The last time she had met with Alexander, they had a discussion beneath the stars. It was the only place she could think to flee to after the chaos and destruction. Alex had followed her there, after making sure the Princess was in stable condition. And he'd had to go back to her, but Midna did not immediately follow him. He had been her guide and caretaker, perhaps, throughout this whole ordeal. It felt odd to part ways, but she could not shake off the feeling of guilt she had about what transpired. She did not want to face the Princess, nor anyone who had been affected by what happened. She still felt it was her fault... but with the passing days, that guilt lessened. It never truly went away and it would never, but she felt herself gain a bit more confidence. A private audience with the Princess had helped put her mind at ease, as well.
Midna thought it was about time to reunite with Alex. She felt comfortable enough to linger around the castle now, but she had not the strength to try and find him, wherever he may have gone. There were times when she had tried looking for him around the castle, but he was not there. She had overheard some guards mentioning that he had a temporary residence within the castle so that he could keep an eye out for Zelda. A bit of snooping was had with the Twilight Princess, and she eventually found what she could only assume was his room. In the amount of time she had spent getting to know him, she'd like to think she could pinpoint his style and some of his belongings rather easily. A long, lithe arm reached out from beneath a dark cloak to smooth out the blankets on his bed.
What he'd see when he came in would be a figure beneath a cloak, their back facing the doorway and their front toward the window. If he looked closely at the cloak, he'd probably recognize the markings to be vaguely familiar, but the figure beneath was hidden from view. Midna stared out of the window, mostly shaded from the sunlight. Hopefully he'd be here soon. It was rude to keep a lady waiting~

[attr="class","ohlove"] [attr="class","lacking"] [attr="class","eyes"]✎ tag: Midna ✉ notes: 'bout goddamn time both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. What a week. For now he'd been granted temporary access to the castle on account of being the only one there that, barring Lycoris and that other Fairy he couldn't believe he'd missed on the way out, he was the only one with any real experience treating wounds. Though that raised the question as to whether they actually needed him any further now that they had not one, but two fairies tending to the wounded. But Zelda was going to live, and Hyrule would not fall to darkness. In the end, Morrigan had ultimately failed, and all was going to be okay. Considering his last sight of the Lightbringer had been her getting impaled repeatedly, he could rest easy with the knowledge he probably wouldn't see her again anytime soon, if at all. But for now, he wanted to rest a little.
So he would make use of the room that Zelda had so graciously had prepared for him for now. Apparently it used to be the room of one of the Hylian Knights who didn't make it out. Creepy, but he'd done his best to make it a little less horrible. It was still rather spartan as he didn't actually expect to be staying there for very long, but a place to sleep was a place to sleep. Of course, he'd heard rumors flying around that there would be knightings for this whole thing, but he knew better than to take that at face value. So as he quietly opened the door to his room because really, who needed to knock for their own room, he finally took his steps inside and... wait, what the hell? Had someone gotten into his room?
The cloak hid most of the figure. There were markings on it that seemed familiar at least, so maybe it was a Twili that had gotten into his room? Might have been Midna herself, but she was an imp. Well, normally an imp, Fress had brought up the Shadow Beast thing. He'd admit that he was suspicious that it was Midna but didn't want to make any assumptions. He was also curious, he wouldn't deny that. Without a word and with no ceremony whatsoever, he simply stepped on over and reached over to pull the back of her hood down. He immediately noticed that this person was rather tall, easily around his height, maybe an inch higher. That was impressive, he figured that he could be a pretty tallk guy. Midna had heard him enter as soon as the door opened. It did not take long for him to move over to her, silently at that. She had begun to turn around and was able to stop his hand with her psychokinesis (gently, I might add) before he could pull the hood down. Her hand had lifted, long fingers waving as she pushed his hand gently with invisible waves. The Twilight Princess played it off by then taking that same hand and tucking a tuft of bright orange hair just under the cloak and behind her ear, dark purple lips flashing a coy smile. Long lashes lidded her eyes as she closed them for a moment.
She had begun to rise to her bare feet, beginning to turn the rest of her body. The cloak itself seemed to really only cover her shoulders and arms, as it flared out a bit to reveal her dark-patterend body. A skirt with a long side slit sat loosely on curvy hips, fluttering softly as her movement ceased. Then her eyes opened. Her gaze swiftly met his, carmine eyes gleamed playfully as her smile turned to a slight smirk. If he had any lingering doubts about her true identity, they might have been solved with just that simple flash of her eyes.
An almost glowing tattoed arm raised to cover her mouth as she stifled a chuckle. "My, my~ You already can't keep your hands off me~"

[attr="class","ohlove"] [attr="class","lacking"] [attr="class","eyes"]✎ tag: Midna✉ notes: ;w; But it looks so nice both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. Ah, it was her then. Beyond any doubt then this was Midna. He did his best not to let his eyes wander but really, he couldn't help it. She was beautiful, beyond beautiful. Fress's blatant infatuation with the Twilight Princess seemed to make just a bit more sense, considering how little he really seemed to know of her. ... In fact, now that he thought about it, Fress had even gotten her appearance wrong. He had explicitly described her with pale white skin, but Alex was seeing none of that. Dark blues and blacks, there was no lighter colors to be found with her. He was really trying to piece together how in the world that dope could have come up with that. So he just backed off a little as she gently batted his hand away with her powers.
There was a brief pause as his eyes perked up at what she was saying. She knew how she looked then and she was teasing him. Ohhh she was getting herself into a dangerous game now wasn't she? Crossing his arms, he smirked right back at her. "What can I say? I'm a sucker for redheads." He shook his head as if admitting to some kind of guilt. "The red eyes don't hurt either." He shrugged a little, obviously finding some humor in the midst of all this. Part of that was true though, he really did like the color red, and her sunset hair really did go well with the carmine eyes, but he wouldn't let her know that for sure. From what he knew of Midna, he'd never hear the end of it.
Taking a moment to close the door, because he wasn't sure how people seeing her running around in general would look. Or if a Twili found them, how it would look for her to be alone in a room with him. He stepped over to his bed before sitting down on the side, chuckling a little as he looked up at her. "You know, if you had shown up like that, you would have had an army in a day." Just batting her eyelashes would be enough to hook most of the men around here. Woman was a walking catastrophe waiting to happen. "Instead, you showed up in your... shadow beast form was it? And got only a single Warden for your troubles." He motioned towards himself. Deep down, Midna was pretty relieved that he had caught on to her "transformation." No matter what size or form she was in, her personality never changed and he had picked up on that. There were no awkward re-introductions to be had. Some might not have connected the imp to her true form, and she honestly wouldn't have minded if anyone else had thought her a stranger. Just knowing Alexander had figured her out this much put a wider smile to her lips.
A light chuckle escaped her. "Then I seem to be just your type." He hadn't said redheads (or sunset-heads?) were his top choice, just admitting his attraction was enough to warrant a bit of teasing.
Midna watched him as he moved and sat on his bed. She resumed her position on the bed as well, though she continued to face him. A bit of her light-hearted nature seemed to dissipate, and she sighed rather softly. "You, better than anyone, should know exactly why I could not do that." The reaction she'd get from most of the humans in Hyrule. Midna was pretty sure there were no creatures like her, and her appearance would have cause for alarm... beautiful or not. And anyway, her imp form was much easier to move about in, much easier to hide and definitely more energy efficient.
The Twili couldn't help but smile in a reassuring manner. "As much as it saddens me to say it, a simple human Warden has been far more help than an army of strangers could have been." There was no need for him to talk down about himself, as if he hadn't been there for her when she was panicked, alone and in trouble. She was appreciative of him for his help, and it was much more help than any of her Twili had provided... Granted, she did not want any of her Twili to get involved with this in the first place.
Her thoughts in the beginning were to gain help without much intervention from her people. She had just lost nearly an entire group of Messengers in an instant. Her intentions were to deal with that calamity on her own... But the comraderie she found in Alex was welcomed. Yet, had she met anyone other than him, anyone else that might have screamed at her, been afraid of her, attacked her... Her thoughts might have been different about this Realm. She might not have minded collecting an army of men she did not know, to have them sacrifice themselves for piggish desires.
But that was not the case. Her impressions had changed, from sourness to slowly accepting the Light Realm as being fairly accepting. If most Light Realmers could be like Alex, and even Princess Zelda, whom had been a courteous host before the Lightbringer intervened, then perhaps Midna could shed the negativity that her mentors had put into her mind. Perhaps, she could rewrite her own history. A peaceful history.
Midna let her eyes close for a moment, her demeanor relaxing and delving deep into thought. Her thoughts had drifted back to when Alex had met another one of her Twili after she had spoken so highly of them. Midna still thought highly of her people, but was extremely disappointed in that first encounter. After a brief moment, she began to speak again, though her eyes averted from his gaze. "I understand that the Twili have not made a good impression upon the Light Realm," she started, and knew that he would know of whom she spoke, "But please understand that I am to blame. I left my realm hastily, giving no orders to those who were left. Nearly all of my Messengers perished that day, and the rest... panicked."
Her eyes traveled upward as her hands lifted, as if catching something from the sky. A sword appeared, accompanied with those fluttering black squares that he may have noticed before. The sword, with silver metal and glowing teal markings, floated softly into both of her hands as she reached to catch it. She gently set the pommel against her thigh and let just the tips of her fingertips brush against the metal. The teal markings seemed to pulse as she ran her fingers over them. "I understand that there are some Twili who are not meant to be part of my army, part of my Twilit Messengers," the corners of her lips twitched into a small smile, "But I know one human who does."
Delicately, she lifted the sword once more and held it out to him, one hand resting beneath the grip and the other flat near the tip. "Alexander, I want you to have this. A token of my apprecation, and a symbol of the Twilit Messengers."

Yes, he knew her well enough that regardless of her form, he could still probably recognize her. No need for them to get reacquainted, they just slipped right back into it as if nothing had changed, although they had acknowledged the look at least. Still, was she just his type? Well, wasn't that a question to be asking? He made note of that, he'd just keep that to himself for a moment as he shrugged again with a smirk. "I don't see you complaining." He had come to accept that maybe he was more attractive than he had figured. Apparently he was considered handsome. He'd always thought well of himself at least, but it was nice to have outside confirmation from others. But he did understand. No matter what she did, if she appeared in public, she probably would have caused quite the stir. Granted, it would have been a bigger stir as the imp, in his opinion. But it was nice to know that she appreciated the efforts of a single man over the efforts of an army. He had tried, and to be honest, he felt like he had made an honest effort. Still, his mind lingered, and it went back to how much damage he had caused by touring around the land. That would never fully go away. He'd be able to live with it, and he'd be able to smile and move in, but there would always be a sense of linger guilt. And then it went to Fress. It wasn't a depressing topic to him like it could have been to her. He could only part his lips a little as he barked out a laugh at the mention of Fress. Much as she may not have liked his conduct, he found the guy more hilarious than anything. Well, until recently, when he had to bail the guy out. Should he tell her that Fress tried to kill a knight and made things even worse? Nah, probably wasn't the time for that. He had a sense of tact for that. And for now, all he did was listen to her story, getting just a little bit more detail on what had happened. So her guards had been her Messengers? He figured that they were some equivalent to the Hylian Knights. Made sense for the Twilight Princess to have something like that. There was an obvious look of stunned shock as she held out the sword to him. He looked at the blade itself, admiring the quality of the work. Reaching over, he ran a finger along the blade itself before stopping on the hilt. He looked up at her, taking a moment to ask with his eyes if she was sure, then back at the sword, and her hands holding the sword, then the hilt, wrapping his fingers around said hilt. It was really fine work. With a nod of her head, Midna reassure Alex that it was okay to take the sword. It was rather humbling to have him admire a piece of Twili craftsmanship. Her weaponsmiths did wonders for her to make her as many swords as she neededd, and none of them lacked in beauty either.
"It's beautiful, but it doesn't compare to how mine... was," she quipped, the end of her joke growing a little sullen. Her beautiful sword, it had been shattered so easily. It might not take much to repair, but it was the thought of how much like a twig it had snapped. It was unnerving. Midna shook her head and moved such thoughts away.
"What name are you going to give it?" she questioned with a hint of a tease. She had named her new sword after him, and he still had no idea~

[attr="class","ohlove"] [attr="class","lacking"] [attr="class","eyes"]✎ tag: Midna✉ notes: kicker is he's gonna melt it down to make a super sword both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. Taking the sword from her hands, he noticed immediately just how light it was to wield. He'd have to be more careful when fighting due to the lack of a feasible handguard sure, but this thing was lighter than his Warden sword, he knew that much. He was tempted to give it a few swings, but the tall Twili right in front of him made it clear that it would probably be a bad thing to do so. He could play with his new toy later. Although he was wondering how durable it would be? He wouldn't worry about it, she had clearly meant for him to use it, so he figured it would hold up to anything other than Morrigan smashing it to pieces, and that wasn't a problem to worry about anymore, thank the gods for her getting impaled.
So when she pushed for a name, he gave her a wave as he put on an air of indignation. "Hey, names have meaning, thank you." Oh he was going to enjoy this. "Naming things in haste results in named like Pointy Demonspanker." And really, who would name their weapon something so ridiculous? He brought a hand to his chin as he examined it for a moment, taking note of the colors of the blade and the lines running throughout it. Finally, he nodded. Yes, he had a name. "... Starlight." He looked up at Midna and smiled. Really. it was more of a reminder of giving her the Warden sword. It had been done under the stars and all that. He felt it was a nice callback.
Continuing to admire the handwork, he blinked, he realized that he hadn't seen anything quite like this metal wise. "What's it made of?" He figured it was something from the Twilight Realm, but maybe there were similarities? Maybe it could do something neat like the Warden sword could? How dare he think that her sword's name had no meaning! Had he known what it meant in Hylian-tongue, maybe he'd chide her less. His only saving grace was the name he had finally decided on~ Midna smiled in understanding. The stars were a beautiful thing, she had come to realize. They were much different than her swirl of purples, reds and oranges of a sky.
Thoughts of home drifted through her mind, especially as he asked her about the material of the sword. Midna thought for a moment, her weaponsmith knowledge not too keen, but she did remember where they came from. "Umbrite, from the Mountains of Dusk and Dawn," she recalled. "They are very dangerous to traverse, which makes umbrite a scarce and valuable material." The sword he held in his hands was one-of-a-kind and extremely valued among the Twili. She could only hope he realized the honor of being in possession of one.

A scarce and valuable metal, naturally. But this umbrite was some excellent stuff. It also hit home just how valuable and unique this weapon was. She was entrusting him with not only a rare weapon but with her reputation in a sense. If he was going to be one of the Twilit Messengers as she had brought him into the fold, then it was also safe to say that his actions would probably be representing Midna. Perhaps not to the extent that the other Twili would, but people would relate his actions to her in some form or another. "I'll make sure to live up to the expectations." Not that there were much, at least that he knew anyway. He wasn't sure just how far Fress fell short of what was expected.
Gripping the weapon with two hands, he took another moment to examine everything. "Whoever made this was an expert." It was obvious, but he felt that it needed to be said. "Tempered blade, nice and sharp." He didn't need to test it to make sure of that. If he tried he was certain that he would wind up cutting himself by accident. "Excellently balanced, lightweight. Durable." It was shaped unlike anything else he had ever seen, but it was broad enough that it could take a decent beating without shattering, lightweight enough that he wouldn't tire out soon.
Lowering the weapon, he gave Midna a smile. Not a smirk, a genuine smile. From the Mountains of Dawn and Dusk? He had no idea what she was talking about, but it was something that would make for a nice talk anyway, something to get away from it all. "What are the mountains like?" She had seen the Light Realm, but he knew little of her world. The weaponsmiths of the Twilight Realm were very talented, with that she nodded to agree. Swords weren't their only tools of the trade, either. The different kinds of weapons varied, just like the Light Realm's. Books and sketches of different Hyrulean items had been passed down for generations so the Twili were not behind in that regard.
Midna had never explored the deep mountains, but she could still recall their details as she had seen them from her castle's window. "As I said, they are dangerous. Their peaks are jagged and nearly impossible to climb... and so we go beneath them." There were many networks of caves and passages, some narrow, some large enough to fit a house in. "That is how we first discovered the umbrite. It glowed when our Sol's light hit them."

[attr="class","ohlove"] [attr="class","lacking"] [attr="class","eyes"]✎ tag: Midna ✉ notes: just as one mega sword both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. So the lines glowed only when there was light to hit them then? At least that was what he was taking away from her words at least. "Explains the glow." He observed simply. It was light enough that he could use it in his offhand anyway. He wasn't a fan of dual wielding. Well, he wasn't a fan of dual wielding two swords. Now, a sword and a staff? He could do that, it was a good mix of might and magic, power and utility. Starlight was a shorter weapon but lighter. It might work better when used with his staff. Alex's eyes seemed a little lost in thought at all the potential, it was clear that Midna had managed to stumble on something that held his interest pretty well.
His attention turned back to the Twilight Princess. The sword was nice and all, and truly it was, he'd figure out something for it, there was no way he wouldn't. But it did bring back the fact that he was a Messenger. He'd gotten in with her before he'd become a Knight. In all honesty he found that kind of amusing, but he was also honored. At least he could say that he was breaking ground here, he was pretty sure that he was the first Lightrealmer to get into the Messengers.
Which brought up the issue, she was fine with it, and he wasn't going to argue it, but he was kind of wondering how the other Twili would take this. "You do know this will probably cause a scandal though, right?" He brought up. He was still ultimately an outsider, and the idea of an outsider getting in probably wouldn't go over well with plenty of other Twili. "For some reason I suspect there will be some who will be less than thrilled." Of course, if she didn't find it an issue then that was all fine and dandy.
