powerful arc. It first connected with Seyka's shield, and though it did not break through the shield immediately, the impact was powerful enough to physically lift her off the ground and throw her about ten feet off to the side. This didn't even stop her swing, as she continued through to cut through the empowered hair gripping her left arm. Midna wouldn't suffer any damage from it since it wasn't her direct body, but her hair suffered quite a bit of damage and burned from the light-element of the blade. More importantly though, it freed the grip on her left arm. Continuing in a blindingly smooth motion, she rotated and shoulder-checked the would-be knight Link while avoiding his own attack, surpassing the strength of a Goron's hit as it threw the Hylian farmer back, though the force was dispersed enough to not leave a lasting impact. The shoulder check doubled as a dodge, as Zelda's sword ended up piercing the ground where Morrigan stood a moment ago. Momentarily liberated, Morrigan dodged away from the group, clearing almost the entire width of the throne room in two strides. Though none of them had suffered any lasting damage, their assault was thwarted. For the most part. With the gap widened, the knight seemed to take a moment and quite literally examining herself. Flexing her left hand, moving her right arm; a small curved dagger manifested in her left hand that was raised up to her left cheek. Lightly pressing the edge against her skin, the edge was lightly coated in red as blood came from the cut. She almost seemed amazed at what would come across to those in the room as obvious. "I'd forgotten the feeling of bleeding. Seems I allowed myself to get sloppy without the fear of pain or death." she spoke to herself, as the dagger vanished from her hand and she placed both hands upon her sword. More golden lightning began to spark in much larger bolts around her, though it was not true lightning, but the very same light she had been firing before. Her gaze was much more alive than it was before, both literally and figuratively, and a small smile formed on her face. The face that up until a moment ago held nothing but anger. May be something else was brought to life aside from her physical body. It was around this point that cracks began to form in Seyka's shield, though not enough at this point to completely compromise its integrity. "You ask why I come now, doppelganger," she spoke as her gaze shifted to Link, "I come to complete what I began one hundred years ago, forcefully stopped but unwilling to forget. It seems I was the only one." the bolts of light crackled with greater intensity, leaving small scorches on the ground around her. Perhaps indeed there was something else that had been brought back with her body. "If, Hylian Knight, you believe this present to differ from the past, then show me the resolve of the present. Show me the strength to overcome the past!" A sudden burst of air originated from her, rushing out and blowing past the group. It wasn't an attack, but a byproduct of something else. Her blade was raised in front of her in both hands, a ready stance of a knight. Her gaze steeled, fixated on the group as a whole instead of just Zelda. "Here I come!" Morrigan boldly declared, and dashed to the group. Dash was the closest word for it, though the distance was once again covered in but a couple strides. Her body flung itself with greater speed and momentum than should be possible, and her first target was the Hylian Knight Seyka. She brought the golden blade around in a powerful horizontal swing even faster and more powerful than the one that had thrown her earlier. The sound of the air cutting from that was enough to prove it. Alexander Elessar Link Midna Princess Zelda Seyka Rozengale [/font][/ul][/div][/blockquote][/td][td] M O R R I G A N

[attr="class","ohlove"] both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. Well, that didn't go so well. Alex heaved a little as he dropped to one knee from the blow for a moment before he began to finally rise as Morrigan began to talk again, away from them all. He shifted a bit as he held his stomach, flipping the knife to the other hand. Raw power wasn't going to work here then. No one had anything that could match that kind of raw potential. "I-I'll be fine..." He choked out. He had no idea how Midna would react to that. Wait, she'd never once shown any real concern for him, why in the hell would she do so now? Well, at least it made things easier?
He wouldn't be able to do much right now, but he could still coordinate. Gods his head was spinning. He was able to see Morrigan able to move, rushing at a blinding speed to cut down Seyka. There was still time. Mind over matter and all that. "Sword!" He shouted out to Zelda, pointing his knife at Morrigan. Intercept the blow with that trick of yours. It might not stop her, but with all the magical might of the princess behind that parry, it might be enough to slow it enough to make it manageable enough for Seyka. He turned to Link, noting the weapon wrapped around his chest. "Bow!" He ordered. Shoot her in the back. Engaging her directly was stupid, they'd have to pick her apart from a distance.
At least they could now.
He looked at his shadow... maybe... hm... assuming she didn't jump to someone else's... "Should've cut my throat with that dagger when you had the chance." He called out to Morrigan. She had talked of a contingent and how she would be a one-knight army this time? Well, it was worth a shot. "No wonder your little revolution failed." He snorted as he spat out in front of him. "I wonder how your comrades felt when the noose closed in. Did they blame you in their final moments, knowing that you led them to deaths that brought no honor, no glory, not even the accomplishment of your goal or the fulfillment of your false promises? They died because of your bad judgement." Push the big red button and get the pressure off everyone else for a moment. He'd be fine right quick as he made one final observation.
"Do you think they cursed you? They must have. They'd be here if they didn't." He grinned. If they were going to try to get any sort of element of surprise on Morrigan, Alex shouting out directions would not assist them in any way. Would his attempts at a taunting distraction? It might take the heat of Seyka momentarily if it did, but only to redirect it toward himself. They were digging their graves deeper and quickly running out of options.
If the unthinkable happened and the princess of Hyrule perished, what would become of the kingdom? Recent events already tore it apart; losing their symbol of hope would break the hearts of those who fully supported the monarchy. Not everyone was happy with the current system, that was true, yet he doubted anyone wanted to see such senseless destruction all caused from a phantom that took the stance of a knight.
Morrigan. Morrigan, Morrigan, Morrigan. There had to be something she clung to just as much as her believes. Didn't knights take an oath? Didn't they have honor? No matter how great her dissatisfaction in the past was, something greater had to be going on. The way she spoke, it was as if she was almost... almost afraid of past events repeating. And if that were the case, there had to be a reason they couldn't see yet.
The blow Zelda parred earlier looked like it sent shockwaves through her very core. What Seyka be able to take the same thing? Were she closer, he would have crossed the distance and helped her to stop it, but as it were, all he could do at that moment was exactly what Alex suggested. He switched his sword for Ilia's bow smoothly, knocked an arrow, and let it fire at the small of Morrigan's back. The tips of the arrows had previously been coated with the magic powder he carried with him, though whether it had any effect or what sort of effect it may have, he didn't know.
"How did you die?" Link raised his voice, backtracking a little to begin finding a better angle to fire from. "Why are you here now? You claim to want to complete what you started a hundred years past, but how are you here? What brought you to this place?"
There were too many unknown variables, and as much as he'd prefer to restrain her to question her in a more appropriate situation, he doubted there would be a chance to do so, especially since their chances of survival were painfully low. MADE BY ★MEULK

A familiar feeling of helplessness washed over Zelda observing the results of their so-called 'well-coordinated' attacked and her blood ran cold. She'd only had one opportunity to feel it before: Ordon. There was just one problem with that comparison. There was no retreating from her own throne. Ordon had been a lost village before she'd even arrived. Retreating had been a last resort to minimize the risk of a great tragedy. However, retreating here would be a great tragedy. On top of the great tragedy that had already occured, of course.
...Zelda quietly began making peace with the idea that the end of her life might be approaching. As dark as that was, it was a decisively better than letting herself panic indefinitely.
The royal longsword shot across the room with a wave of Zelda's arm, just kinda casually getting in the way of Morrigan's pursuit. Sliding on in between her and Seyka, the blade once again rushed to meet Morrigan, this time aiming for her blade. Once again a loud crack could be heard as her blade met Morrigan's. The nice thing about using it telekinetically, of course, was that she wouldn't have to worry about feeling sore later. More importantly, though, she didn't have to worry about leaving herself vulnerable. Allowing the force of Morrigan's blade to glance off of her own and drift down to the guard, she once again threw her weight forward and attempted to telekinetically lock blades with Morrigan, pushing back at her in an effort to keep her from properly defending herself from a followup attack by Seyka--and of course anyone else trying to converge on her at that moment. |

Welp, she hadn't been expecting to get a hair cut. Had any other part of her body been exposed to the light, she would have been very much hurt. But it was just her hair that got singed to which she quickly pulled it back into her little shadow portal. She took the little bit of downtime she had to swoop over to Alex's shadow just as he got hit. He coughed and sputtered but didn't seem to have sustained any grave injuries. With the though of him being okay putting her at ease (at least where that situation is concerned), she focused her attention on the foe at hand. Just what could she do now, knowing that the sword has light magic...
Morrigan had struck at Seyka, Link had readied an arrow, Alex was goading her. Zelda was trying to deflect the sword with her own. As if out of thin air, a large, black sword with intricate glowing markings appeared. If Zelda were to be overcome with Morrigan's strength, it'd be no good for the Princess and her Knight. So why not give a helping hand? Even though Midna no longer used her hair-hand. Instead, she focused on her psychokinetic powers to attempt to parry the attacks from Morrigan.

SO SAY THE WORD AND I'LL BE RUNNING BACK TO FIND YOU Truly, the efforts of their impromptu coordination between each other was something very few could pull off. If this were a fairytale story then it would’ve been enough to vanquish the opposition set before them. However, even as quixotic as the Hylian Knight was, she knew deep in the crevices of her heart this was reality. The phantom, returning back into a mortal’s shell, had still enough strength to hold her ground against all of that effort. Strange as the circumstances were that was the story. Seyka gritted her teeth as she felt the small of the sword against her Hylian Shield. The magical glow of her enchantment quickly triggering, illuminating off of her shield and trying to hold off the powerful energy radiating off from the strike. “Hnng-!!” She gritted through her teeth. She felt her foothold slipping until the force of the impact quickly took her off of the ground. Tumbling onto her side, she rolled a few times as she was sent back from the shock force of the retaliation Morrigan sent onto her and the rest of the group. “For the love of Nayru…” she uttered softly. She scrambled back up onto her feet tightening the grip on her sword and shield. The timing couldn’t have been more impeccable when she saw cracks began to form in her shield. No way. Seyka knew there was no way she could take on this woman one-on-one. The level of strength was not even in a long shot. But it was not like her to stand around and practically give up. “I believe in the potential, the better part of the people. That the past should stand as testaments and the foundations to improve where wrongs have been made. If that isn’t satisfactory now then I believe we will reach such strength with time. We accomplish nothing if death comes anon! Just more bodies to the count of unnecessary tragedies!” If what doesn’t kill them makes them stronger then Seyka prayed by the end of this they survived so that she wasn’t made out to be a liar. And if not the present, then who else would try to correct the wrongs made before hand? Who would stop the endless cycle of chaotic savagery and bloodshed of the innocent? She took a defensive stance knowing what was coming. Morrigan engaged her in combat. The next set of chain reactions commenced. Alex began to goad the knight. Link readied his arrows whilst the princesses focused their powers on parrying the incoming blows. The incoming attack coming for her was swung all the same. Seyka felt her feet moving as it all played out in slow motion in her mind. She ducked, tucking her knees in as she forced her body to into a dodge roll towards the right, away from the course of the blade. Positioning herself proper, Seyka countered with strike of her own. The blade, held by steel-gripped hands, made an attempt at the back of Morrigan's left knee. tag: WAGA ARU G, Alexander Elessar, Link, Midna, Princess Zeldanotes: Don't mind me >.>;; I'LL SOAR THE ENDLESS SKIES FOR ONLY ONE SIGHT OF YOUR STARLIGHT

[/b] The round will reset 60 hours from now. THERE IS NO POSTING ORDER, BUT YOU MAY POST ONLY ONCE BEFORE THE BOSS. This is not a boss fight you want to strike out on. Even moreso than usual.
Where there was once nothing, suddenly two blades floating in-air were there to defend the Hylian Knight. The sound of metal clanging against metal rang out, louder than even Alex's shouting for a moment, and was promptly followed by the sound of shattering. The royal blade wielded by Zelda and the ceremonial blade manipulated by Midna were both broken in two, the broken portions of the blades falling to the ground as the hilts and partial blades attached to them hung in air. Fortunately, the combined attempts to parry did give Seyka the room necessary to dodge underneath the attack, saving her from what could've been certain death. Though a farmer's intuition was not wrong. Carrying the momentum of the horizontal slash, Morrigan spun herself around to deflect the arrow with her blade. "Your Hero of Time couldn't keep me sealed forever." she briefly answered to Link as she leapt away from the follow-up attack from Seyka, though not before she managed to land a cut on the un-guarded back of her knee. The small stain of blood near the tip of Seyka's blade confirmed that her attack connected, even if as Morrigan landed she did not seem phased by it. It was proof; for how much of a monster she was, they could hit her. "My comrades will have to wait to curse me until the Gerudo get their turn." was all she said in response to the taunting from Alex. Indeed, she had no doubt that her comrades cursed her. She was a symbol, a powerful warrior, but not a leader. The countless lives lost as a result of her actions, her choices. She could not turn back now. Otherwise, all the loss she had already endured would be for naught. All the shame brought to her and her allies by the Hylian Nobles and the corrupted knights would have been without punishment. Her grip tightened on her sword as golden eyes darted from one opponent to the next. Then, she realized. There was only one proper way to handle this. Taking a great leap backwards, putting her on the far opposite extreme of the throne room as the rest of the party, the golden blade was raised and pointed to the sky. It's glow magnified, intensified several fold, even greater than either of its two uses before. She had not taken this stance when utilizing the attack before either. "In spite of those this sword has claimed, it's light shines ever bright. So long as this blade radiates gold, my path shall remain clear. NOW! GO FORTH, MY LIGHT!"The blade came down, and with it a blast several magnitudes greater than any they had seen. It's size was easily enough to eclipse both of the prior blasts, the stone of the floor being torn beneath it and the debris and corpses evaporated on contact. It moved quickly, and it was a large enough blast to consume the entire group and the majority of the throne room. The shadows upon the ground were simultaneously being lengthened and extinguished by the sheer magnitude of it. And in a small corner, away from the area consumed by the light, a paper-thin appendage of black with red bordering stripes slipped onto the edge. It would look painfully familiar to those that witnessed Ordon, and especially to a certain Twili... [attr="class","ohlove"] both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. Well that button did all of jack and shit. Alex could only take some small comfort in that they had not only managed to save Seyka, albeit at the cost of two fine swords (a small price, surely), but that Seyka had managed to draw first blood. In the battle with Morrigan Vitalis, a woman who could contend with the Hero of Time, a group of virtual nobodies were holding their own when a legion of knights had failed. He looked at the fallen, noting that there were in fact other weapons. Those two swords may have been broken, but there were plenty of temporary replacements lying around.
When the light of that sword began to glow however, things immediately changed. There was something big coming. Something that would come from that sword. He looked to the others, they had no time to spare on the matter. "The walls! Get to cover!" He roared as he began to rush towards Morrigan, grabbing his staff along the way. The closer to the sword, the better. That power was coming from the sword, it had a very small origin point. In theory, it should have two blind spots to slip in. Midna was still in his shadow, wasn't she? He hoped that she knew not to get out, especially now. This would be the most dangerous time for her.
He rushed forward, really not paying attention to the others. He just assumed that hopefully they would be smart enough to get out of the blast radius. Instead, he found himself in a corner. He took a moment to breathe, hoping that his actions would be enough to spare him and Midna from the blast when that sword came down. He really hoped that someone had the brains to follow him or at least get to the other wall. It was only when he noticed a black and red slip in his corner that things seemed off. It felt wrong, and every instinct he had told him to get out of there. "The hell?" He remarked. Could Midna see it too? Move. Move, move, move!
Midna's shadow dwelling would, hopefully, keep her safe, and Zelda's position allowed her to quickly move out of the way - or so the farmer prayed to every goddess who might be watching over them. By Farore's courage, let their resolve stand true and strong, for the chaos that Morrigan could unleash to the rest of Hyrule was unfathomable. Knights were torn to bits by little effort on her part; if she got past them, how far would her blade carry?
His instincts took over before his mind had a chance to stop him. Due to having moved to get into a better angle, he'd ended up slightly behind the knight dutifully trying to guard and protect her princess. One gloved hand wrapped tightly around Seyka's slender wrist and adrenaline carried him the rest of the way. He flung her forward against the wall out of the light's reach, having (hopefully!) found one of the blind spots to keep them out of harm's way.
Both of his hands crashed against the wall above her head, an effort to keep his body from hitting hers due to his lunge. Luckily for him, he hadn't seen the slip that Alex had, or else he'd have another distraction.
"Get her highness out of here, milady." Link gazed down at Seyka, speaking close enough to her ear so only she would hear. "Alex and I will cause a distraction to give you enough time to escape with her."
Would escape be possible? They had to try. Because if they didn't try, then...
Without waiting for a response, and praying once more for Farore's favor, he spun around in a fluid motion and unleashed an arrow toward the hand that Morrigan gripped her sword with. If they could get that blade away from her, they might stand a fighting chance. MADE BY ★MEULK

Zelda had been prepared for a lot of things. Watching her sword snap in half like that was... not one of them. That was really disheartening. Now she needed to comission a new custom made sword, go through all the trouble of making sure it was perfect for her... Some blacksmith would be pretty happy at least. Of course, she was decidedly less disappointed with her destroyed sword than she would've been Seyka's untimely demise. She supposed this was really more of a footnote compared to all of the other terrible things that had happened today. Somehow it still left her feeling bitter, though. She supposed she'd grown attached to the blade.
A familiar glowing light sent Zelda running for the hills before she could really channel that bitterness into anything though. The sheer size of that blast made her heart skip a beat. Thank goodness she hadn't taken that attack lightly, throwing herself into a corner. In all honesty, she'd just been trying to split up from the others to make it harder for Morrigan to pull off stunts like that. And yet, it wound up... probably saving her life? Goodness. At this rate, she was beginning to worry about the entire castle coming down over their heads. Maybe she should keep an eye on the roof...
It was at that moment that Zelda noticed something moving in the corner she happened to be taking refuge in. Was that--? ...A yelp of alarm could be heard as Zelda was promptly sent fleeing across the room. Nope! Nu-uh. If she had to pick a way to go it was definitely not going to be one of those princess eating monsters. Sign her the heck up for Morrigan's blade. It would probably be considered mercifully quick compared to digestion. She'd know! She knew what they were capable of. The thoroughly spooked princess then had a thought, though, as she awkwardly tried to make a beeline away from both Morrigan and the shadow monster.
Were Morrigan and the dark monsters friends? It seemed like an obvious question. One was a force of dark and the other a force of light. Also one was a savage predatorial beast. Of course they weren't friends!! It was the idea that answer spawned which intrigued her.
Turning about, Zelda abruptly stopped and began to focus her telekinesis. Both hands reached out to grab a set of invisible objects and Zelda then mashed her palms together, converging the objects on a target--Morrigan, by the way her eyes were locked on the other. But what the heck was she manipulating? "The light illuminates our world and grants us sight. Yet, those who pursue it for long enough will be blinded by the sun." Zelda lamented as she worked, throwing shade at Morrigan in the process. However, she was not speaking to Morrigan--much as her focus on the other might suggest. Her words were actually intended for Seyka Rozengale, as a commentary on the twisted sense of justice they were observing from Morrigan. The knight was doing a pretty good job being optimistic on her behalf. She couldn't help but offer her a bit of encouragement.
...And then, the two broken halves of Zelda's longsword shot across the room and once again confronted Morrigan. Converging on her, both the carefully sharpened tip and the now jagged base of the blade would begin to repeatedly lunge forward and stab at Morrigan in rapid succession, attempting to work themselves past her defenses by targeting areas of her body that would be difficult to block in tandem. First the belly, followed by the sword arm. Then the collar, followed by the thigh. It was a wild and deadly dance of mind games, feints and stabs intended to, if nothing else, pre-occupy Morrigan with defending herself or force her back.
Noteworthily, Zelda had positioned the blades opposite the corner with the spooky creature she'd observed moments earlier. She figured that there was a good chance Morrigan would face them when defending herself, and so if she were to get pushed back or dodge backward away from them... she'd be moving right toward the creature in the corner. |

SO SAY THE WORD AND I'LL BE RUNNING BACK TO FIND YOU Her initial reaction had been one of disappointment. Dodging out of the way by the skin of her teeth before attempting to counterattack was all she could muster. Another smoothly executed team play against Morrigan was perfectly performed, but the knight proved too nimble for Seyka. Damn it! The flow of the battle quickly reverted back in Seyka’s mind into normal pace. She got up from her position, reposing herself defensively. Only then did she notice at the tip of her blade did she see trickles of crimson of the sword. A definite cut had been made. It wasn’t much, but for the entirety of this battle of back and forth? Landing a cut on the woman who vaporized a plethora of her comrades? That alone was an accomplishment to the Hylian Knight. Unfortunately, she didn’t have enough time to marvel at the feat. A blast of light was coming at them and it was projected fast at them. Bright eyes widened when she felt a hand grip onto her wrist pulling her out of the way. Her back slammed against the nearby wall causing her to wince a little at the unexpected impact. Hopefully they were out of the way of the blast. Reopening her eyes, she saw Link in close proximity of her… and protecting her? This certainly was an odd turn of tables. The knight defended by the brave youth of Ordon. Not sure how she felt about this. “Of course. Leave it to me. Be safe,” she managed to say without losing a beat in her dignified tone. Not saying that she was about to lose it. The instant they parted, Seyka bolted for Zelda’s side. A few steps forward taken so that she was in front not taking any chances of anything harming the Princess. The words of wisdom flowed from the Monarch didn’t elude the greenette. She nodded her head and looked back to Morrigan. “I heard a similar story from somewhere,” she answered, “Too much good can turn into a bad thing? Fly too close to the sun, and it’ll burn your wings right off. Then all you know is falling.” tag: WAGA ARU G, Alexander Elessar, Link, Midna, Princess Zeldanotes: boop, boop I'LL SOAR THE ENDLESS SKIES FOR ONLY ONE SIGHT OF YOUR STARLIGHT

In one single strike, her sword had broken in two... Distraught was an understatement. That sword was sacred to her and her people. A relic and a powerful weapon... but not against a wielder of light. Midna cried out in anger and lifted the pieces of her broken sword with her powers but Alex's words caused her to look away from Morrigan before she retaliated.
"IT'S HERE" she hissed, her eyes zeroing in on the corner where the shadow grew. The same black and red marks. The long, creepy tendrils. There was no doubt in her mind that it was the same creature.
As much as she had wanted to strike it immediately, she had to wait for it to expose more of itself. There was not a discernible weak spot at the moment... but her fragmented sword was ready.
