"Wait, don't--" Not only had the fae little time to do anything before she had been forcibly flown away, she didn't even have the time to try to get the Twili to stop the attack he deemed necessary to launch.
No, no, no! Her internal curses were far greater than the external ones she failed to utter. If he didn't want to feel useless, then he shouldn't have taken that moment to entirely derail what Dieter tried to do, and instead should have gone over to the deku in order to help him move toward the human! She hadn't even had the time to really tend to him properly, and he was going to get himself hurt again!
It wasn't about giving up on anything. It was about being smart enough and swallow pride if necessary. Did that concept get lost along the way?
She couldn't make her escape. Not now. As much as she wanted to, leaving the Twili to suffer while she fled toward the spring... no, it just wasn't an option for her.
In the end, Dieter's actions would most likely be in complete vain. A pity.
"Good, he'll be safe," Nerine murmured under her breath upon seeing Dieter assisted by the red-clad warrior. His taunts to Fress were a bit harsh, weren't they? The bitterness couldn't be ignored.
At the same time, she ran to the edge of the roof Fress had deposited her on and jumped off, taking flight as her wings materialized on her back in her larger form. After this, she'd nap for ages and whoever interrupted her would get bitten be a grumpy member of the faefolk.
When she was within a better range - close enough to the behemoth to throw multiple orbs near his eyes in a better effort to keep him blinded for more than a few seconds but far enough away to hopefully refrain from being the easiest target to swat at and send crashing through a wall - she gave it as much as she could, calling forth seven orbs of light with her energy and manipulating them in place rapidly.
Would it work? Honestly, she had no idea. And if Fress didn't take the time to get himself to safety, what more could she do for him? Either way, she didn't stick around long, making her way by air toward the spring after the others. MADE BY ★MEULK

At this point, Fress was tempted to get off the beast and kill Volga himself. However, he had bigger problems. Letting his sword rip through the beast, Fress slid down the side of its face. Now, all that was left to do was hide in the shadows. However, there was one last thing he had to do. While in the shadows, Fress summoned a Shadow Attack projectile and shot it at Volga out of spite. "Try killing me with a shooting star in your eye," he thought to himself.

There is no posting order, which means that you don't have to wait for someone else to post before you. It does not mean you may post multiple times before the boss. Apparently I have to explain it like you're three, because like you're five is too difficult. Nerine's healing did help Fress. While it couldn't heal everything quickly enough, the breaks became mere fractures, much like they had with Dieter. Although the holes punctured in by Nimue earlier had finally closed, and it was safe to say those were no longer an issue. [FRESS'S WOUNDS HAVE BEEN DOWNGRADED FROM MAJOR TO MODERATE] And for once, the power of coordination shined. The building finally began to part from its foundation when the sticky bomb dropped down and stuck itself to Salagoss's head before exploding. The colossus roared in pain as a chunk of its head seemed to be missing entirely. It would have immediately reached out to crush Dieter and finish the job once and for all, but Fress took its attention once again. It reached out to grab the Twili, but before its hand could wrap around Fress, the blinding light of Nerine's orbs once again blinded it as it groaned. This distraction allowed would normally would have been a suicidal attack to succeed, driving the blade into Salagoss's head before falling down its side and away to safety. Its sight returned as the fairy fled and the Deku was carried away. Instead, it merely watched its shadow. It also meant that it wasn't moving towards the spring. When the attack of the star came from Salagoss's shadow, the colossus wasted no time and took advantage of the opening between shadow and light. His massive hand reached in, wrapping around Fress and brutally yanking him from the shadows, jolting the ribs, but causing no further damage. Surely he would be thrown into another building, or slammed into the ground, or crushed in the colossus's grip but... nope. As the attack went whirling towards Volga, Salagoss watched the attack and... gently lowered Fress to the ground. Salagoss looked at Volga with Dieter before it looked at Fress. So clearly they were enemies then. Salagoss dipped one clawed finger into his own shadow, and at once it seemed to diminish before it handily healed the wounds that it had sustained from Fress, leaving the Shadow of the Colossus without its own shadow. Dieter's bombs would take a bit more and the spear wound just wasn't healing period, but that was okay. It reached over to the shadow of a building, dipping a claw in so it could begin to draw from that. The colossus flipped over its otherhand, laying it palm up by the Twili before giving him a curious look. It was an invitation to step into the palm of its hand and ride it towards destiny. Words weren't entirely needed for this, the question, even from a beast, was obvious. It was a deal, an offer to team up against a common foe. "You and I are on the same side. Help me kill all these shmucks, and I will help you with your vengeance." Its gaze said to the Twili. All Fress had to do was get on its palm. Fress hesitated for a bit on the matter of joining this creature. On one hand. he would finnaly be taken seriously after years of being mocked and shunned by the messengers. On the other hand, he did just hear that there was going to be some form of light related magic coming up soon if they were to chase after the others. Would it really be worth the risk of his own life just to see one guy get what was coming to him? No. This wasn't right. Princess Midna would never ant this kind of evil.
"I'm sorry," he said, wondering if the beast would understand, "but I can't. I have obligations to others that would prefer I not go down this path. Do what you have to. but just leave me out of it."
Sheathing his sword, Fress reverted back to his Twili form and melded with the shadow of a destroyed house to avoid getting caught in what's-his-name's little magic act.

She looked back. In that moment where red tinted her vision, she wished she hadn't.
The Twili, in self-indignation, threw a projectile at the warrior helping the deku toward the spring. Her altered flight path sent her stumbling in a roll once she hit the ground and threw out another orb of light in an attempt to either destroy the shadow attack with the opposing element or at least redirect it so it didn't have a chance to get close to them.
To protect the one helping Dieter? Partially. To potentially defuse a murderous situation that may or may not occur afterward? If you bet your rupees on that one, you'd come out a winner with a cuckoo dinner.
If only she had been far enough away to not hear the words of the Twili. If only she had been closer to the others. If only she could later pretend that one of their own openly betrayed them in the heat of the moment. There were few things that the fae could not forgive, and Fress' choice made out of effort to prove himself worthy, good intentions or not, fell on a dangerous line.
They needed to capture the attention of the beast again. If not, going to the spring would be useless and they'd only more pieces of the village to pick up.
Stopping in her tracks, Nerine rounded and cupped her hands over her mouth, and raised her voice as loud as she could. "HEY. YOU BIG, STUPID COW. COME OVER HERE, OR ARE YOU TOO FAT AND SLOW, YOU BUTTFACE?!"
...clearly, the faerie needed to work on her taunts.
(But hey, if it worked, she'd fly as fast as her tired wings could carry her to Eldin's water!) MADE BY ★MEULK

"Well don't just keep attacking it, you idiot! You need to hide or you'll be wiped out by the holy light!" Ashei growled at Fress, who had continued taunting the beast to no avail. However, it seemed the Twili had been learning his lesson after several failed attempts, finally retreating to the shadows and the others following suit to her plan.
Taking a deep sigh in relief, she stood firm as the others circled around to bring its attention. Scooping small rocks from the ground, she waited until the others were out of range from the colossus before flicking up one of the pebbles into the head of the beast, fixing its attention to her with a determined gaze. "OVER HERE! YOU WANT TO WATCH US BURN, RIGHT!?"
Once gazes would be exchanged, she booked it around the corner, running quickly back toward the spring as she watched for the impending beast's following. She couldn't waver in her speed, now that possible aggro was on her as she continued to press forward, hoping by the goddesses' mercy that the others wouldn't be struck down in the process.

[/b] And without a single strike all around? You guys rock. When Fress refused the offer, Salagoss didn't take it well. Its hand raised and came crashing down on empty ground as Fress had already retreated into the shadows, away from the fight. Apparently it took a murderous creature of shadow acknowledging him as a friend to get him to calm down, but hey, it got the job done. A pity though, two on four would have been a far fairer fight, one supposed. Although not really, considering what was about to come next. As Fress's star went forward to attack Volga, the Dragon Knight already had his back to the Twili, so the start plinked harmlessly off the helmet and dissipated into nothing. Dragonbone wasn't exactly something you could sneeze off. Nerine's light ball was too late but unnecessary, as the bright flash alerted Salagoss, who paused only for a moment, as Ashei's pebble flicked it in the head and did nothing. But at least it was a step in the right direction for the group. The shadow of the building vanished as the colossus healed itself up, the wound inflicted by Dieter's bombs having been replaced with new... flesh? Shadow? Well, regardless, aside from the hole in its butt, Salagoss was as good as new. With Dieter having elected not to use any more bombs, and Volga running the Deku down to the spring, it had nothing really in the way of the plan. It began to lumber forth on its legs and knuckles, each step causing the ground to shake as it slowly closed the distance with the heroes of light. Finally it stopped, its feet firmly in the waters of the spring as it eclipsed the group. It stared at them all malevolently as it raised its fists, ready to bring down the hammers. And then at once, night became day. A golden light that dispelled the night itself burst forth from the spring as a massive owl, gold and white in appearance and glowing with all the light of the sun, sprang from the waters. Salagoss roared in agony as black wisps of shadow began to burn away like fire to tinder. It reared back one of its fists and struck out at the light sprit, its arm rapidly disintegrating in the motion. The blow connected, sending the divine being reeling away as it slammed into the stony wall behind it. Its light barely diminished, as Salagoss writhed in agony. Still it pressed on, ignoring the group and advancing, placing the remnants of its arms against the natural rock wall of the spring, and using it to begin advancing over the edge that would take it into the depths of the water. At least before Eldin recovered. With a shrill cry, the Light Spirit flew back in a quick burst, its talons lodging themselves in the colossus's shoulders. Salagoss reached out to strike Eldin again, but with its form rapidly weakening and diminishing, its arms crumbled like ash in the wind. With no way to defend itself, Salagoss found itself fouling onto its back as Eldin began to gouge out its eyes with their beak, before stabbing it into the colossus's neck. While the attacks hurt, it was ultimately the light that continued to shine that burned Salagoss away until at last, nothing remained. The battle was over, Salagoss had been destroyed. And just like that, the threat had passed. There were four in the spring while one remained in the shadows to protect itself. Eldin tilted its head at the four. "A pity, I thought I had something witty for this." Alas, even with ancient wisdom, one was not good at coming up with one liners on the spot. It began to preen its wings. Guess even ancient spirits that served the gods had to fulfill their animal instincts at times. "Hum. I suppose you had a good rest then?" Its head turned away from the group, looking in the direction of the spring. At the top of the rock, was a golden wolf, with one red eye. Strapped to its back was a sword and a shield. The shield seemed odd. A gold rimmed shield with a shining reflection of a screaming face, but the light of Eldin seemed to simply reflect off it. The sword strangely, had no sheath, exposing its blade for all to see; a light color of purple, with two black roses engraved in a green box. The wolf hopped down the rocks nimbly, and landed by the four. It looked at them incredulously before turning its gaze to Eldin. "You're a bit late, you know." Eldin chided with a shaking of its head. "If you wished to--" And the wolf sped away from them all, rushing towards the entrance of Kakariko at a speed none of them could hope to match. Something had lit the wolf's tail on fire, that much was for sure. "The same as ever, I see." Eldin could only observe. The bird turned back to Kakariko, watching the flames lap at the buildings... followed by an enormous explosion as the city and the ground was rocked, leaving only a massive crater behind. Barnes's bomb shop had apparently finally gone off. It was good no one was nearby. Pieces of debris rained throughout the city, crashing into roofs as Kakariko began to collapse. For a time, Eldin said nothing, and only watched, extending its wing over the group to keep them safe before folding them back. "For the second time in a century, Kakariko burns, and again I could do nothing."It was a melancholy mood for the Light Spirit. It slumped a little as it continued to speak. "Those who were blessed here. Those who spoke their vows here. Those brought their children. Those who offered gifts and prayers. Those whom I loved all as my own, all gone, and again I am left alone." It was a strange thing. For the divine, for the immortal, it was a quaint idea; don't get attached, but when one watched them in their day to day lives, it was impossible not to. It watched where the wolf had gone. So they were all at work then. A collision was inevitable. How bad would the damage be? "You'd best hurry. She was headed to the Castle. I doubt you'll beat her there, but if you move quick enough, you might be able to minimize the damage." It turned and stepped further into its spring. "I will remain, as I always have, and mourn my loss."The light began to dim, and before long, it simply faded from view, leaving the group on their own. At this point, Fress knew the beast was done for. However, there was still the matter of whether h e was able to come out of shadow without getting hurt himself. Given the circumstance, the Twili thought it best to get out of there and settle his score with Red Head later.
"Pity we couldn't save the village," he thought to himself, "oh well."
Fress leaped through the shadows scattered around from the cliffs and boulders and took his leave. It was clear he needed to improve his fighting skills and he knew of some places he could attempt that.

The light of the divine chased away the darkness of the unspeakable, saving the remains of a once glorious village. Twice, the ancient spirit said, in one century. It would rebuild, wouldn't it? Kakariko's existence didn't cease upon destruction. People would return and claim the land once more, and the cycle would continue on all over again.
She didn't want to think about that, though. She didn't really want to think about anything at all.
Exhaustion gripped her and her legs, feeling all too much like that almond jelly she tried the other day, wobbled underneath her weight. A tiny sigh of relief escaped her once she felt grass and dirt against her bare skin. Debris could keep raining from the sky for awhile for all she cared, just so long as the smoke didn't choke her near the spring.
It had been too long, much too long, since she used so much healing energy so quickly. Just five, ten minutes, and she'd be fine. Really. (Probably.)
If nothing else, Nerine proved one thing to those that remained -- she could sleep just about anywhere and fall into slumber extremely fast.
And there she'd stay, for an hour or two or many more, until the sun itself really did rise, or until something else happened and shook her from her quiet dreams. MADE BY ★MEULK

[googlefont=Open+Sans] 守りたいものを守れるのなら [attr="class","firstfriend"] すべてを受け入れて 未来(あした)を探す How ungrateful could Fress truly be? His blatant act of disrespect and hostility towards Volga spoke volumes about the true nature of his character. Certainly, Volga’s personality was abrasive and at times left much to be desired, however no one could deny his prowess on the battleground. What truly unnerve the Deku was the shade shuriken ricocheting off Volga’s drakebone helm just a fraction of an inch from his head. His forearm tightened around Volga’s torso as he arced his body in such a way that he could watch over Nerine. Not that the fae-folk necessarily needed it, she’d already proved that she was more than capable of handling herself. However, he still wasn’t certain of much about Ashei aside from the fact she was quite athletic. His heart sunk a bit deeper in the bit of his chest as he’d watched the colossus began to repair itself. His eyes widened in unvoiced horror as it lumbered closer.
It stopped dead in its’ track as the Eldin Springs came to life, its’ depths pulsating with uninhibited divine might. The instance said might surged forth, night had become day. Salagoss’ agonized cries echoed throughout the Spring as its’ body was eroded away. He’d watched as the black wispy tendrils danced freely, some of them glowered like the dying embers of a campfire. Salagoss ignored the group of warriors in favor of pursuing its’ bigger threat, Eldin, who had recovered with a shrill cry. Its’ talons outstretch flexed before they’d cleaved deep, quickly leading to them crumbling into nothingness. Eldin addressed them all curtly before its’ attention turned towards something in the distance. Dieter followed its’ gaze to a golden wolf that remained atop the pile of rocks. Its’ singular red eye pierced into the depth of one’s souls.
It had a sword and shield strapped to its’ back, however neither of the two were particularly normal or standard. The sword had no sheathe, its’ blade an amaranthine hue and its’ decorations were that of two black roses in a green box. The shield was rimmed with gold and had been painstakingly decorated with a depiction of a screaming face. It bolted off before Eldrin could chastise it fully for its’ tardy arrival. He’d said nothing as ELdin turned to the city it was duty bound to oversee. He’d finally let himself fall from Volga’s back, letting out a pained wince as he’d clutched his side. His eyes widening in surprise as a resounding boom echoed out, what was left in its’ wake was a large crater. Eldin lamented in its’ inability to save those it was charged to protected.
It was stopped dead in its’ track as the Eldin Spring came alive, its’ depths pulsated with divine might that surged forth. In an instance, night had become day. What unfolded before him next was truly something he’d never forget. The duo battled against one another valiantly and it was clear which side held the upper hand.
“ I am sorry for loss, just known that will live on, within your memories.”
Dieter said softly, his words were sincere and wise beyond his perceived age. His attention turned towards Volga once more.
“On behalf of the Deku King and Queen, I would like to formally extend you, Volga and Nerine, an invitation to join the Deku Palace Guard’s ranks. The selflessness that you displayed today, it speaks volume of your true character, the type of character that I as Captain of the Guard wishes to see. Alas, I don’t have a spear to gift you at this time, but you did mention for me to visit you, I assume that offer still stands?”
Dieter articulated calmly, his words trailing off as he saw Nerine’s figure crumple to the ground. He sighed to himself as he’d grabbed the sleeping fairy and cradled her near his chest.
“I can’t linger much longer, I must take her to safety, I will be mobilizing my guard, we can’t allow Castle Town to suffer the same the same fate as Ordon Village.”
He said softly before he’d pivoted on his heel to leave. It would be a long journey, but a necessarily one none the less. ✉ | Sorry it's short, first post in a bit. |

An owl? Wouldn't have been Volga's first guess at the form of an all-powerful light spirit, but he wasn't going to question it. The thing was killing the shadow beast for them. The plan worked just as he hoped it would. Save for one particular shadow being constantly throwing a wrench in it. Though Volga couldn't see him around after the fight's resolution, not even cheekily peeking his face out of a shadow. Still wasn't sure how he did that, but it was a question for another day. If the boy left, then his death promise was taken seriously. Ideally that meant he wouldn't have to deal with him anymore.
Though he was distracted from much of Eldin's speech by his visual search for the shadow boy, he did catch when the wolf showed up. Once again, something was nagging him about that wolf. Something very similar to the pulling on his soul when he first found the remains in Eldin caves. It was different though. Before he could really process it further though, as quickly as the wolf appeared it left, leaving him with more questions than answers. Which then bled into the deku getting his attention, with some sort of announcement for him?
"As long as the title doesn't mean forsaking my home, then I'll accept it. And yes the offer still stands." Volga remarked rather calmly compared to how he'd been for most of the night thus far. Then again, when you're fighting a murderous shadow monster, calm speech doesn't really do much.
"Get the fairy to safety, she earned her keep. I will not be joining your crusade to Castle Town; if the failing royalty of this land intend to stay in power, this is a good chance to prove their worth. Besides, I've been away too long. Lizalfos require regular reminders so the Goron can do whatever it is they do. Something tells me more than ever they'll need that right now." the dragon knight gave a surprising amount of information, perhaps a bit talkative after what was a more exciting experience. He turned his gaze to the human girl, the one that made the plan possible, "You show potential, strength of heart, and functional ears; something a certain other individual could use more of. If you desire to strengthen your strength of arm and combat prowess, come to the caves of the Eldin mountains. If you run into any Lizalfos, tell them Volga invited you. If they still try to eat you...take it as your first test."
And so Volga left the spring, going the opposite way of Castle Town and headed further into the mountains of Eldin. He had plans for that Deku Spear when it arrived. And ideas further on ways to improve his versatility with the spear.

[googlefont=Roboto] What I fear and what I've tried

It was over.
Or so she thought. But watching divine power take hold of blight and corruption and banishing it away was something a bit more than what Ashei had been bargaining for. She wasn't sure if she was frozen in awe or terror. But as the evil diminished from the lands, new information came to light, and Ashei found it hard to process it all.
Nimue was heading for Castle Town.
She was heading to her friends. To her father. To the queen. Her mouth was dry with anxiety slowly crawling up the back of her throat like bile, and it was hard to breathe. The thought of losing everyone to such calamity gave her an intense fear, slowly manifesting itself into her mannerisms as she began to pace, trying to figure out what to do next.
Should she go to Ordon Village like originally planned? Or does she return to try and save everyone? Would she even make it in time? The Resistance was counting on her to search for Rusl.
But... but...
"Goddess, damn you," she cursed under her breath with frustration as she immediately took off for the Western gates, heading back for the castle.
She needed them all to be safe. There must be more that they could do - there wasn't a spring in reach to save them this time.
