Imagine coming from a long line of respective knights, and then the great Goddesses bless you with a healthy baby boy to continue carrying the weight and honor of the family name, only to find out that your beloved son wants nothing to do with fighting and is a sniveling coward who wants to pursue a dirty career of making the weapons you fight with.
That's how the Martel family feels behind closed doors for their only son - the one to carry their name. He grew up being praised as their successor, often accompanied by his young friend Ashei, whom held more dedication to the art than he did, and while his father had hoped she would influence his decisions for his career later in life, it was to no real success.
He held more admiration for the creation of the weapon, rather than using it, and upon a young age he began shadowing the knight's blacksmith and learning the ways of casting iron and working the forge. His father was less than pleased with his choice in career, often mentioning his disappointment and giving backhanded remarks to his achievements.
This was how he was treated for most of his life growing up, but at least he had Ashei. The two of them were like siblings, inseparable - that is, until she became more involved with the Resistance. With traveling and researching and becoming more devoted to the art of swordplay, the two grew apart as they came into their adult years, however they still catch up every now and again when they catch each other's path. Now, he works hard at the forge, making valuable weapons for valuable people.
After the events of UNDER DARKNESS, Cassius's personality changes drastically after scathing by death and watching his comrades die or narrowly escape dying. He withdraws himself from the others and goes over his sloppy work, realizing just how useless he was, becoming a liability to the group. He decides the best method to remedy this is to train intensely, and to finally push himself to become a knight like his family had opened he would.

This will render the weapon useless in the hands of those whom they were not created for, other than himself and who he enchants it to.

This upgrade allows for any weapon forged by Cassius to be made from an incredibly rare and durable metal. Normal weapons can and will break under the right amount of force, and so any weapon created by Cassius is made of the finest quality ensured to last for a very long time.
Magic Upgrade #2: Threat Espial
This upgrade allows for any weapon forged by Cassius to glow when danger is nearby. Should monsters, bosses, or those with intent of harm upon the user draw near, the blade will glow with a brilliant shine to alert the wielder.
