Ain't safe in these woods
| Grargari's unusually thick fur never did help his case when he went into hot areas, but either way, he strengthened his self through these experiences. For once, he removed his hat and tucked it into his bag, ears standing straight up, flicking every now and then in an attempt to help cool off. This mountain plus this season was unforgiving.
Taking a drink from his canteen, he ran tongue over his lips. They both still felt parched. He'd been out here for a while, so much that he had stripped his self of a shirt in an attempt to stave off the heat, the fur down his back doing nothing but trap heat in with the shirt. It was just getting to be too much for him. Deciding to find a place to take a break, he began to search for a cave, any sort really.
Making a face, he stopped and turned to his right. He had walked past this cave before. Mentally facepalming his self, the Minish hybrid stepped into the cave, nose occasionally sniffing the air as he moved further into it until finally, some of the heat was gone. Not all of it though, it felt like somewhere in this cave system, there were more heat sources. Which.. well to a smart person, would make sense. But to Grar, he was confused. He was used to caves being cooler all through out. Not having hot spots in them. Letting out a low noise or defeat, he decided to just give up moving and sit down against a cave wall.
Occasionally, he'd chuckle to his self out of amusement, ears flicking and tail wagging. Letting his guard down a bit too much. |

Were it any other cave, letting your guard down may have not been a terrible decision. Many of the caves in the region were safe to enter, though there always seemed to be a roaming troublemaker. In this case, from deeper within the cave, a Lizalfos armed with sword and shield slowly crept up on the new prey, tongue momentarily flicking out from its mouth.
"BACK!" barked a voice from the entrance of the cave, booming from the echo. The Lizalfos let out what could be called a panicked yelp, like a puppy that was caught doing something wrong, and ran back further into the caves. The source of the voice would be none other than Volga, returning from the skirmish in Kakariko against the shadow beast. He didn't exactly expect to find anybody in the mountains at this time. Had they missed the entire affair? Hard to tell if they would have been useful or not, given they were just sitting down against the wall without a shirt. Only thing he could tell was that they had a lot of fur and animal ears. Probably a Minish, or at least half of one. He couldn't tell for sure.
"Why are you here?" Volga practically commanded of the other person, draconic armor giving very small clinks as he entered the cave proper. It didn't have very much metal in it, so most of it's interaction with itself was bone against bone, or scale. It didn't sound very much like armor, but certainly behaved like it.

Ain't safe in these woods
| Grar didn't smell the lizalfos coming up behind him, but the barking orders caused his head to pick up and whip around, hand moving towards his crossbow, but dropping as the Lizalfos skittered away fearfully from this man's voice. Why did he? Who the? uh oh.
Turning back to face the man, Grar's ears were still flicking, furious attempts to cool some of the heat off of his self. Things were a little better now that he was getting a short break in the cave. "Tryin ta cool off. It's hotter than a ...." Grar seemed to draw a blank and wound up shrugging, pushing his self to stand at his full height, rolling the slouch out of his back from how he had been sitting. "Its hot." He gave up trying to find some sorta metaphor for it.
"OH uh. Yea. Thanks fer tellin off that Lizalfos." He couldn't smell anything in this area. So many new smells he wasn't acclimated too. The smell of ash was so strong near this mountain. But oh well. He wanted to travel, and here he was, doing it. That meant going through some things you weren't used to.
Uh. Including volcanoes I guess.

"No point in letting him eat you while I'm trying to get answers." Volga responded plainly to the appreciation. Still though, trying to cool down? That wasn't exactly the answer he was looking for. You don't go to a volcano to cool off. So the man was probably talking about the cave itself. Annoying, but it seemed he would need to be more specific with his words to get the answers he wanted from this man.
"And I meant what you're doing on this mountain. Only Gorons come out this way." how the man answered that would determine how Volga treated him. He didn't bother mentioning why the Gorons come out here, didn't want to feed him a fake reason. The dragon knight stood proper before the minish, not openly hostile but ready to act. It was a mix of preparing for Lizalfos and for the unexpected visitor, but he mostly meant it for the latter. He was admittedly still in something of a combative state of mind, due to what had just transpired not long ago. Speaking of...
"And how long have you been on the mountain." That was another important detail. He'd probably want to kick them at minimum if they blatantly ran away from the shadow beast that had torn up Kakariko. Well, no, kicking would be generous. Feeding to a Lizalfos or chucking off the mountain, probably more likely. May be both. He'd had enough with useless people recently and was still fairly pissed he didn't get to kill the shadow being that attacked him in Kakariko.

Ain't safe in these woods
y i k e s. IDK the exact time frame of event from now. But I know Grar hasn't witnessed any of them. Or at least that's how I want it to be. | Well this was one hell of an interrogation. Can't an explorer go anywhere without being questioned by the local populace about every move they weren't making. Short temper beginning to flare, Grargari reached up to scratch one of his ears, trying to disrupt the mad amount of twitching and flicking they were doing. He should've expected it to be honest, but still. "Just checkin the mountain out. Tired of the seeing nothing but the damned forest." He and his family were adventurers anyways before, y know... the thing happened.
Maybe he should've stuck to the forest. Stack on the heat, and these fucking questions and you set a blazing fire to a very short fuse. Rubbing his nose to try and calm the sneer trying to work onto his face, Grar lowered his head and shook it, hiding his expression until he calmed it down. He didn't need to snap out here, not without Guau or someone who can talk to him around. "Started climbin' t'day." He muttered, picking his head back up. He was a slow traveler, but he had plenty of stamina, so walking and climbing long distances usually didn't get to him until the temperature did.
It's obvious the questions were beginning to irritate him, Grar was bad at hiding his irritation, considering he had hackles, and well... ears. Note to self, stick to the forest if you never want to be interrogated, this was a serious damper on his will to try and learn the world. Hell, maybe even recover a few lost memories along the road.
