If my velocity starts to make you sweat then just don't let go Another day, another shield. It took time to enchant a shield for the Hylian Knights. Took him about a day to be exact. A day of constant concentration, a day of constant chanting. He preferred to do it alone, he made no mistakes when he was alone. Everyone thought what he did was easy. Oh that it was something they could learn in a week and take his job. But it was the opposite. He may not have been a warrior, but there were many days where he didn't eat, drink, or sleep. He couldn't afford such things when enchanting the armaments of the Hylian Knights. His current shield he was about twenty one hours in. The end was in sight. A mystical glow had long since set over the shield, and now all he was doing was finalizing the enchantment and setting it into the metal itself. The first thing he was going to do when this was over was walk over to his bed and collapse face first onto his mattress. He wasn't going to bother getting undressed or anything. He smiled at it, refusing to allow anything else to distract him. He could deal with the rest of Hyrule's problems later. Then he heard a knock at his door. Jace squeaked at it, and the concentration was broken. He panicked as he watched the enchantment fade into nothing. Twenty one hours. Twenty one hours he'd been working on it, and then somebody had the nerve to ruin everything. Well after this visit, he was going straight to bed. No use trying again when fatigue would be wiping him out in short order. "Coming~!" He called in a sweet tone as he stepped over to the door, opening to see who this guest was. He would be as polite as always. But internally he was screaming. [googlefont=Oswald]

Had she known Jace was currently using up all of his energy to enchant something, she might not have disturbed him. Had she realized he was extremely hungry and very irritable, she might not have appeared at his door casually munching away on a freshly baked loaf of bread that she pilfered from the kitchen on the way up. But she didn't realize any of this, and here she was, knocking on his door with her mouth stuffed full of food, ruining his day completely.
When the door opened, she grinned as much as she could with the bread in her mouth. It was a surprise she finished chewing and swallowing before she greeted him. "Aye, Jace!" she lifted her free hand to give a wave as she stepped inside, assuming she was invited in. "You got a minute?"
I mean, obviously he did because he answered the door, right?

If my velocity starts to make you sweat then just don't let go Bloodshot eyes examined the new arrival, also taking note of the scent of the warm bread in her hands. Well now that just wasn't fair. He could physically feel his heart ripping in two at the prospect of a warm meal, and being able to sleep, and being able to be so damn chipper without worry. Would he sleep first or would he eat first? He tried not to think of the latter, thinking of the latter had a nasty tendency to make one's stomach growl, and that would be nothing short of rude to his guest. And then she just stepped right into his room without even being invited! What if he had other company? What if he had adult things in his room that he didn't want other people to see? How rude of her! But as a host it would also be rude of him to point that out, so he just bit his tongue and kept that pleasant smile on his face. Nor did he ask for a bite of that really delicious looking bread right about now. And theeeeen she asked if he had a minute. Ah, so she needed something from him then? Of course she did. All the knights only bothered him if they wanted something from him. What would it be, another enchantment or something? Always just so ungrateful for any work he put in. Sometimes he wondered if even Zelda appreciated him. "I wasn't doing anything important, so I suppose I do have a minute, yes." He told a little white lie. Just a small little lie, she wouldn't mind that, surely. [googlefont=Oswald]

"Oh, you know..." Ashenne started to feel a little bit guilty about trudging into his space like this. A closer look at him and she could tell he looked pretty tired. Bloodshot eyes... and he was eyeing her bread. Maybe she did interrupt him. Jace would never admit to it, though. She knew that much. As she fought to figure out a good enough excuse as to why she was here, she scanned his room and took in the scenery. She took a step closer to his desk and ran a finger along the tops of some of his glass vials. He had some interesting things to look at, and the distractions provided a bit more time to think...
"I just wanted to see how you were doing," she finally spoke, still gazing around at everything else but him. Another bite of bread went into her mouth. It wasn't the honest reason why she was here, but she also didn't want to seem like she was taking advantage. Again. Like all the other knights.

If my velocity starts to make you sweat then just don't let go You see, it was safe to say that perhaps in some way, there was a dragon inside Jace L'Arachel. A black, nine headed monstrosity that perhaps reflected his inward emotions. For the most part, it was docile, calm, perhaps coiled up on some mountain of gold that he imagined himself making at times. And at times perhaps it was even a bit weak. Jace made it an art to never let that ugly dragon rear its nine heads when something was bothering him. The amount of times he'd lost his cool when coming to the knights was... actually he wasn't really sure the last time he could remember blowing his top like that. Regardless, said dragon was throwing a tantrum right now. Twenty one hours of work all down the drain. With no rest or food. And it was all so Ashe could just check up and see how he was doing? In a masterful act of diplomacy, Jace smiled at her words. "Well, thank you. It's nice to have someone here who comes in just to say hi. Wish I had more of that." At those words, he mentally kicked himself behind the smile, and the dragon inside rolled on its back, writhing and screeching, acting like a petulant child. And with that, a silence ensued. He really had no idea what to say now. [googlefont=Oswald]

Perhaps now she was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Now she had essentially interrupted him for no reason. Might as well think of an excuse right? Ashe took one more bite of her bread before setting it down on his table. "Have some," she offered, "I had a big meal earlier anyway. It's nice and fresh. I wouldn't want it to go to waste... for the chef's sake." Yeah. The chef's sake.
As the silence fell, Ashe meandered about with her lips pursed and puckered as she mentally scrounged for a reason to be here. At least a reason that would maybe soothe the wounds. Maybe he'd forgive her eventually.
With a click of her tongue, she finally spoke up again. "Well, there is something I've been wondering." Her hand reached up to scratch the back of her head in a nervous manner. "Can you... enchant or whatever... a broom to sweep on its own? Or dishes that never get dirty?"
She still had no clue what he really did. Enchant things, that's all. But how... or what exactly it took... She had naught a clue. MADE BY ★MEULK

If my velocity starts to make you sweat then just don't let go When Ashe set down the bread, Jace eyed it wearily and with no small amount of hunger. It would be rude to just tear into it though when he had a guest. If he ate it then he would have to do so politely and right now he wasn't sure whether or not he could bring himself to do it. Regardless, he placed a hand over it before nodding slowly. "Thank you, I don't have to go and get something for... what time is it? Morning? Yes I think it's morning, so breakfast then?" His thoughts trailed off in a foggy direction, he really wasn't all that there. But at least she finally revealed why she was really there. That made far more sense, she just wanted him to enchant something for her. Blinking a couple times to get rid of a growing owlish gaze, he nodded again. "Cantrips like that are easy for me. It's the enchantments made to be used in battle that are the hard things." The battle ready ones were made to be able to last. Something as simple as what she was requesting weren't as brutal at least, but he still wasn't going to do them right now. "I'm guessing you needed some enchanted?" At least he figured that was why she had dropped by. Jace hid it like a champ, but the truth was he wasn't all that surprised that she showed up to ask him to make something magical for her.
