The corner of Dieter’s lips twitched, threatening to curl up into a full-blown smile as he ventured towards his personal sanctuary; a grove located on the outskirts of the Deku Swamp. He’d daringly reached out so that the tips of his fingers danced along the course bark of the surrounding trees. His azure eyes darted back and forth as he took note of his surroundings. He was momentarily enraptured with a nearby swarm of fireflies that danced daringly above the water’s pungent surface. To most the Swamp’s depths were daunting, each corner held potential dangers, hidden threats and unexplored secrets. His head craned backwards to inspect the source of an unidentifiable shadow cast upon the ground nearby. It was still breathtaking, the way that the harvest moon’s light filtered between the crack and gaps in the canopy.
A few minutes later, he found himself in the midst of his personal sanctuary. He’d padded forward savoring the sensation of the moist earth squelching beneath his toes. He continued until he found himself in the center of the grove, standing amidst a circlet of plush moss. His eyes drifted softly shut as he knelt to the ground, slowly lowering himself so that he could cross his legs. He took a singular deep breathe in an effort to clean his mind, preparing himself to begin yet another session of meditation; to further his connection with the earth. Before he got too comfortable, he heard the sound of branches snapping off in the distance. What was that? He’d questioned as he invoked his craft, Dryad’s Domain , he’d forced a series of seismic waves through the ground.
They’d reverberated through the earth with each intensifying vibration, a clearer picture was painted of his surroundings. Once he’d reached his very limits, he’d detected not one but two presences. But they were just far enough away that he couldn’t discern what they were doing or if they were inching closer.

| Anastasia tried to keep their steps as light as possible as they maneuvered through the swamp. Moments where they could move through the water rather than across the land was a blessing to this zora. With a heavy sigh, they stopped here and there by a few plants to take notes of their locations, but not taking any. The swamp was the Deku's home, and they weren't going to just up and take whatever they want. That was rude, plain and simple.
Standing upright they continued their path, wincing when they stepped on a branch, causing it to snap. Glorious. The epitome of grace! Sighing once more, they continued carrying on, the feeling of being watched beginning to become a prickling sensation they couldn't ignore. Out of curiosity, they furrowed their brow and called out, not too loud though. "Hello? Is there anyone here?" This area just felt like there'd be something here.
Be it animal or another being that could communicate with him, it was worth a shot. They were traveling alone, for the most part, but this swamp just felt more alive than it should've. Don't take their word though, they're a zora, after all. The swamp wasn't their calling.

❝ somewhere perfection lies ❞ Colin’s scent had faded amidst the thick musk of the swamp. Myrna felt a tinge of disappointment not able to locate the exact direction on where the kind boy from Ordon had gone. The sound of buzzing insects filled her vulpine ears with the ambiance of the prominent marshlands. The occasional frog chirping away added to the melodies of the swamp. Every now and then she could see the rustle of leaves or bushes from the corner of her vision. But what stood out to her was the unexpected call. She ducked down into the tall grass trying to discern the voice. One that indicated they weren’t expecting company. The voice was nearby. “Hello,” she called out. “I wouldn’t tread too far. Deku not known to be kind to trespassers. Swamps can be dangerous too.”Though she should’ve thought it through. Who would take the warning from a voice who didn’t know their forms? Myrna needed to test the waters (or so to speak) to make sure she wasn’t getting herself into harm’s way. The person whom she was talking too smelled different. He carried the scent of lands different from the swamps. A stranger. But she didn't sense hostility... at least yet. “What business does stranger have in swamps? Are you lost?” MADE BY LAIKA |

Anastasia’s voice resonated through the depths of the Deku Swamp, although when it did so it became distorted – pinpointing the exact location of its’ origin was virtually impossible; by traditional means that was. Without so much as a word, the Captain of the Guard rose from his seated position with his eyes still closed. He cautiously began to take small steps in each direction, his facial muscles tightening in dismay as the first few times failed to yield any further information. His lips curved upwards into a playful grin as he’d managed to momentarily detect the Zora’s presence through his craft. It quickly became apparent that whomever it was, they had not trekked this far into his domain alone – although neither’s posture indicated that they were hostile. Still, he knew that he couldn’t say that for certain until he’d gotten the chance to observe them for a bit longer.
Dieter took a few cautious steps in their direction, masking his presence by deliberately taking one step at a time. Once he’d inched a little closer, he’d not only detected Myrna’s presence among the tall grass, he could also hear her warning to the Zora. She wasn’t entirely correct though, Dieter welcomed explorers into their midst, although he typically chided them away from the Palace; few outside had earned the privilege to enter their sanctuary. The reason behind this were innumerable, one of the most pressing was the current Deku King and Queen’s condition – they were quickly deteriorating both physically and mentally; many of their followers speculated they wouldn’t survive the coming season. It pained him to admit it but Dieter was one of those speculators, his promotion ceremony had only reinforced his thoughts on that matter. He’d brushed such thoughts aside with a curt wave of his head as he’d made his way a bit closer.
He observed the duo with his eyes still tightly closed for another moment or two, curious to why Myrna was inquiring about the other’s presence in the swamp – they were both technically trespassing.
“She is right you know, although as long as you don’t stray too close to the Palace, I don’t mind the visitors – they are infrequent.”
Dieter said softly, his bell-like voice echoing throughout the Swamp. If they’d located him quickly enough, they’d notice that his eyes were still shut and his hands were interlocked in front of him – he hardly looked the part of the hardened warrior he was.
“That begs the question, why have you wandered so far into the Deku Swamp?”
He’d inquired, his head craning slightly to the left while he’d awaited the answer.

sorry it took so long ;-; | Anastasia perked and tensed at the same time when two voices sounded back to them. Clenching their gloved hands, Anastasia found the two that had spoken and nodded their head politely. "I am simply a scholar mind that's come to study the plants first hand and up close in their natural soils." They answered to the Deku, mostly. This was their domain after all, and you should always pay attention to the host first.
"I am Anastasia Morozova. A healer for the Zora Privateers." They admitted, head bowing again to the Deku. Once they raised their head again, the pushed their bangs to the side a little more and motioned. "I'm sorry if I disturbed anything." There would be no other sudden movements from the Zora. Ana wanted to make sure that they were on some sort of good terms with the native before continuing anymore movement.
They had no intent to go near the palace what-so-ever, mostly from a respect for the Deku race. Ana wouldn't appreciate random strangers running up into Zora's domain and into the throne room, so it was an understandable situation to be in.

Myrna perked up her fox ears as she turned her golden eyes to the appearance of an actual Deku. She expected to be interrogated. The Minish would take the risk of traversing into territory that wasn’t her own, but only when it involved something very important. “Hello mister Deku,” she greeted simply, “I am Myrna. I came in search for the human boy by the name of Colin. He is Deku Palace guard, yes? I am surprised Deku allowed him to enlist.” She looked around for a moment then nodded her head to the Zora. It didn’t seem like a harmful reason to be around. Still, even the most natural flora and fauna could be deadly weapons. Myrna wasn’t an expert on the matter, but she kept that caution. She didn’t doubt the Deku received many visitors. They were one of the more privy races in regards to political affairs. She still looked back over to the Zora with curiosity and a soft smile. “Hello there, Anastasia. It is nice to meet you. You too, deku sir.” Until she was given a name then that was all she could call him. “I mean no disturbance of any kind. I merely wish to bring the boy a message. It is regarding Ordon Village. Myrna is certain many of the woods learned of human village's destruction yes?” she asked looking to both of them.
