SO SAY THE WORD AND I'LL BE RUNNING BACK TO FIND YOU Patrolling. Not exactly the most exciting part about being a Hylian Knight, but it came with the title of protecting the city. The presence of the knights is a symbol of upholders of peace and justice within their walls. Every citizen living within these cobblestoned streets of Castle Town could go to sleep at night knowing they were protected by the Hylian Knights. Seyka had finished her shift on patrol and just returned back to Hyrule Castle. It felt nice after being out in the heat of the summer sun. "Welcome back, lady Rozengale." A knight greeted her. “Please, it’s just Seyka. We’re all siblings at arms. But thank you all the same. I must turn in my report from my patrol.” She didn’t want her title of nobility to influence any better or any less to the fellow Knights of their judgments of her. The greenette wanted to be acknowledged by who she was – not by her noble house. The Knight nodded his head before turning away to return to his duties. Seyka proceeded through the lobby of the castle. The gothic-esque architecture of the interior was nothing short of breath taking. It was a challenge in itself to weave through the large constructs from one point to another, but she could only imagine the hikes it must be for servants to attend to every room in the castle. As Seyka strolled through the corridors, she paused in her tracks to spot a familiar face. A smile formed. “Ashe! Is that you?” Excited, she added a little more pep to her step to catch up to the fellow Hylian Knight. “You’re not busy, are you? I'll let you go if you are. I just returned from patrol around town.” tag: Ashennenotes: Ladies of Hyrule unite! I'LL SOAR THE ENDLESS SKIES FOR ONLY ONE SIGHT OF YOUR STARLIGHT

What was happening to her homeland? More specifically, in the Ordona Province... They had been plagued by a set of monsters, one of which Ashenne was present for. Luckily it was defeated but not without it first decimating Ordon Village. What a shame... she sure did love their cheese and goat milk... Ashe hobbled her way down the lengthy corridors of the castle. She had received orders to take it easy due to her previous battle. Her injuries were minor, but damn was she sore. Her iconic scarlet armor was in need of some repair and so she was in a more casual attire of a simple red tunic with some black leggings beneath.
Her mind had trailed to thoughts from that day, but she heard a peppy voice behind her. Seyka Rozengale, a fellow Knight, had called out her name and was quickly making her way toward the Scarlet Dragoon. Ashe cracked a smile and lifted an arm in greeting. "'lo, Seyka," she said, her smile growing a tad. It was hard to stay grumpy around Seyka, to be honest. The girl just had a soothing sort of innocence about her, and her smile was a breath of fresh air against the gloomy thoughts in her head. A distraction from the greenette was appreciated.
The thought of her being busy made Ashenne crack a sudden cackle. She'd basically been put on sick leave until her wounds were healed. "Busy? When have you ever known me to be busy?" Even if she wasn't injured, Ashe did try to shirk away from her duties... Mundane duties, at least. Ones like patrolling the town. "How did the patrol go? Any more survivors from Ordon?" SO SAY THE WORD AND I'LL BE RUNNING BACK TO FIND YOU “Just don’t let the Knight Commander catch you.” Seyka flashed a wide grin at the response she received in regards to Ashe ever being busy. It was followed by a lighthearted giggle of what the question entailed. Don’t get her wrong; Ashenne did her duties as expected of a Hylian Knight. Laziness was not exactly a fitting trait many found appealing in a protector of the crown and city, but point aside, it alleviated some tension of topics to come. It was nice to pull back and remember they were people too. A thin line formed across her lips when the news of Ordon was brought up. Sadly, Seyka shook her head in response to the question. A soft sigh escaping her lips as she pulled out a scroll documenting the reports she received. “None that have been brought to my attention unfortunately. There are scouts still surveying the vicinity in hopes of location anybody else. We’re not giving up on them.” It was still hard to believe Ordon Village had been attacked. But with Ashe being there to tell it, the greenette had no reason to doubt her. “How’ve you been after it all?” she couldn’t help but ask. The least she could do was give an ear (a very elongated, pointy ear) to Ashe if she needed someone to talk to about it. “You had it rough out there. I’m sorry about that. I wish I could’ve been there to help.” tag: Ashennenotes: Late reply! Sorry about that orz I'LL SOAR THE ENDLESS SKIES FOR ONLY ONE SIGHT OF YOUR STARLIGHT

The small quip about the Knight Commander made her laugh awkwardly. Had Seyka not heard that he had been crippled from the battle with Ziegess? Maybe it was her way of looking past the bad... just make a joke about it. Some people coped like that. Ashe would probably find that funny... someday... but right now it made her feel awkward. There was no way the Commander would catch anyone doing anything now. She wondered who would take up the mantle...
Pushing past the awkwardness, Ashe's awkward smile was replaced with a frown. No more survivors had been reported... so the village really was gone. Such a shame, she thoroughly enjoyed their cheese. The goats were pretty cute too. She hoped that maybe they escaped before they could be devoured by the black... goo... shadow... thing. Animals had better senses than people, after all. They could sense earthquakes and shit before they happened. Strange things, animals were. Strange but neat.
Ashe gave a little stretch to her limbs as Seyka asked about her well-being. "Sore, mostly... Can't move too much or my wounds will reopen. But it's nothing I can't handle." She waved her hand in a dissmissive manner as Seyka expressed her guilt about not being there. "You're lucky you weren't. At least you are all in one piece. Let's just hope that the hard times are over."

SO SAY THE WORD AND I'LL BE RUNNING BACK TO FIND YOU Bad joke? Yeah. That was a bad joke. She rubbed the back of her head realizing her attempt at making light-ness of the events taking place didn’t quite work out. Very few survivors were reported afterwards. There was few who appeared trying to defend the vicinity – including Princess Zelda herself. In the end, the village itself was left in shambles. “When we find anymore news on survivors, then we can focus on relief efforts.” Only the villagers could help with relief efforts. Seyka nod her head in agreement. They would have to use the news of Ordon Village as a lesson. A valuable lesson now. “How long as it been since we last encountered a threat of this scale?” she couldn’t help but ponder, “Hyrule has been at peace for many years. I suppose the country has gotten far too comfortable under this state peace.” Not that it was a bad thing. People needed to understand peace. How much of a treasure it was. Why defense groups such as the Hylian Knights existed to protect it. Sure, there was the occasional encounter with a group of monsters and such. But nothing that hasn’t been in the realm of possibility to raze a village to the ground. Maybe she was thinking too much on it. Seyka was counting the many blessings that came from this. Nobody died from the situation. “I know of a good way to take it easy,” she smiled softly, “A good meal. What do you say?” tag: Ashennenotes: Foreshadowing is real. Ashe nodded in agreement. Not a lot of time had passed since the attack so there was still hope that there would be more survivors. She really hoped so. "I will do what I can even if more survivors aren't found. The survivors we have still need a home." When she was ready and able, she could help with rebuilding the town. She had heard many good things about it... Maybe she could go there to retire, if it would ever stand again.
The dragoonness shrugged and sighed softly. "I've never known a threat this large in all my time being alive. I didn't know a threat like this existed." She truly hoped Seyka was right. The rest of the Knights and anyone that was able to fight... she hoped if the time came, they could do something to help. Otherwise Hyrule would be in grave danger.
The thought of food suddenly brought a hunger pain to Ashenne's stomach. It honestly hadn't been that long since she had a meal, and honestly, she probably shouldn't have another. But the lady likes her food! A smile flashed on her features. "A meal and some ale! That sounds like a mighty fine way to take it easy." She thought for a moment. "Have any place in mind? Or shall Telma's bar hit the spot?" Telma's tavern was a usual hang-out spot for other Knights and even common folk alike. There was always good food and drink to be had, but if Seyka had another suggestion, Ashenne would be willing to try it~ Seyka Rozengalegood thing I'm eating dinner as I post this or else I'd probably get hungry too *w* MADE BY ★MEULK

SO SAY THE WORD AND I'LL BE RUNNING BACK TO FIND YOU There were a lot of things out there in Hyrule many didn’t know about. Seyka was certain any secrets left behind from the tales of old left out details to ensure peace and prosperity around the kingdom was preserved for years to come. Unfortunately, it left the present generation ignorant to the potential threats that could still be lying out there. “My only concern now is knowing that an opposition of this level existed… I can’t help but come to an obvious conclusion: What’s stopping anymore like it from returning? I don't wish to scare anyone, but best to keep our wits about us and the edge of our swords sharp.”A grim thought to be said. Nevertheless, it wasn't enough to dissuade Seyka from believing that as long as there was people then there was hope for good and the future. Thankfully, that was the conclusion of that conversation. The proposition of food brought brighter vibes between the girls, which Seyka was thankful for. “I'm perfectly okay with Telma's place. Let’s head over to bar.” It was the one place where she didn’t have to worry about stiff formalities or people treating her any different from being a daughter from a noble house. Not to mention the food there was unrivaled. Sure there were great places out there that could compete, but the greenette had made up her mind. Seyka walked over to another Hylian Knight stationed by a door. It was the office to the administration office where Knights turned in their reports. She saluted them before providing a scroll to them. The armor clad individual took it form her hands them nodded his helmet head. Having turned in her patrol report, she looked back to Ashe. “Other than the events of Ordon, anything else happen as of late? Find anybody interesting~?” a playful tone teasing at the end of her question. tag: Ashennenotes: This would probably be the last time they enjoy food at Telma's bar ;w; I'LL SOAR THE ENDLESS SKIES FOR ONLY ONE SIGHT OF YOUR STARLIGHT
