I'm moving this forward, waited too long. With Autumn came the rains as the world cooled down. Right now it was only a light drizzle, but with the dark clouds looming overhead, it was clear that the light drizzle would likely be something far stronger by the time the two emerged from the tomb. Really, the Hero of Time had only intended for one to be here, but thanks to another's eager insistence that he have a companion, there were two. If only the golden wolf could have seen that, who knows how he would have reacted. As they entered the old graveyard, it was clear that time had not been kind to it. The old shack where the grave keeper had once lived had long collapsed and was clearly rotting away. The grass had grown tall, even rooting through the cobblestone paths that once lined the area, tearing the little roads apart. Gravestones, without proper care, were beginning to deteriorate. Some had cracked and already fallen into disrepair, the names of those who slumbered within forgotten by time. If one was never truly dead so long as people spoke their names and held them within their hearts, then one could say that most of the people within this graveyard were indeed truly dead. Far in the back was a magnificent grave, or had once been magnificent, but time had worn its glory down, but investigating it would show that it was merely the grave of the royal family, long since abandoned as its members were moved elsewhere. The last name on the grave was a Zelda. It didn't take very long to figure out which Zelda it was referring to. What they were looking for was a large grave, long overgrown, but unmistakable in who it had belonged to. But how in the world were they going to force this thing open? The Hero of Time had said to go to his grave and pick something up, but now that they were there, now what? Link Seyka Rozengale [/ul][/div][/blockquote] G I F T

Summer passed by and the world lost some greenery, replaced by beautiful reds and oranges and browns that made the countryside all the more beautiful. The Hylian youth, his mind full of thousands of things at the moment, still appreciated the scenery nevertheless and found himself comforted by the light drizzle falling down from the dark sky above.
Ashei and Volga would continue on without them, and Alex might very well have decided to join them for the trip to the Gorons. In the morning, Seyka and he himself would follow suit. For tonight, though, there were things that needed to be done, and he felt a thrum of energy rush through him. Was it from wariness or excitement, or both? Not even he fully knew the answer to that.
The name carved in stone earned a pang from his chest. What had the former barer of that name felt in her final moments? Regret, rage, relief, or something he couldn't quite place? Fear, most certainly, as few faced death without that in their hearts. She had been struck down too soon, by a blade wielder disenchanted by what happened.
His intention shifted, his eyes falling on another grave not too far from that of the royal family. The marker on it made it recognizable. Steeling himself, the blond put his hand on the stone and brushed away from of the growing debris to try to read what was written on there.
"Got a shovel?" Link inquired dryly, only half serious. "Maybe there is a mechanism somewhere around here. Look for a button, or a switch, or something that stands out." MADE BY ★MEULK

Warm winds were replaced by cool, gentle breezes welcoming the cooler weather to make it’s home across the lands. It was a time of remembrance of all the things to be grateful for. To recollect of the feats and accomplishments made across one’s mortal’s life. Or so that is what Seyka was brought up to uphold. Mother nature had painted her lush grounds which were once green with various shades of the fall. Burnt orange, warm red and harvest yellow hues colored the trees.
She began to count the many things she was thankful for. The first being that her family was still alive after the attack on the Capital. The second was to be grateful she was still alive alongside them. She was eternally grateful to be brought up learning many things – to be strong enough to survive harsh conditions and that included what it was like to live on the road. She’d never once left the gates that encompassed her home of Castle Town. So when she traveled out alongside the group to Kakariko it was a plethora of feelings and experiences. Being on the road was harsh for the noble woman.
She came to appreciating having a roof over her head. While sleeping outside had the perks of having stars above them, a bed was more appealing than the hard ground. As they arrived in Kakariko Village, in the process of still being repaired, it was drizzling rain. Something she quite find uncomfortable, but bit her spoiled noblewoman mannerisms from complaining too much.
But when they arrived at the dilapidated graveyard, this is where she had to say something. Granted, she understood that this place has been forgotten. The poor little plots of land meant to be the resting place for the departed… something was bothering her. She could blame it on her upbringing and training as a Hylian Knight but she had to say something. “I don’t want to be technical… but would this be considered grave robbing?” she finally asked.
Despite the concern and questionable activities they were going about with the grave, she still proceeded to look for a means to accessing it. She looked around every corner. “I’ve heard of an old maid’s tale say playing the song of the royal family opens secret passages. Strange how even music has mysterious powers when played at the right place, at the right time.”

[/div] The inscription breaks there. Goddammit. One of the greater mysteries for those fascinated with the Hero of Time was who the hell won his heart, there went a clear answer for that then. But, on the bright side, as Link's hand brushed against the stone, he could feel something triggering in the stone itself. As if responding to his touch, which it in fact was, the stone began to move back, letting out a long groan as its stone grinded against stone. It took a minute or two in the drizzle, it was a slow moving machine, likely from a century of never seeing any use, but it was moving. Really, if the name wasn't a clue for who the Young Wolf truly was, the response probably would be. It seemed that the song would be unnecessary, but, if there was a certain other grave nearby that the Hylian noblewoman wished to rob, then perhaps it would come in handy, if she knew the song anyway. Just something to consider~ When the grave stopped moving, there was a staircase descending into the darkness, wide enough to fit one person at a time. "If you know the song, I've got an ocarina." He didn't look like the sort who would be musically inclined, but he fully believed in the power of music thanks to a book passed down from his grandfather. In it were melodies from long ago, pieces passed down for posterity sake. His horse came quickly when called by one of those songs and even the sky itself opened up to the mysterious magic held within the notes to offer rain whenever it was needed.
The song of the royal family, though, had not been jotted down, and really, that wasn't a ground surprise. As if his family had any connection with the royals. Outside of the one he made, that is, and that would have had his parents protesting immensely because of 'rich hypocrites' and whatever else they liked to spew. He'd find himself with a bitter taste in his mouth more from the people who birthed him than those they detested.
But his mind was elsewhere. The name on the grave - his name - and the way the stone began to move under his touch... how could he not be amazed by that? His throat all at once felt much too full and he struggled to swallow. Before them lied a passage to the unknown, old stairs descending into pitch black darkness.
The youth had the foresight to pack his traveling gear well before leaving the capitol earlier that day. After a few steps down, he paused and opened up his satchel while still having enough moonlight to see. There in it was a lantern with enough oil to last for a few hours. Only once he started it up did he begin walking again, making sure that he and the knight would have a way to see.
Because walking down into a grave was already foolish enough; having no light would be downright stupid.
"Can it be considered grave robbing if the person who the grave is for told you to do it?" Link asked in return, keeping his eyes peeled for anything. Traps, predominantly of the pitfall, tripwire, or pressure plate variety, were often used to keep people out of important memorials, and while he didn't expect to find them here because of the nature of things, he'd still prefer to spot something ahead of time. An ocarina? She was familiar with the object but Seyka hasn’t quite heard anybody play the sweet little wind instrument before. She couldn’t help but muse for a split second of a conversation she had with Alexander. The ancient Kokiri race were known for reed flutes and ocarinas, weren’t they? “Perhaps when we have time to spare,” she offered, “For now, let’s see what the Hero of Time wished for us to discover here, shall we?”She didn’t have to worry about looking for a way of getting into the grave for much longer. In fact, she took a step back as she heard stone move–– almost groan––from the sudden motion, as they found their way down underground. Link’s question proved a valid point. Moot point to think this could be grace robbing, but hey! You couldn’t blame a girl for wanting clarification. Thank the Goddesses, Link came better prepared than she did. She had hand held torches at the ready! But the lantern could be strapped to a belt whereas a torch couldn’t. Wherever Link couldn’t cover, then Seyka ensured anywhere else was checked in double. This place was absurdly well-built for the Hero’s grave. So much so that it was hard not to check for traps anywhere. “Be careful where you step. Just in case there might be soft-stone paneled traps. Or trip wires...” She said softly. Her face quickly paled at another realization. “Or giant rats…” tag: Linknotes: Lazy posting.

Case in point, there was a pause as they reached the bottom, "... I don't think we do the traps either? Well, not in the usual way."When they hit the bottom, the torch did everything it could, but it couldn't fully illuminate everything. The ceiling and the darkest corners of the room were still in total darkness, but there was enough room that they could easily navigate. What they could make out were figures on the walls, as well as a massive gate ahead of them, covered and locked together in vines. So the way was shut, and they had to find some way to get past the vines then. Easy enough. It was at that, that the small voice spoke out again. "So it is someone new!" It was filled with excitement more than anything. At that moment, a pair of yellow eyes appeared to be staring at the two. It was easy to note the giddy light in the eyes... at least right up until the rest of its body appeared. Well, it, being a small Deku child, still looked giddy. It was also floating in the air, uh. Okay, so the Hero's Grave was haunted, maybe that wasn't much of a surprise, considering that by nature of who resided in it, it was probably haunted to begin with. Swaying back and forth, the small Deku child eyed the two grave robbers, except... "Normally grave robbers don't get in like that so I don't think you're one of them." Well, clearly it didn't think they were actually here to rob the place. "... Maybe." It politely added on before looking around the room. What to do what to do... they certainly looked friendly enough, one of them looked just like Link even! The small Deku ghost tilted its head in curiosity, it was clear that this small child was definitely not a threat, so why worry about it? The child seemed delighted, "Well, rules are rules and all, you have to get through the trials, tests?" Taking only a moment to muse over its own wording before it let out a screech. One by one, moving out of their positions in the walls, the figures, statues more clearly began to approach the two, twenty in all. Each armored by stone and armed with a sword and shield, the small Deku floated in close towards the two, chipper as ever, "Good lu--"It froze as it got closer to Link, getting completely into the Hylian male's personal space. "Woah wait, you look just like him! Okay never mind I think I know what's going on. Wait, I got something else then." Waving its arms in a panic, the Armos seemed to stop before retreating back towards their holes in the wall, taking their positions up once again and going still. There would be no battle against a horde of armored golems, thank the gods. Raising its arms once again, six portraits fell from the ceiling, floating around the small Deku. One of an old man, one of a small girl with hair as green as the forest. The Deku looked at the girl before looking at Seyka, giving a small chirp as it nodded. There was also a mighty Goron, a beautiful Zora, an aged yet mighty looking woman, with ruby red eyes, and a stunning Gerudo. "This is more a test of uh..." It trailed off, trying to find the right word before just giving up, eventually shaking its head. "Just tell me the right order and on you go!"Link Seyka Rozengale [/ul][/div][/blockquote] G I F T

There were many things Link expected in life. But a voice talking to them at the bottom of the stairs in the dark grave of the Hero of Time? Yeah, that wasn't one of the things he expected.
His village education wasn't up to that of Seyka's, he imagined. Even so, he knew exactly what those stone statues were the moment they started to move, and he cursed internally at the sight of them. How many were there? More then fifteen, at the very least. Were they going to have to take on all those Armos themselves in the dark hole they'd crawled into? Not for the fire time in his life, he wished he had a gift of magic to fall back on, some innate ability beyond the few tools he had access to.
The goddesses smiled upon them and the test changed. Link visibly relaxed, only to once more feel that nagging sensation in the back of his head. Now this ghostly Deku claimed the peculiar. While he didn't consider himself to be smart - again, small town learning supplemented by many nights of reading every book he could get his hands on didn't teach him as much as he'd have liked it to - that didn't make him stupid, and after enough pieces being dropped before him like bait, he latched on.
"What do you think is going on here?" he asked, studying the pictures with careful blue eyes. Another glance was sent to Seyka, checking before starting the process. "These are the sages, aren't they? I've seen paintings of them transcribed into tomes. They always speak of "light" coming before all." MADE BY ★MEULK
