[/b] The Boss Fight has begun. Being a final boss, this one won't go down nearly as easily as the others did. Be smart. The round will reset 48 hours from now. THERE IS NO POSTING ORDER, BUT YOU MAY POST ONLY ONCE BEFORE THE BOSS. This is not a boss fight you want to strike out on. Even moreso than usual.
Hyrule Castle Town, really more of a city, was bustling with people and events at the height of the sun's course through the sky. As the largest gathering of people living in one place in all of Hyrule, this was a given. It was a bit more energetic than usual today, what with the unusual news of "the Princess coming through down" and "that one man who was detained by the Hylian Knights". The stories naturally got twisted and warped as they made their rounds, the detail about the napkin steadily getting lost with each iteration of the story, but it was just another thing to add life to this grand kingdom's capital. They would soon have another rumor to go around, as a strange woman with silver hair and red eyes descended on paper-thin, spider-like legs. Most hadn't noticed her arrival into town from beyond the wall, leaving a pair of very confused and irate Hylian Knights outside, so her "breaking and entering" wasn't really seen as such; she was just an oddity. Her bare feet touched the cobblestone road, and the ground beneath them immediately began changing into a liquid. She didn't seem to notice it, much to the confusion of on-lookers, and she began to walk while looking around, the ground dissolving beneath her feet with each step and the resulting liquid seeming to vanish in her heels. "It's so large here, there's so many people...I'd always heard about it from the knights passing through, but I've never seen Castle Town before~" she spoke with a child-like innocence, eyes wide with joy and a wide smile on her face. She stretched her arms out and began to twirl through the street, making the trail of dissolved cobblestone behind her all the stranger for one man that decided to do more than just watch this odd girl. She was destroying the road after all, what if a horse stepped in one of the holes and broke its leg? Cobblestone wasn't easy to repair! "Girl, you know what you're-" he began to speak, and as his hand made contact with her shoulder to stop her movement, he spoke no more. His brain couldn't register what had happened, but on-lookers could: the moment he touched her, the dress she wore split itself along its red edges and the split off portions extended out to skewer the man. Ten different tendrils pierce through him like spears, their black bodies momentarily stained red with blood before it was absorbed by the abyssal black. The girl barely recognized it happened until her shoulder was exposed and the man's hand began to dissolve from the points of contact. "Oh, thank you very much. I was getting a bit hungry..."And so she turned to face the man, hand now completely dissolved, and brought both of hers to touch his head. It took a couple minutes, as she seemed to be taking her time with it, but nobody was going to stop the girl. Even the one Hylian Knight in the area, while being begged by those around him, refused to move out of fear. As the girl's hands moved over the man, touching every part of his body, it was dissolved into a red liquid that then merged with her being. Nothing was left of him; clothes, tools, even a small knife for self defense were all dissolved into her. All that remained of the man was the memory of him. At least, in those that weren't the girl. "Aaaah, it's nice to take it slow sometimes to savor it..." she thought aloud with a satisfied sigh. The tone of it, if taken out of context, could almost be seen as erotic. But nobody there could think of it that way. They just watched a man silently be removed from existence by a single girl. They could not bring themselves to act, for fear of her wrath, nor flee, for fear of making themselves a target. The pressure in the air grew, with the crimson eyes beginning to casually survey the area, and with every pair of eyes fixated on her and her alone. It was less time than she'd taken to consume the man, but the silence that followed felt like an eternity to the citizens of Castle Town. Until a child broke the silence. A babe of barely a year out with her mother, who felt uncomfortable and finally cried out to their mother. Chaos ensued. From this point the people of Castle Town fled. Men, women, young, old, warrior, cobbler; no matter who it was, those that bore witness to the girl's act fled in any direction that took them "away from her". A primal instinct took over, the fight or flight response that told them "she was death", "she was a threat", "she would kill me". The girl tilted her head slightly, before giggling to herself. "It must be a game of hide and seek~ I'm the champion of that back home, you know~ I'm the best seeker~" she giggled as a red and black sludge began forming at her feet and expanding outwards. From this sludge came beasts; bipedal but running on all fours, about seven feet tall with "hands" of sharp claws and wolf-like heads. They almost appeared as large men with the head of a wolf, but they were too beastial even for that much human dignity. Their bodies were pitch black, with the exception of red eyes. One, two four, eight; their numbers swelled as the sludge expanded outwards from its creator. And the beasts began to move, hunting down their prey. Once the first had found a person, the master couldn't help her smile. "Found you~"And it began. The feast of Castle Town. Innumerable beasts spawned from the sludge and roamed through Castle Town, killing any that came into their path. There was no discrimination, there was no mercy. They were attack dogs created for the sole purpose of killing. Blood merged with sludge and what little remains were left of the corpses were dissolved in it. Their rate of growth almost seemed to mirror the rate that the citizens were slaughtered. If one were to view Castle Town from a high up birds eye view, the square perimeter around Hyrule Castle that was the town was steadily changing from stone gray to a black and red mass. It could not be said how many would survive; some may escape through the gates, some may find a hole to hide in, but the number of those slain would greatly outnumber the survivors. It could no longer even be called a slaughter; that carried the implication of a person being capable of such an act. This was a disaster. The girl walked calmly through the black and red swamp that was Castle Town, surveying the work of her new pets, and every so often letting out a moan as the red marks on her feet and hands convulsed and wriggled. "May be this'll be enough to satisfy us~"And then she stopped. From the corner of her eye, she saw a brilliant flash of light coming from the direction of the Castle. She didn't know what it was, but it got her attention focused on the Castle. There she felt it; the thing that they've been looking for. The delicious prize they were searching for. She was there. She was close. She would be found. She would be consumed. And may be then she could finally fill the hole. Without even a regard for the situation, she began making her way to the Castle, melting her way through whatever lied in her path with a touch of her hand. What she had left behind though, would act on its own. As quickly as it had overtaken Castle Town, the sludge and beasts would convene on a single point. The sludge would begin to take shape, and the beasts would walk into it and vanish, merging their mass with the sludge. It grew as everything culminated together, reaching towards the sky and spreading like an umbrella to several rooftops, before beginning to adopt a pitch black form of its own. Four limbs extended from a main, slender body, thin veils of shadow extending from the forefront limbs as a neck, head, and tail extended outwards from the central mass. A portion of its head split to reveal a gaping mouth, growing teeth of darkness as its features became more pronounced. Scales, lizard-like eyes, the veils forming into wings attached to forelegs that could very well function as arms; it was a form that brought fear of death itself. And as it widened its mouth, it let out a raspy roar, almost like a whisper that dominated a room. And in this roar, though they could not be discerned, there was the feeling of speech. Almost as if the roar itself imposed thoughts of words into the minds of those that heard it. Not that anybody would understand the words, save any Twili in the area. [/b] So, did you miss me? If you have no idea how this is going to work, read this. The admin posts especially. Admin Note: If you took part in The Growing Shadow, it has been only around twelve hours or so since that thread. Meaning if you took any injuries and didn't get them healed, they will carry over here. Good luck! Admin Note (Again): Also, if you are a Twili, be mindful that it is daytime! You may wish to consider how avoiding the burning light of the sun plays into your strategy! Letting out a raspy, almost whispery roar that could yet be heard through town, Ceregan began to flap its wings, generating a massive gust of wind as it began to lift off. For many, it would have been a moment of awe and terror; a dragon had not been sighted near the capital in millennia. With all the chaos going around the city though, it was just another problem that showed up to ruin their day, from the perspective of many. For those in the castle though, it would definitely be the thing that most stood out to them. As it lifted into the sky, it continued to gain altitude before it spread its wings out, content to simply soar on the winds of the world itself. It circled the city once, so it would know the area. To any arriving to attempt to prevent the attack, the dragon would be easily noticed in the sky, and it would become apparent that Nimue had already hit here; who knew how much damage had been caused? They would see the dragon descend some as it continued to glide, taking note of its mistress as she brute forced her way in a straight line towards the castle. It wouldn't be long before she reached it and her prize. Ceregan continued to descend, enough that it barely hovered above the buildings. Its maw opened, and black wisps could be seen coming from its mouth. And then it breathed. One could perhaps call it fire, but it bore nothing that resembled dragonfire. It was black in color and seemed to appear as somewhat inky. It still got the job done though, tearing up the streets and killing anyone unfortunate enough to be caught in the blast. It circled the city once, continuing to breathe its fire, and then it circled again with this strategy. The town never seemed to grow with the orange of fire though, it was a peculiar attack unique to Ceregan in its own way. One of its courses took it dangerously close to the castle, not too far away from another group about to be locked in a battle for their lives, undoubtedly giving the Warden a heart attack. The powerful gusts of wind as it flew by would permeate the entire throne room. It was then that, a powerful blast of light coming from inside the castle, headed right towards it, and the group within. Ceregan swerved, allowing the attack to miss it entirely as it dissipated into nothingness. It began to descend, if such dangers lurked in the sky, then perhaps it was best to wait a bit. It flew away to a more secluded area of the city, off the course of its usual runs. It was a bar in an alley, out of the way of Hyrule. Strange place to put a bar, eh? One had to descend a set of stone steps to get there, with a stack of crates outside the bar. The woman who ran the bar was well known to many, including one of the fighters against Salagoss. She did not come out however. Had she already fled? Did she perish in the initial attack? Was she still in there but saw no hope in confronting a dragon, even if it were fake? It didn't matter, Ceregan had set its sights on the bar. The black, wisp like substance began to exude from his maw once again as it prepared to destroy the bar, and anyone inside. @open @open @open @open @open [/font][/ul][/div][/blockquote][/td][td] F A L S E

That damned wizard again. He couldn't see behind that big hat, but Volga was sure there was a huge shit-eating grin on that man's face. So Volga found himself, against his will, at the gates to Castle Town.
And everything was already going to shit it seemed. Through the gates he could see the town covered in some kind of thick black and red substance, almost like that which formed into the shadow giant in Eldin. Wait, no. It was exactly the same, just a lot more of it. Was this wizard just going to keep dragging him to the trouble spots of Hyrule? Well, he was already here. Might as well get a good fight out of whatever that damned woman spawned this time.
And his request for a fight would be met with a visage he did not expect to see. A dragon. Not quite the same as he knew, but a dragon. For the first time in a while, Volga smiled a crazed, bloodlust-filled smile. He would enjoy this. He would enjoy taking down this imposter. The draconic soul within him stirred, calling him to do battle with its pseudo-kin.
Immediately taking to the roofs with the hookshot, Volga followed the dragon as best his feet could manage as it made a few rounds around Castle Town, managing to avoid any direct hits from the breath attack thanks to being on the rooftops. He saw the dragon swerve to avoid a blast of light, making it obvious that it had the same weakness to light element as the one before. Though, the source of the blast was a bit concerning. Nonetheless, he would think about that later.
The dragon eventually found a spot to come down, and Volga took immediate advantage of the opportunity. Using his hookshot to navigate to the nearest rooftop, he then leapt down onto the dragon's back, switching the hookshot for the newly gained Deku Spear. The big hat bastard brought the deku messenger with him to deliver the spear, which he was thankful for. He already knew it'd be useful in this fight. He used the wooden spear to attempt to leave a large tear in the joint of one of its forelimbs, to hinder its ability to fly, and follow up with another swipe across the base of its neck to begin the process of decapitating it. He had little concern for any collateral damage that may ensue, but he did intend to slay the faker.

[googlefont=Roboto] What I fear and what I've tried
Words I say and what I hide
All the pain, I want it to end
But I want it again
Why couldn't horses move faster?! The moment that the monstrosity at Kakariko Village was slain, Ashei had bolted back for the Capital to try and beat whatever was coming next. Her friends, her father, the people she cared for--all of them were subject to this terror - whatever it may be.
Of course, she was late again. She could see the smoke billowing from the city before she had even made it over the path - those that she fought beside either scattered or ran ahead as well. How did they get there so quickly?! There was no time to worry about these trivial matters though - crossing the drawbridge, she immediately dismounted her stallion and sprinted in the direction of the commotion.
She wouldn't be able to live with herself if anyone died because she couldn't save them. Wherever they were - Shad, Cas, even Link. She knew they were in the city, and she hoped to god they weren't going to try anything stupid.
And of course, her father. A sworn knight of Hyrule, devoted to giving his life for the Queen. Of course he'd be obligated to try and face this calamity. Hopefully she would arrive before he went in blindly.
Bolting from an alleyway, she was faced with a large beast center-head with a familiar ally by her side - he was already ready for this. Uneasiness crept from her stomach up to her mouth, tasting like bile and stinging the back of her throat. Her concerned expression never faded, her frame hovering just a few steps from the creature's gaze.
This was going to be different. There was no deity to save them this time.
Her hand pressed firmly against the hilt of her sword as she looked to the desperate eyes of civilians, running in every direction as they cradled their children and cried out in terror. There were already so many dead.
"I'll make you proud, father," she murmured, unsheathing her sword with might at her reach, approaching the battlegrounds and observing its behavior.
At least this time, its skin was not made of stone.

"Wow. I arrive just in time for everything to go to hell." Despite the audible gripes made, the twili had a wide, teeth flashing grin on his face. "Sucks for all these light-dwellers. Ah but we can't let this keep... dragon on now, can we?" There it was. Morpheus couldn't keep his hilarious puns to himself for long. The twili had a wide, teeth flashing grin on his face as he watched the pandemonium ensue. He wanted to see what it was like in a city where light-dwellers made their lives out of. How was it so different than for those in the Twilight Realm? Looks like that wasn’t going to be happening today.
Morpheus drew out a couple of throwing knives. Through the shadows he traveled from building to building. Jumping from one shadow to another trying to get as close as he could. Damn. This bloody sunlight was going to make this harder. He quickly moved towards a nicely shaded Alleyway so he could get out of the shadows. He should invest in a very heavy cloak or something to that sorts.
It appears that a challenger had already engaged the dragon. Okay, that was good at least! That meant he didn't have to directly get into the fray and burn to a crisp from sunlight. Yeah the dragon is still a big deal but one problem at a time. As if permanently plastered on his pale blue, ghostly face, he kept on grinning, observing and pinpointing vital points at the dragon waiting for the right moment to aim his projectiles at it.

[nospaces] [attr="class","mortBG"] [attr="class","mortBor"] [attr="class","mortHead"] [attr="class","mortNote"] this should be fun! [attr="class","mortPost"] The day had started out easy; he had spent the day entirely at the forge, crafting weapons for the coming ceremonies. Fragments of metal scattered across a long table, Cassius took hold of them and swept them into the crucible, along with several chunks of their finest iron. This may have been his best piece yet--refining his skills to become more resonate and allowing for better quality and patience. [break][break] That was, until he was interrupted by a large shake in the earth. For a moment, Cassius didn't know if it was real. He thought perhaps his exhaustion was getting the better of him, the loud sounds of the kiln creating the illusion of rumbles beneath his feet. But nothing could recreate the screaming and panic that followed. Wiping his forehead with a wet rag, he threw off his apron and peaked out the small sliding window of the shop's door, seeing absolute chaos within the streets. Everyone was running in all directions possible. [break][break] He froze for a moment, taking a few steps back as his heart sunk deep into his chest, pounding heavier and heavier until he thought it might burst. What was out there? Where was everyone going to go? Was he safe where he was? What about his parents? What about Ashei? [break][break] She might have been out there in that mess. At the very least, he would have to find her. He needed to stop running away. [break][break] Throwing his wool shirt on, he immediately grabbed his steel sword and exited the building, looking around for anyone whom associated with Ashei. Perhaps the first stop would be her home--if he went there he could check on his own family too, since they had lived next door. [break][break] But the smoke is coming from that direction... he clenched his blade tightly, backing into the wall of the shop. He had to focus. He had to stay collected. He swallowed hard and nodded. This wasn't for him. This was for his family. Stepping off into the cobblestone streets, he ran as fast as he could through the panicked crowds, before turning down an alleyway that would lead him toward the town square--and then toward their homes. [break][break] That's when the beast emerged. A massive blast of dust had sent Cas back a few feet with a groan in panic. It had gone straight for Telma's bar. "No, no, no--" he stuttered out--what if they were all retreating in there? He was suddenly met with several others who were ready to fight this beast--doing what they could to gain its attention. [break][break] ...This meant he was part of the battle now, didn't it? He couldn't just leave them. Shaky hands holding the hilt of the sword, he was suddenly met with another unexpected ally. Eyes met with hers for a moment and his face went pale. "No, get out of here!" he pleaded with the raven haired girl. "Ashei, this is way too dangerous, you need to go!!" Xiotis overheard the commotion from the Castle Town Mask Shop she was perusing through and popped her head out to see what was going on. After seeing everything that had transpired thus far, she found it necessary to help. Fortunately, she always kept her Specter Armor handy in case of trouble. Rushing to the shop's bathroom, she quickly changed into the armor and emerged ready for battle. Xiotis' guardian fairy, Dewey, emerged with her, having quite the fit at his guardian-ee's complete lack of forethought in how she's gonna be able to take on a dragon. Approaching the market place gone battlefield, Xiotis ran straight for the dragon and threw her scythe like a boomerang at the dragon's backside, hoping to catch the beast off guard.

[/b] The Round has been reset. It will reset again in the next 60 hours (work, or just all hit the thread before I have to go >.>). THERE IS NO POSTING ORDER, BUT YOU CAN ONLY POST ONCE BEFORE THE BOSS.If it hadn't been for Volga, being one of the only ones to actually do anything, Ceregan would've incinerated Telma's bar and anyone in it right there. His spear dug into the flesh of Ceregan, causing it to let out a roar. That would be a hole that it wouldn't be recovering from any time soon. It seemed that the Dragon Knight was well on his way to grounding the beast, making this a much easier mark, perhaps. After all, a dragon that couldn't fly was a behemoth, and behemoths were that much easier to deal with, specifically because they couldn't actually fly. Ceregan got ready to roll and throw him off or something, but at least that wasn't necessary. Before Volga could tear up the joint, a scythe came whirling from behind. Its blade traveled up its backside, carving a line through its flesh. It was a valiant strike, one that struck true and the beast let out another cry as some of its flesh seemed to slough off and onto the ground. The only catch was the back was where Volga was. The scythe collided with the dragon knight, the point burying itself in his back. While he was fine thanks to his exceptional armor, the force of the blow proper, along with the fact he didn't see it coming (really, no one could have in his position), threw him off balance, knocking him off Ceregan before he could fully finish his first blow, much less begin his second one. The Dragon Knight fell off, and landed on his stomach. Would've been too easy, right? Now free of the Dragon Knight, Ceregan craned its head to see where that scythe had struck it, seeing the small Kokiri in her armor. It turned, clearly preoccupied, its mouth still letting out black wisps. Its maw opened wide at Xiotis, and at once a black jet rushed forth, intent on killing the Kokiri where she stood. Its body turned as it turned and climbed away from the bar and towards the Kokiri, letting out a deafening howl of a roar. It seemed to not even notice the other three, and didn't seemed too concerned about Volga. Of course, there might have been a reason for that last one. GEMM OUI LNICR YHT PINH The flesh that had fallen to the ground from Xiotis's took a form, a TALL CREATURE, seven feet in height with a wolf-like head and exceptionally sharp claws. Ignoring the others, it rushed the downed Volga, throwing its weight on him and bringing down its claws against the Dragon Knight in an attempt to finish him off, and these claws would be able to pierce the dragon's armor. While frightened by the dragon now focusing on killing her, Xiotis knew it would be pointless to run now. It was on whether she wanted it to be or not. Thankfully, being Kokiri sized made dodging a lot easier. Swiftly dodging the flames, Xiotis made a break for her scythe. As she towards it, the Specter Knight in Training summoned thorny vines with her Floramancy to keep the wolf man thing from killing him. Quickly pulling the scythe out of Volga's back, Xiotis continued her assault on Ceregan by using her scythe as a pick axe to climb up its right front leg and hopefully continue the game plan of damaging the wings.

All the pain, I want it to end
But I want it again
She had been readying herself to head into the battle, before Volga had made immediate attack on the dragon, flying around with hooks and chains before causing the beast to stumble out of the air - a figure falling onto the ground and slowly picking itself up before them. She was frozen again, but this time in focus on where to attack.
Again, she was to make herself head straight for the figure, hopefully striking while it was still down - but the view of a little girl caught her attention and she immediately felt worry wash up in a need to protect her - why was she wearing armor? Was she intending to fight this thing?
It had immediately made way for Volga - the dragon itself trying to erupt upon the small girl who had quickly dodged the attack. It became clear that this girl was quite adept at the use of magic, immediately subjecting aggro to the creature that tackled Volga.
This was her chance to be useful. In a rush of adrenaline, she rose her sword, while the dragon had been distracted and not known of her presence, until--
"...Cas...?" she murmured, her eyes immediately turning to face her old friend. "What are you--why are you--"
Her head turned back to the dragon - she didn't have very much time to make her move. This wasn't what she wanted though! The last thing she needed was to worry about that boy - he wasn't exactly a heroic type, and he'd probably try to go for something stupid.
"Just stay away from this thing! Let us handle it!" she exclaimed before quickly circling around the beast.
She had to go for its wings. But goddess, was this thing huge. It seemed to invigorate itself after its attempt to blast down the child, and while still grounded, she immediately leaped onto its backside, allowing her body to slide down its scaled frame before attempting to dig her blade into the webby flesh of its right wing; her goal was clear - shredding and maiming it in any way possible. Taking hold of one of the spikes along it's back to brace for any jerks and erratic movement that followed, she huffed in a panic as she scanned the area for Cassius. There wasn't much time to act.

[nospaces] [attr="class","mortBG"] [attr="class","mortBor"] [attr="class","mortHead"] [attr="class","mortNote"] this should be fun! [attr="class","mortPost"] What was she doing!? Before he could even give a response to her demands of staying put, he was immediately taken back by the amount of craziness going around them. He bit his bottom lip as his hands trembled for a moment, eyes moving from Ashei, to the strange creature attacking the dragon knight, to the dragon itself. How did they intend on fending this thing off..? [break][break] "This is... this is too much for us," he whispered, but his eyes shot back to Ashei as she had suddenly jolted onto the beast. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" he screamed out, immediately jolting forward, but coming to a stop as he made note of her objective. She was taking out its wings. Was this so it couldn't fly away? This wouldn't do much if it was still using everything else... unless... [break][break] As she commanded him to move to its left side, he nodded carefully, throwing away his previous fears as he scattered around its body. Rather than taking hold of the thing as Ashei did, he had immediately dug his blade into the left aileron as he ran around it, his sword dragging toward the flesh carefully. As he tried to make damage, he would then remove the blade and quickly jolt out of the way, jumping back several meters to make note of its next move and whether he succeeded. [break][break] "If we want to really hurt this thing, we need to take out its ability to move completely..." he murmured, turning to the other hero whom was among them. "You! While it's still down! Try to cut its heels so that it can't freely run or chase anyone!" he commanded toward Morpheus. You know Morpheus had his hopes up on finding interesting and fun things to do in the light realm. While he wouldn't say slaying a murderous giant-ass shadow dragon isn't exciting in the least, it wasn't his first idea. He held a blade in each of his hands twirling them simultaneously between his fingers. The first initiate had made his strike and stopped the dragon in it’s tracks. "Hey! Would you look at that? Dragon Knight took down shadow Dragon from the sky by the scale!"
He was about to make a move now but some kid in armor came in and started attacking the dragon with scythes. The Light Realm was a bigger joke than the Twilight Realm. They send children into battle. Though the attack didn’t come with some setbacks. One being that said scythe stabbed into the Dragon Knight and knocked the dude off the Shadow Dragon before he could lay some good damage into it. "I would say doing that looked like a piece of cake, but I don't think he'll take kindly to that slice."
He was on a roll.
Jokes came to screeching halt the moment he heard something he actually understood. It was in his native tongue. Well now. Big and bad breath over here could speak. Then he saw something come off of the Shadow Dragon of doom and death. The blob of darkness turned into a giant creature with a wolf head ready to strike Volga. That’s a little underhanded, don’t you think? So Morpheus quickly threw his throwing knives at the Dark Werewolf wannabe that spawned off of the dragon. The monster was occupied on trying to lay into Volga that the chances of it spotting his attempted attack had to be low. At least to give Volga some time to recover and get back into attacking and wrecking these things day.
He tried. Nobody could say he didn't now.
"Hm?" He looked back over to the humans working on the big bad. Right. About that. There was still the problem with sunlight. "A please and thank you would be appreciated, kid. I'll collect it later." His grin widened as he melded within the shadows once more. He jumped through one after another from building to one of the stray people across to another building until he was close enough. He drew out his sword this time before swallowing.
He jumped out of the shadow right at one of the heels of the dragon. He gritted his teeth with his grin this time feeling the heat of the sunlight. He was trying to get as much cover as he could from the sunlight and the dragon's body was pretty damn big to shade him. Morpheus steeled his grip and proceeded to make an attempt to slice at the heel of the dragon. Whether it made a direct connect or not, he wasn't staying to find out. He jumped back into the shadows once again. Only this time, he could only go into the Shadow Dragon’s own shadow cast from the sunlight.

The first attack connected, for the most part. As Volga was about to finish dragging the point of the spear through the initial area of attack, he felt something heavy slam into his back, one point on his back in particular getting hit harder. God damn it, not again. As he turned at the last moment before falling from the dragon's back, he saw the small girl in the motion of having thrown something (though he couldn't see what), and the line torn through the flesh of the dragon up to where he was located. It seemed rather than an intentional attempt on him, it was collateral.
He could live with that. It was annoying, but he could live with it. As he landed on the cobblestone, he immediately moved to pick himself up, before the weight on his back was quite literally lifted. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the small girl again, holding some sort of scythe. And a small(er) beast of shadow, with vines sprouting from the ground to wrap around it. Throwing knives flew towards the beast, and from the corner of his eye he saw the woman from Kakariko and another human scaling the dragon to tear at its wings.
He wouldn't jinx it this time.
"Very well, FAKER! I'LL KILL YOUR PET FIRST, AND THEN RESUME CLAIMING YOUR HEAD!" Volga roared as he drew the second, larger spear from his back, using his dragon spear to try and impale the shadow beast before him and hinder its approach further. Plus, attempt a good amount of damage. However, his real attack was an attempt to swipe the Deku Spear through its neck, ideally cleaving through its human-sized neck and removing its head. He didn't feel as much resistance as expected when piercing the dragon, not nearly the same amount of resistance one would feel cutting an actual person. With the strength he put into that swipe, he was hoping it'd be a one-hit kill.

[/b] The Round has been reset. It will reset again in the next 60 hours (work, or just all hit the thread before I have to go >.>). THERE IS NO POSTING ORDER, BUT YOU CAN ONLY POST ONCE BEFORE THE BOSS.With the aid given by Xiotis, the beast slowed down long enough for Morpheus's blow to prevent it from striking Volga entirely. With the extra time granted, Volga was able to get out without issue, piercing the beast before taking its head off with his newfound toy. The beast collapsed and disintegrated into a cloud of black smoke, its sludge like substance gone. It seemed there was one way to take the beast down; simply whittle it down and destroy that army that such an act would spawn. But how long would that take? Could the heroes hold on forever to accomplish such a task? As for Xiotis and Ceregan, well, charging a dragon in a frontal assault was a foolish idea. Raising its front leg, it simply swatted Xiotis away to the right, sending her off the roof and into the alleyway. The worst of the blow had already gone through her, so she wound up tumbling down, taking only some bruising, but nothing that was serious. She'd probably feel it later there. [@xiotis, BRUISES, MINOR] Ashei would find more success however as she climbed up the backside, her steel weapon piercing through the membrane of the wing and beginning to tear through it. Ceregan roared in pain from the attack and reared back, but it had no real way to reach the girl from its current position. However, that wouldn't be an issue. The discarded flesh simply slipped into the ground. That might be a problem. It might have trouble flying now, but Ashei would soon have trouble of her own. As stated, attacking a dragon in a full frontal assault was always foolish, so when Cassius attempted it, he met with similar results as Xiotis; perhaps worse even. Ceregan finally came down, its clawed hand slamming into Ashei's friend and pinning him to the ground. The talons tore through his clothing, cutting him, but the real damage was in the impact itself. As the crushing blow hammered Cassius into the ground, he would feel a sharp pain in his torso as two of his ribs cracked from the impact. With Ceregan still pinning Cassius down, he couldn't move either. [ Cassius Martel, TWO CRACKED RIBS, MODERATE] As for Morpheus, he would find some better results. His blows connected with the heel, causing the dragon to flinch. The flesh came off, and the sludge formed into another beast. This one showed an ability that none of the monsters had shown yet; it dove into its masters shadow. Once in there, it charged straight for Morpheus, intent on putting this Twili out of its misery. It rushed forward in the darkness, aiming a swipe down Morpheus's front, hoping to gash him from shoulder to waist. With its attention back on Cassius, its mouth began to emit the wispy smoke again. It was clear that unless stopped, Ceregan would unleash a hot load of dragon breath right on Ashei's friend. All Cassius would see was the inky black maw of the dragon, staring him in the face. And this was where things got worse for Ashei. The sludge that she had taken off the wing formed into another beast, same as the other two. It hopped up on the dragon, barring her path as it also charged. Its left arm aimed for her right, attempting to lock her sword between its claws. Its right aimed itself in an under thrust at Ashei's abdomen, hoping to disembowel her with one messy blow. [nospaces] [attr="class","mortBG"] [attr="class","mortBor"] [attr="class","mortHead"] [attr="class","mortNote"] ANIME AF [attr="class","mortPost"] Perhaps it was because of the adrenaline burning through Cas's body, but everything had suddenly become slow as he had escaped the range of the dragon - or so he thought. Slowly turning his head to look back, he took note of the wings that had suddenly become... more corrupted. They were grabbing at Ashei and attempting to harm her, and he immediately stopped in his tracks. "NO, ASHEI! LOOK OUT!" [break][break] SLAM! [break][break] Before he was even able to react, the claws of the beast suddenly came forth and threw him into the ground with a snapping gasp. He thought he was dead - the pain was so intense he couldn't even speak. Eyes wide enough to pop out of his head, he was frozen, staring up to the sky as he moved his fingers and toes, confirming that they were not broken. But something was - and that something was hindering him indefinitely. [break][break] He could hear the screaming around him, and slowly he brought himself up, pushing all of his weight into his arms - his chest and stomach in so much pain he thought he might vomit. There was no way he was going to be able to stand - at least not while he was down in this position. He made eye contact with the dragon, and the two exchanged a moment of pause before it had braced its jaw back, appearing to charge the flames in the back of its throat. [break][break] If he didn't move now, this was it. But there wasn't a way for him to escape. He watched his friend struggle with the figures surrounding her, holding back her blade and he braced for impact. "If you're gonna kill me, fine. But you're not going to take her too!" he growled, flinging his blade in the air toward the dragon's exposed neck. It wasn't much, and there wasn't time to plan a better idea, but at least it was something before he became a pile of ash.
