Black...stripes? Tendrils? They were as thin as paper but pierced the ground with ease. Two of these extensions first emerged from the hole, suspending in the air the rest of what they were attached to. A girl, roughly 17 or so, wearing a black turtleneck dress with red stripes. The tendrils that had emerged first revealed themselves to be attached to the dress she wore, or rather, were part of the dress itself splitting off and extending themselves. Bright red eyes took in the sight of the village as she lightly toyed with a lock of her silver hair, brushing it behind her ear along with part of a pink ribbon on the side of her head. Her legs and her face also seemed to have similar red marks as her hand, and a thin red smoke occasionally rose from her shoulders, quickly dissipating into the night air. "Oh? It looks like more appetizers have arrived. This is more filling than Ordon, but this village still isn't enough..." the girl remarked as her eyes caught sight of the others in the area. The small smile on her face betrayed the intent of a predator upon seeing its prey, her tongue lightly caressing her lips. The red marks then revealed that they extended even to her neck and part of her face, squirming as her hand lightly touched the skin of her throat. Her eyes looked to a few of the houses for a moment, before she extended both arms out and multiple tendrils split from her sleeves and shot out. Lanterns and torches that lit the doorways were struck, letting open flames catch the grass and wood around them. The previously silver light of the moon was dyed red as the flames grew, with the girl's gaze firmly set on the "intruders" to her meal. "May be roasting them first will be better..." she thought aloud before pausing, as if she had just remembered something important. "Oh yes, I haven't introduced myself yet. It's important to introduce yourself when you're a guest, especially before a meal. The damn wizard gave him a way to the farthest southern point of Hyrule, but didn't bother to bring him back. It had been a solid few days of nothing but travel for the dragon knight as he tried to make his way home. He didn't deal with a lot of people on the way. He didn't want to. He wanted to get back home to the caves and continue his training.
It was reaching night time as Volga approached Kakariko, a necessary point of travel between him and home. Memory served him of the village about a decade ago, and the occasional glimpse of it from his mountain viewpoint. It was a common stop for travelers through Eldin and from Eldin to most other points of Hyrule. It also sat right on the road leading to and from the Eldin mountains. Goron often came here to trade and those seeking the Gorons came through. The village didn't often sleep, though it would slow down when night came.
However, what Volga was greeted by was not slow, but still. There was nobody. He saw the swords lying on the road and couldn't help but think of what he saw at Ordon. Was there another one of those beasts here? Was this why that damn wizard threw him at Ordon? May be. It was hard to say at this point. What he did know was that he immediately took his spear in hand on reflex and moved further into the village, ready to take down whatever was here. As he moved though, his instinct brought him to a halt.
A wall turned to liquid. It seemed to vanish as if being drank like water. And from that missing wall came a girl. A girl that seemed at ease in this scene. A girl...wearing? It was hard to say. But she seemed to be wearing something that acted a lot like the thing in Ordon. This one didn't have an obvious spot to aim for like the glowing eyes though.
And then she commented on him and the others arriving on the scene as food. One only acted with that demeanor if they could enforce their status as an alpha predator. He did not know fear. But he knew that whatever this girl was, she was dangerous. He did not immediately go in for the attack, remaining silent for a moment and watching the girl. He could not act recklessly. He was not showing up mid-fight when the weakness was already found. This was a new foe, a fresh foe, and it was not one he knew anything about. His off hand was ready to grab the ruined greatsword from his back though and unleash a beam if needed.

Fress had never been more terrified than he was now. The Light Realm had not been a good place to be for him thus far, but this monster that called herself a "Devourer of Men" was the worst thing he had run into. Perhaps he should have turned tail when he saw that an entire town was devoid of people. Still, there was only one logical option at this point.
"I, the Magnificent Fress, don't know what you are," Fress said pulling out his Ceremonial Blade, "But with all my might and justice, I will strike you...."
Fress quickly threw a mercy bomb at this creature melded with the shadow of a nearby building to hide before finishing his sentence. Hopefully, the effects would allow this creepy looking thing to be a lot easier to defeat.

If she needed to admit to the reason to return to Kakariko, her heart fluttered against her ribs. Not much money resided in the tiny pouch she made out of leaves, and there were hardly any shops earlier during her browsing that would sell trinkets of her fancy, but still... she wanted to buy something, just a little something, for him. Never in her life had she purchased something for another with rupees, so why did she want to so badly now? Something to ponder when returning to the open field and the hazy road, she supposed.
If sleep hadn't lured her into the peacefulness of a tree, she might have been able to do something more. Something else, something... just something.
With luck avoiding her--or perhaps on her side--she awake with a start to find the area far different from what she remembered. Her small body allowed her to maneuver easily from the tree and take to the air, emitting a pulsating blue glow. She snaked her way to where she hoped would be safe, just in time to watch a figure reply firmly to the female dancing in inky shadows.
He didn't look like much. Appearances were often deceiving, and if things went south, having a back up plan to assist (or escape) suited her fancy.
...this meant she couldn't buy a present, didn't it? Phooey. Volga @herotails bringing link here wouldn't work, so have a fae watching from safety for now c': MADE BY ★MEULK

she spoke aloud, and the same batch of tendrils from her sleeve shot out to the shadow that Fress had merged with. They then melded with the shadow itself, much as he himself had done, and within the shadow itself they struck at him, creating an fight within the shadow between Fress and five piercing tendrils of shadow. They acted like multiple flexible rapiers, aiming to stab him with small sharp points yet malleable like water. Meanwhile, Nimue slowly approached Volga, the tendrils that seemed to hold her in the air acting as legs while she remained suspended in the air. While it looked like Nerine would be left alone, not even her small sprite self could avoid detection. More tendrils split off from the bottom of her dress and sought to grab and wrap around the small fairy. A total of seven sought to bind the tiny body, each one larger in width than she was tall in her current state. Their speed easily matched hers despite her small size and nimble movements as a fairy. And at the same time, seven more split off from the bottom of the dress to attack at several points on Volga; one for each of his limbs, one for his head, and two for his torso. Each spiraled into a single point and aimed to pierce straight through his body. "It's better if the food doesn't fight back...it goes down easier, doesn't it? So, if you all wouldn't mind..." Nimue spoke of eating living beings as casually as one would speak of a eating a loaf of bread. As she spoke, with each of the tendrils moving to pierce and grab their targets, the body of the dress shifted and split itself open, almost akin to a flower blooming. And within that flower was the naked form of a girl, a mix of bare skin and a thick mesh of squirming red marks. Though, with that much shown, it became clear the red marks were not on her skin but rather were under it. Her free hand moved to rub her now exposed stomach, like a child who wanted to show their parent they were hungry. "If you could just quietly let me eat you, it'll be easier on my stomach." her mouth curved into the innocent smile of a girl, all the while trying to kill three people at the same time. [googlefont=Roboto] What I fear and what I've tried
Words I say and what I hide
All the pain, I want it to end
But I want it again
This was not what Ashei had imagined when she had began her journey to Kakariko Village. Originally, she had been on her way through the eastern side of the map to head down to Ordon. To her knowledge, Rusl was dead. But she refused to believe it without proof. These beasts people spoke of - like demonic entities that engulfed the land in malice and fear - they were terrifying, but they were stopped. Even at the cost of the entire village falling... they could be stopped.
Of course, the Hylian soldiers would not take credit. They never would. It was always the underdogs - or the people who you least expected. Never the people who were obligated. And despite this evil being gone from Ordon, she needed to know for sure if her comrade had truly fallen.
But this was a little bit more than she was asking for. Of course, she would stay and fight, but she never expected for this to happen again. Something was seriously wrong, and she wasn't sure what this was, or where it was coming from.
As she arrived to the village, she was greeted by more strangers - all of which were painted with either fear or tenacity. Up against them - a corrupted woman of pale white, in contrast to her crimson affliction and jet aura.
"What in the..." she murmured through her teeth. Her pale eyes watched as the woman looked from person to person. A hunger came forward, and suddenly she was exposing herself - thick red veins glowing beneath her skin as she taunted the makeshift group of fighters.
She wanted to eat them.
"Absolutely not." Ashei growled before stepping closer to the group. A blade was pulled from her side as she held it tightly within both of her hands, watching the demonic girl attentively. "Let's see how strong you really are."

[googlefont=Open+Sans] 守りたいものを守れるのなら [attr="class","firstfriend"] すべてを受け入れて 未来(あした)を探す Earlier that week, a Shaman from the Deku Swamp came to the Palace with a malevolent prediction. She prophesized to have foreseen a great evil descending upon Kakariko Village, her vision entailed that it would devour the village in its’ entirety. The Captain of the Guard was immediately reminded Ziegess and how he’d singlehandedly decimated Ordon Village; there were currently only two confirmed survivors, Link and Colin. He’d witnessed firsthand the backlash those two had suffered and truthfully, he wouldn’t wish that upon even his worst enemy. He’d immediately issued the orders, he’d increased the number of guards on duty at any given moment and fortified the Palace’s defenses before departing to lead aid.
By the time Dieter had arrived at Kakariko Village, a group had already engaged the threat, Nimue – proclaimed Devourer of Man. He’d witnessed her effortlessly slice a bomb in midair. However, she’d find that he refused to allow her to capture Nerine; he’d grown somewhat fond of the little Fae after their late-night encounter. His wrist rolled softly in a semi-circle, this motion was well-practiced and used to brandish his spear. His light-weight stature made it so that he moved soundlessly towards the rapidly approaching tendrils, his body only stopping once to anchor himself to the ground as he swung his blade out in a controlled arc; one that was meant to sever them before they got any closer to Nerine.
His cerulean eyes narrowed, shifting to the side to linger on Nimue. She’d already been engaged by yet another Knight, one he’d never seen before. Her personality reminded him strongly of Link’s, she had good intentions but seemed to rush into situations. ✉ | Sorry it's short, first post in a bit. |

Fress was surprised to hear the sound of something else entering the shadow he was hidden in and scared to see that it was those things that were coming out of that monster. Fortunately, Fress was able to dodge the initial barrage. Pulling out his sword, he sliced through the returning tentacle blades thingies and quickly leaped out of the shadow. "It's clear hiding is not an option," he thought to himself. Noticing the shattered remains of his mercy bomb, he knew his next move would have to be silent. Melding with the shadows once again and dodging more attacks until he managed to pop out of the shadow of a chimney of a building right next to Nimue. Fress then proceeded to throw another Mercy Bomb, getting on the edge of the rooftop he was on so that he could get as close to her face as possible. Oh, crap. Oh crap oh crap oh crap!
The seven tendrils proved quickly to be a challenge for her in her small ball-like form. A tiny 'eep!' of panic and a series of winding motions to try to get out of range didn't appear to be all that effective, and like hell she'd stop moving long enough to let something actually whack her. With the size of one of them, let alone all seven, they'd down her in an instant.
In an almost beautiful manner that drew upon a flowering motif, the dress split to reveal red markings marring the softer shade of skin. Overneath or underneath? She had little time to ponder on that, what with continuously battering her wings to spur herself forward.
What she didn't expect were for some of the tendrils to be slashed at by another. The white-haired youth and armor-clad one appeared to be busy with their own thing, and the female who just arrived threw out a challenge, and--
"Dieter?" His name, spoken as a question, served as the prelude for her glow to grow with her body, taking on a much more human-esque appearance. Soft blue hair and eyes, and clothing that looked like the opposite a person would want to fight with, clashed with the satchel and dagger attached to her side.
Stepping closer, she kept her hand near the blade in case things go worse. "Any idea what this thing is?" MADE BY ★MEULK

The girl lashed out at the three that initially made themselves visible. The one who vanished in shadow seemed to be pursued, so that was out as a strategic option. The blue ball, probably a fairy, was being attacked despite not doing anything. And he, he was getting his own attack. Volga readied himself, twisting his body so that one of the tendrils would strike first on his non-dominant arm. He needed to know how to treat this girl's offensive capabilities and react accordingly.
And the tendril struck his dragonscale armor but did not pierce on contact. That instant was all he needed. He immediately ran straight into the tendrils, letting them strike harmlessly against his armor and moving closer to the girl. During his movement, he took one hand off his spear to grab a broken sword from the ground. Using the portion of its blade that was still sharp, he cut at the tendrils to try and see if they regenerated. However, he did not stop his forward movement, intending on closing the gap to land a blow on this girl.
His feet found themselves coming to a halt when she spoke. She did not even view them as a threat. This he already knew. However, she then requested that they just stop fighting and let her eat them. She had no respect for war, no dignity as a warrior; she was truly nothing but a girl who was trying to fill an empty stomach. And that fact, more than anything else, pissed off the dragon knight.
"GIRL! I AM NOT A DISH FOR YOU TO PEACEFULLY CONSUME! I AM A WARRIOR!" he shouted, not even really speaking to her anymore but making a loud declaration to the high heavens, "AND IT WOULD SEEM ALL PRESENT ARE WARRIORS, SAVE YOU. YOU WANT A MEAL? YOU WILL FIGHT FOR IT, AS NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS GIVEN. ONLY EARNED!"
So the dragon dashed forth, leaping into the air before the exposed girl and bringing up the arm holding the broken sword. He intended to drive that fragmented blade straight into the girl's heart. He would punish her for such a blatant act of disrespect. He would not be toyed with.

Though it was a fraction of a second, the voices of thousands coursed through him and all uttered that same curse at him. None of them the voice of the girl he was fighting. Volga's aggressive strategy seemed to pay off somewhat, as the tendrils piercing strikes could not go through his dragonscale armor. Though they moved to try and wrap around him, the cuts from the broken sword stalled it for brief moments as they regenerated from the source. Long enough for him to shout at Nimue and make his bold declaration. "Wait, what?" Nimue spoke, once again not even seeming to register anybody around her, let alone responding to any of the comments and questions thrown her way. Her gaze turned off into the distance, and the tendrils seemed to pause in their tasks. That was around when Volga got tired of her shit and stabbed her in the heart with a broken sword. The blade found its mark and easily pierced through the skin. Blood quickly poured from the wound, and almost on reflex, twenty tendrils split off from the blooming dress to all grab Volga. They did not immediately kill him, but they restrained the obvious assailant. "She's at Hyrule Castle? I know where that is! The magic of the one here was so good...I just have to eat her! She must be delicious!" Nimue exclaimed with a tone of girlish delight seeped in sinister intent. The tendrils piercing into Fress freed themselves from his body...by throwing him off the roof, before retreating through the shadows back to their host. The burning sensation and the voices cursing the twili male would linger for a short period after, but would soon pass. His wounds were deep, but thin, and not fatal but would need attending to fairly soon. Not factoring for whatever may happen from his fall. The rest of the tendrils that were extended out retreated to their home. Those wrapped around Volga freed themselves from their duty by flinging the knight into a nearby building. The sword in Nimue's chest seemed to turn completely to a silver liquid before absorbing into the very wound made in her. The stab wound then sealed itself up, and the blood seemed to get absorbed right back into her skin. Barely seconds after the fatal wound was made, it was mended and she was as good as new. She herself didn't even appear pained or bothered by the attack. It was almost as if she didn't recognize it even happened. "I guess I'll try leaving another one here...may be this one will be bigger."Two tendrils slowly extended from each of her sleeves and reached to her stomach, tearing it wide open to momentarily reveal her innards. For those familiar with human anatomy, it looked normal for a human. The tendrils then pulled out something obviously not-normal; a shifting black and red mass of slime, the size of a small child. They promptly dropped it on the ground and the torn stomach immediately sealed itself up, much like the heart wound moments before. The mass shifted on the ground and swirled black and red, before fading to pitch black and ceasing to move, though its size grew much larger. It easily eclipsed the height of any of those present. The dress then moved to reform itself around her, returning to its previous state. And Nimue left. Eight tendrils acted as paper-thin spider legs to carry her out of Kakariko, over buildings and into the night. Her heading indeed confirmed what she spoke aloud: she was headed to Hyrule Castle. So, did you miss me? If you have no idea how this is going to work, read this. The admin posts especially. In the meantime, the round will reset 48 hours from now. THERE IS NO POSTING ORDER. IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO POST, DO IT.With Nimue having left the area for the capital to the west, things remained silent only for a few seconds. Not really long enough for the full reality of the danger heading towards Castle Town and everyone in it, but long enough for the instant realization. Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, there was something that required their more... immediate... attention. The black mass that Nimue had expelled from her innards only seconds was moving again. As it began to take form, it appeared to tower over the various inns and shops... or what was left of them anyway. Only if the legs forming were anything to go by, that wasn't its full height, it was merely kneeling, as if lowering itself to answer the heroes that its master had called it to squash. Literally most likely. When it finally finished, it was a sight to behold. A giant behemoth of shadow. The light of the moon seemed to break through even this creature, just slightly. Its face was blank, save for two brightly glowing blue eyes. Two large horns protruded from its temples. And unfortunately for Dieter and Volga, who had fought Ziegess, it was most certainly not paper thin. Two long arms, each thick with muscle or an equivalent of muscle, slammed into the ground, causing it to visibly shake from the impact. Each hand was large enough that it could crush any unfortunate enough to be caught beneath it. Tendrils sprouted from its back, wriggling and whirling in excited motion at the idea of prey. The clouds parted to reveal the moon in all its glory, illuminating the oranges and reds of the fire, and showing the full extent of the now summoned creature. SALAGOSSSHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS With not a soul to hear, all that remained of Kakariko were the ruined buildings on both sides of our heroes and Eldin's spring residing a ways behind Salagoss, who lowered himself even further, taking on the full stance of a quadruped. It was about to begin. With a deafening roar, it charged forward on all fours towards the fighters, lowering its head to gore the group, the ground shaking with each impact as it advanced. As the trendils stabbed into Fress and the voices began to assault him with threats of death, something deep in his soul allowed him to resist the mental assault. After being splatter into a wall, the Twili Messenger found the determination to stand up once again. Unfortunately, the girl who had been his foe had switched out with a more beastly enemy. In order to both conserve his energy and quickly dodge the horn, he changed into his beast form. Now an anthropomorphic two tailed fox in a blue hoodie, Fress summoned all three of his currently useable Shadow Attack projectiles, shaped like shooting stars.
"Hey, El Toro," he called out to the beast, "try these red hot nachos on for size!!!"
Fress let out a big "Mweh Heh Heh" as he threw his attacks at the bull.

Volga's assault found its mark, and he immediately found himself wrapped in numerous tendrils. Though he tried to fight them, he found himself unable to move at all from the sheer number of them constraining him. He could only watch as the attack ultimately amounted to nothing, with the very weapon dissolving into liquid and the wound closing itself as if it were never there. He was glad he grabbed one of the broken swords off the ground for that.
Nimue then mentioned Castle Town, not even registering that her fight was with those before her, and Volga found himself now flying through the air. He didn't have time to attempt any kind of course correction, only to brace himself for impact and protect his head. The dragon knight's body impacted the side of one of the houses, hard, and break through the wall to land within the house itself. His landing ultimately had him breaking the dinner table, leaving him in a pile of wooden wreckage from the wall and the table, but he was alive. His armor had protected his body against any debris piercing him or breaking anything from the impact. Granted, even with his attempts, he couldn't fully protect his head from the force of impact that shook his entire body.
Consciousness may have been lost for a few moments. Volga soon found himself able to move again, though shakily as his mind was still reeling from the blunt force. Retrieving his spear with one hand, bracing himself against the wall with the other, he made his way to the point of entry, and saw their opponent had been changed out for a much larger beast made entirely of shadows. This one was vastly different from the last one, with only two blue lights for eyes and a massive frame.
His thoughts were interrupted by heat, the flames now spreading to the portion of the building he was inside of. As he steadily regained coordinated functionality, he climbed out of the building and stood just far enough away to not get caught in the flames. Pulling the broken greatsword from his back with his off hand, he gave a solid one-armed swing of the blade, producing a crescent blade of energy aimed right for the shadow beast. The light of the beam stood out against the backdrop of darkness that was the target, as the crimson light of the flames only grew in what was quickly becoming a hell on earth.

[googlefont=Roboto] What I fear and what I've tried
Words I say and what I hide
All the pain, I want it to end
But I want it again
As quickly as the woman had arrived, she had left with a hunger for something more divine. The princess, perhaps? Surely she couldn't let it escape and head back to her home - she didn't want to think of the consequences that followed for the city. So many of her loved ones were there, and she began to panic. "No--you can't just leave without a better fight!" she growled, taking charge as she began to dash toward Nimue's trail.
She was interrupted immediately by the entrance of a new beast - one far bigger and more menacing. Frozen in place, her eyes circled around it to try and gauge just how powerful this thing was. Was this the same kind of beast that attacked Ordon? She took a few steps back, looking to the others who were ready to put up a fight. Scattered, disorganized, and for the most part unsure of how to proceed. With how little of a fight Nimue had to put up, there was no way they'd be able to take this thing down if they didn't work together.
She turned to the others as she watched them brace themselves, continue their fight, and ignore whatever pain lingered from the previous battle. "Guys--we need to work together on this. If we keep attacking without a proper footing or plan, we're toast. We need to act as a singular unit rather than a bunch of separate opponents!"
Blade in hand, she began circling around the beast, waiting and watching to see what kind of attacks it had, and where there could be a possible weak spot. She didn't have anything beside her blade. Perhaps she was useless in that sense - however, whatever she lacked in strength through magic, her mind and experience as a tactician made up for.
"Everyone should attack from different angles! Keep it distracted so that its eyes can't follow all of us! When it moves in for an attack for one person, all others should deploy an attack of their own!"
