Ashe faced a great predicament. How could the princess retreat with a clear conscious? What about these civilians? And now someone else had jumped into the fray. She knew she had to stay. What was her purpose as a Knight if not to protect Hyrule? How could Zelda leave, knowing that this thing could spread and kill more ? She was ashamed of the actions the princess made. And so she just had to prove herself that much more.
With the princess gone, she could now focus on actually helping instead of being a bodyguard. Ashe noted how another spear user had come, andshe gave him a curt nod before springing into the air. Keldric's sword wielded now by the young Hylian, seemed to do the trick of shattering the eyes. There was another one that was damaged, and a few more yet remained.
Ashe readiedher spear before lunging at Ziegess, her pointed blade aimed at its weakened orb. She couldn't do a full Dragonsong Dive but it was still a dive nonetheless and maybe the fires emerging from her blade would help spread the damage.

[googlefont=Open+Sans] 守りたいものを守れるのなら [attr="class","firstfriend"] すべてを受け入れて 未来(あした)を探す A final arrow had left Zelda’s bow and tore through Ziegess’ arm, its’ divine light eroding at the shadowy construct from within until it severed the entire limb. Ziegess’ eyes shifted towards its’ newfound injury, the edges of it had already begun to undulate as it attempted to regenerate itself. However, his own assault seemed to stem such efforts, each glancing blow eroding a fraction of its’ silhouette. He smiled to himself as he saw Ziegess’ remaining arm extend towards the remnant of the house that housed Keldric, its’ retreat halted by Volga’s reeling blow. In that instance, Dieter had already begun to close the distance between them as it fell towards the ground. Link ceased a presented opportunity as he brandished Keldric’s blade and swung it down at one of the four remaining eyes, the resulting impact not only cracked the glowing orb but shattered it into countless fragments. Dieter casually spun his blade within hand so that the tip would raze across Ziegess’ body and cleave a path for him to sprint towards the eyes. He’d prayed that even the light contact of his spear would further disrupt its’ presence.
The Crimson Dragooness, Ashenne, once more joined the fray. Her halberd brandished as she dove towards Ziegess, the dying flickers of flames still clung to her silhouette. He made note of this an elected to stay out of the flames' reach. Still, the flames presence did little to deter Dieter's plan to deliver a hasty slash across yet another of its' remaining orbs. He'd even gone so far as to lower the Bomb mask across his face, preemptively preparing himself for if Ziegess attempted to consume as it had done Zelda; he doubted it would survive long enough to do so.

| lost in the playground late night nostalgia open the sky for me now What about the civilians, indeed? The house which the unfortunate Ser Keldric found himself crashing through, crumbled further than it already had, as a fallen support beam was jostled out of place. Residual chunks of wall and ceiling shuffled aside, as a gloved arm weakly snaked from its burial. A groggy and bruised young man with dust-caked blonde hair crawled his way to freedom, coughing and gasping for the first proper breath he'd drawn in hours. For those that could recognize him, it was Colin, son of Rusl the Protector. As he struggled to stay alive, he laid in a puddle of destruction and filth, only to see his only home torn into a hell-scape of chaos. His village had been leveled into an unimaginable horror, and he hadn't even been conscious when he was needed most.Defeated tears rolled over his cheek as he sneered at the creatures that polluted his cherished home. He hated them, he hated that his fears had finally come true, and he wasn't powerful enough to protect the people he loved from their inevitable doom. Tragedy had hit him as hard as it had hit Ordon itself, and no amount of therapy was going to help him now. There was only one choice left for Colin; bend, or break...So he snapped.Colin's brought himself to stand, looking frail as the wind blew soot that trailed from his body. His wrists trembled and twitched as he reached for the Ordon Steel Langes Messer that his father had forged him in his coming of age. As his bangs flapped in his eye, he sloppily ripped the blade from its scabbard, letting it grind loudly against the lip. The tip of the blade whipped around, and sparked as it split a clay roofing tile that laid in a pile on the floor.Colin slugged one foot in front of the other rolling his left shoulder, only to find that his arm had fallen asleep! Colin winced, pressing his tongue against the back of his barred teeth. The blade was long, and meant for use with both of his hands, but Colin was too upset to let that be a problem for him. He hoisted the single-edge blade onto his shoulder, letting the spine of the Messer rest on his clavicle.Colin charged toward Ziegess, leaving a trail of refuse behind him as his heels dug deeper and deeper into the dirt with every step. That accursed, shapeless creature had 'evil' written all over it, and 'threat assessment' was not a priority for a young man with a death wish. The desperate young boy had thrown himself wantonly into the fray; his left arm flailing behind him as he buzzed past link's shoulder with all the fury of a charging Ordon Goat. Colin kicked up splatters of mud as his heels dug in to strafe-attack the dark and mysterious creature. The blade rolled off Colin's shoulder as he threw his whole upper body into the swing.
He shouted his frustrations at the creature, goading its fury -- appearing fearless in his borderline madness. His emphasis fell on certain words as he struck, throwing every ounce of fear, torment and hatred he felt into each strike.
First, he came down from his right, letting the momentum of the blade cleave its tip through the skin of the creature."I was supposed to die FOR them!" Colin hopped sideways, making a nuisance of himself as he made a second flanking lash from the low left."... but you STOLE them from me!" Finally, Colin came to a hard stop, and buried the tip of his blade into the 'flesh' of the creature, and twisted it in a wide, conical arc clockwise. He scowled furiously at the beast, making it very clear he hadn't a thing to lose."NOW, LOOK ME IN THE EYES - BEFORE YOU KILL ME!" |

How sweet it felt, relief washing over his body like a wave lapping against the white sand of a beach. Alive. Colin lived. One person rose from the tattered remains of Ordon, and while it didn't ease the way his heart ached over the unknown condition of everyone else, even a glimmer of hope in the form of a survivor helped in that dark moment.
Or... it did, if only momentarily, before the words of the youth threatened to push him back into that pit of despair.
No, not then or there. He couldn't falter. Breathing heavily, the blond hylian lifted his borrowed blade and aimed at the third orb-like eye. The spear-wielding warrior and the deku covered two of the remaining eyes, and while the dragooness assisted the new arrival, he could handle the last one. Hopefully this gave the leader woman time to escape safely and the fallen man to come to his senses.
Would it be enough? His mind raced and his heart hammered against his ribs with enough force to crack them, were such a thing possible.
Part of him wanted to shout out to Colin, to call for him to fall back somewhere safer. But he didn't have that right, nor could they afford to lose all of the help they had.
Later. Soon, he hoped. They'd figure out what to do next. When they all survived. MADE BY ★MEULK

[/b] I would say the round has been reset but... With one arm and finally being mobbed like it should have been from the beginning, Ziegess was a relatively easy target. As Colin hacked away at it, his wish would be partially granted. Two glowing red orbs and one cracked orb shot over to stare at Colin dead on, letting out a deafening roar as its arm finally began to regenerate. The black mass began to bulge again, as spikes began to shoot out from its chest, aiming to run Colin through and grant his wish. It could feast on the flesh, regenerate its strength. And then so much for that. Volga's spear crashed into Ziegess's damaged eye, followed by Ashe's lance. The two blows were more than enough to crack it and give it the final pause. Dieter's spear cut through one of the damaged orbs, causing it to dissipate into nothingness, and the sword of light shattered the other. Ziegess stopped. The spikes stopped. Everything seemed to stop as a second passed, followed by one more. No lights glared but the morning sun. The black mass was no longer moving. And then, bit by bit, it disintegrated. It caught in the wind and the black particles began to flow and fade away as it vanished from existence, the wounds inflicted and the damage caused being the only indicators that it had ever existed. The five warriors stood victorious, but no sounds were made. It would be a while before the animals returned here. It would be a while before people came back and rebuilt. Ordon was gone, that was the simple truth. The survivors lives were destroyed, and all that could be done was to start again. That was that. The thing that Volga, for whatever reason, was brought out here to fight was defeated. His spear pierced the orb with a satisfying impact before the beast seemed to fade away. He couldn't help but let out a dissatisfied sigh as he retrieved his broken sword, sheathing it on his back and resting his spear on his shoulder. It was underwhelming. He showed up seemingly right as the beast was on death's door. He couldn't imagine that was the beginning of the fight. Not with the state of...wherever this was. However, looking to the horizon, he could see some vaguely familiar peaks in the distance. He at least had an idea of how to get home.
"Small one," he looked to the Deku for a moment, "Hylian," he then looked to Link for a moment, "You two at least seem to have some honor and sense of duty. Should you be in Eldin, enter the caves and seek me out. You will be welcome there. Simply follow the path left open by the Lizalfos."
And with that, he left. As suddenly as he arrived, he began what would likely be a very long trip home.

Just like that, what began was over. He waited, breath held, for something to change. For buildings to magically repair themselves. For people to walk out of houses as if nothing happened. For something--anything--to show that his home... that Colin's home... would be fine. Would be restored, fixed, repaired. Something, anything.
But there was nothing. There was just the breathing of those around him and the thundering of his own breaking heart.
Ilia's bow, having been tossed aside momentarily in favor of picking up the enchanted sword of the fallen knight, now seemed like the most precious thing in the world. He knelt by it, running his fingers over the bow and touching the taut string. His breath hitched in his throat, and in that moment, the weight of reality crushed down on him harder than anything ever had.
Ordon and those who lived there weren't ever going to be the same again.
In his selfish heart, he dreamed of leaving the sleepy village behind to make a name for himself in the greater world out there. He wondered what it would like to become a hero, a true hero, and come back to bring prosperity to his home, rather than simply be the 'big brother' figure most of the younger folk looked up to. But he'd never truly had the guts to actually follow through with those desires, because when it came down to it, he had always been too comfortable. An excuse here, another reason there.
The words of the red-clad warrior didn't fall on deaf ears, but he found himself unable to do any more than nod in acknowledgement. Eldin, a mental note made. Caves.
Would the dragoonness be able to carry her fallen comrade to safety? She looked more than capable enough, and with any luck, the leader of their group hadn't made it too far away yet. She could find assistance there if needed.
The deku... twice now, he showed up when needed. Words refused to escape him still, yet he at least managed to muster a look of gratitude. Or so he hoped; he couldn't quite tell if anything made it to his eyes beyond pain.
"Let's go, Colin." Link's voice, in the very least, didn't favor. Lifting Ilia's bow (he'd find her no matter what it took) and turning, he began to head toward the main path out of the village. For now, they needed some distance. They needed a chance to rest, to eat, and to think.
And then? To figure out what to do next. exit post (totes stealing keldric's sword until he and link meet again +w+!) also dieter if you wanna do the invite for training thing, link'll agree and follow MADE BY ★MEULK

[googlefont=Open+Sans] 守りたいものを守れるのなら [attr="class","firstfriend"] すべてを受け入れて 未来(あした)を探す Volga’s invite didn’t fall upon deaf ears, Dieter curtly nodded his head in response, never quite letting his gaze drift away from Colin and Link; the two sole survivors of the Ordon tragedy. The Deku took a few cautious steps towards Link as he knelt down by Ilia’s bow, which he’d discarded earlier to brandish Keldric’s blade. He saw the way Link tenderly ran his fingers along its’ length and toyed with the taunt string. He could hear the way that Link’s breathe hitched in his chest as he mourned the loss of a friend. His head craned towards Ashenne, whom he offered a kind-hearted yet tired smile as he pursued Link. He ignored the pain in order to sprint after the Hylian youth, his hand gently encircling his wrist. If Link continued to trudge forward, he’d find that despite his lithe figure, he possessed a vice like grip.
“ I am sorry for you loss, On behalf of the Deku Kingdom, I offer both of you sanctuary within our domain… “
Dieter paused for a moment letting what he said sink in before he extended his second offer.
“ You are foolish, brave but very foolish. You disregarded your own safety for a stranger you hardly know… You have the heart of a warrior, if you’d so chose, I will gladly tutor you in the art of combat. You don’t need to answer now. Just if you come to the Deku Palace, tell them Wolfram sent you.”
He said with a final smile before he parted ways with them. Strangely enough, he wasn’t heading towards the Deku Palace but the Zora Domain, he afterall had a promise to keep. ✉ | Sorry it's short, first post in a bit. |

| lost in the playground late night nostalgia open the sky for me now Colin's head turned rapidly, his dilated pupils widening as he finally had at least one thing left in his life. "L-Link..?" Colin's expression fell flat, as his face paled. It was like Colin's soul had gone on a journey through space and back. Perhaps his life wouldn't be completely alone; because at least one other person understood the pain this day brought.
His arm twitched, as he could feel the blood in his body returning to a full flow. It was like he was coming back to being a human again. This was no way to greet his old friend; being the only survivor was embarrassing for the defender of the town. Colin was unable to read Link whenever things went wrong; because Link always seemed so cool and collected. Assuming that Link thought the worst of him, Colin's face wriggled into a desperate plea for forgiveness as he sputtered, "Link -- you have to believe me, I did everything to help evacuate -- I did what I could to protect them; I managed to save Beth, but -- they dropped the roof on me! I was trapped! I don't know if -- anyone even made it out alive..."
Colin looked at his toes, before reluctantly agreeing with Link's very sound decision to leave. "I... I can explain more later -- there's nothing left for us here, is there?"
He nodded at Dieter, still staring off into the distance, shocked by whom he had become when all truly was lost. "The Deku Palace is the only place we have left to go, I guess. I'll do what I can to repay your offer."
Colin laid the flat of his blade against his arm, holding himself, suddenly feeling very cold and alone. He wandered away from town, perhaps wishing instead that there was someone left in Ordon to evacuate, but really -- he was the evacuee here; and that bothered him more than anything.

Thank the gods, the beast had been destroyed. At least she would be able to rest easy, knowing that terror wouldn't be released on Hyrule. But the taste of victory was quite bitter. They had won but not without casualties. They had won, butjust barely.
Ashenne didn't say much as she walked over to Keldric. What could she really say? Her home was not lost. She simply nodded to Link and Dieter before stooping to hoist Keldric's arm over her shoulder.
The trek home would be long and tiring, but hopefully Zelda would realize Ashe had stayed behind and wait for her. She could carry him like this for a while but with her own injuries, she would need rest eventually.
She only hoped the others would find the rest and help they'd need.
