So here is our October event, the Masquerade! I figured it would be fitting for the month that also gives us Halloween in order to enjoy ourselves a bit.

The Masquerade is part relaxing, part ~mystery.~ When the event proper begins on October 10th, I will create a separate board where guests may post, this is important, okay? I'm going to say this once, and I'm going to make it very loud, and very clear.

YOU CANNOT POST ON YOUR ACCOUNTS IN THAT BOARD.

A Masquerade is a ball in which the participants show up in costume with masks to hide their identity. No one knows who anyone there is, which is why instead of posting on your accounts, I will give you aliases that you will go by in the event proper, as guests. Seriously, post as guests. I can't stress that enough. This is important.

You see, while it's a simple event dance, the game proper is that you, the player, need to figure out who's who in the dance. Every character will have an alias attached that they're using. The goal of every player should be to hide as much detail about who they are as they can. This means showing up and flaunting your tails if you got them probably isn't the best idea (unless you can write it off as part of the costume). If you use a particular color for your character's dialogue, you may want to consider bolding it instead for this event. Do not use templates. Don't make it easy - that'd be boring~

If you give up your character (i.e. I go around saying Alexander is this or Alex takes off the mask to reveal himself), you're out. Not the character, you. You don't get to guess who's who. I am legitimately willing to forgive accidental slips (accidentally calling your character by their name in the narrative) and will try and fix it ASAP but... yeah, if everyone guesses correctly with you, that's on you. So PROOFREAD! PROOFREAD! PROOFREAD! ALWAYS refer to your character by the alias I give them!

For the rest~ Simply enjoy the event, and use it for one event where your character can be someone they're not with (mostly) no consequences~ Seriously, don't kill anybody. SIMPLY POST TO THIS THREAD TO SIGN UP! SIGN UPS WILL GO UNTIL THE 10TH! YOU WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE YOUR GUESSES WHEN THE EVENT ENDS ON NOVEMBER 1ST!
