Ain't safe in these woods
| A simple man with simple needs, Grar usually found his self the victims of shocked expressions among the Hylian people when his tail would begin to wag, and show itself from the safety of the cloak, at the simple offer of clean water. Of course, sometimes it was easy to sniff out fresh water sources, but when the heat kept everything stagnated, he'd much rather wait until he was at a town than drink from the stagnant pools. He could if he had to, but ya see, he didn't have to.
The man held his hat to his head for just a moment as he glanced about, standing next to a fresh spring, gripping it as if the breeze would steal it off of his head. Once he deemed the area safe, he would sit down by the pool of water, removing his hand from his hat, looking down at the reflection. Occasionally, he'd give his self a toothy, grin. Then a predatory, silly, the list goes on and on. He continued to amuse his self this way as well until a noise snatched up his attention.
Immediately, he jumped to his feet and started looking around, nose sniffing and picking up bird... bird..... bird... another bird. Birds. A flock of birds had flown upwards from the brush, something had either startled them, or made them decide they wanted to take a mass exodus for their own amusement. Curiosity getting the better of him, Grar let out a short, low growl and started stepping towards the tree line, looking about for anything interesting. Nothing. Huh.
Boring.

The scent of the woods filled her lungs. A wave of great familiarity overwhelmed her senses. The earth beneath her feet, warmed by the summer’s heat, had been a welcoming sensation. The ambient noises of the wildlife gave her a gentle reminder of her identity. She was home. Not that far from these neck of the woods was the place of her birth. Memories she was able to keep buried had suddenly risen from the ground. She could still envision her loving mother. The way she could nestle her head against Myrna’s to keep her comforted. Her father right beside them as they protected the pack. An ache of sorrow took a stab at her chest. No longer were they here. It was one of the things she cursed Mother Nature for. Even though her creatures have been slain, nature continues to move on. Though she was not here to take a visit down memory lane. She wanted remnants of home. Though the travel back to Faron had been one walking in the baking sun. Her throat was parched so she searched for a familiar spring to drink upon. But it would appear this spring had been visited by someone other than herself. Myrna squinted at the lone being. A twig snapped under her feet, causing the birds to flutter away. “Hello? Who you?” The only greeting she was going to offer. tag: Grargari Ausuebelnotes: I hope this reply is good!

Ain't safe in these woods
hot day. yes. Your reply is good! | Grar stood up taller and gave the other person a grin, giving a single wave of his hand. "Heya. I'm Grargari." He stated simply, and a bit like an excited dog, to the lady that had appeared from the brush. To be honest, yea, he was startled a little bit, but he definitely felt less threatened to see what it was. Here he was expecting some sort of monster or something to come stalking out of the brush.
He was a bit disappointed in his predatory senses letting him down like that though. Reaching up to rub his nose with a gloved hand, Grar shifted his weight onto his hip. "Who're you?" He'd hope they'd at least have the decency to return their name, since he had practically blurted his out in excitement. He took a moment to try and think of why this person may be out here in the woods an oh! Water?! He looked at her and then turned to face the spring once more, sidling out of her way, moving a hand to motion to the water.
To be honest, he was feeling kinda thirsty his self, but he had a canteen on his person for a reason. Pulling it free from his hip, he took a quiet drink and moved back to sit next to the cool water. The breeze coming off of the small water fall was pleasant to the thicker man. His thick hair held heat in general, and any sort of relief was a goddess send. It... may also be a problem that his ears were tucked under a heavy, black hat.

Habits were difficult to break. Myrna did not blame the person for being a little defensive when she approached. If she was in his shoes there was no doubt she'd feel a little wary if something she knew nothing of was coming her way. Let alone they were in the middle of the woods which were famed for not being the safest parts to dwell within. She nodded her head softly as she took tentative steps to the spring. “Hello Grargari. I’m Myrna.” Upon closer inspection, she noticed he dressed much akin to that of man-spawns. He had the scent of the worn road on him. Nothing like that of the forest all around him. A traveler from what she could gather. But he didn’t behave like that of man-spawns. He had a pose about him that reminded the fox minish of her own kin. He was a strange one. “What brings you here? Not lost, are you?” she asked. “I can smell road from beyond the woods on you. Looking for village of man, are we?” What did they call the village again? Ordon? She couldn’t remember exactly. Though the Minish Village didn’t have any quarrels with the man spawns who lived in the village. tag: Grargari Ausuebelnotes: n/a

Ain't safe in these woods
That broken english is adorable | Grar was now squatting by the spring once again before slowly, rolling onto his heels to flop onto his butt. "Hiya Myrna." He grinned up at her, fiddling with the brim of his hat just for somethin to do. She was one of him, she had to be... well. Yea, he was a minish, but only half. Still! She carried the scent of a Minish as well as the look.
Was he lost? Furrowing his brows, he shook his head and let out a lazy, drawn out "Naaaaah." Thinking on it for a moment, he may as well admit it. If she was a Minish, it was only a matter of time before she saw him workin away as one of the Sentinels. It was already good she didn't seem to know much about him. "M' one of ya I do believe. Takin a break from the guardin n what not." He admitted, taking his hat off and ruffling his hair and ears to prove a point. Relief washed over his face as the breeze filled his hair, taking away the hot air that had been stored under the heavy piece of clothing.
His tail was still hidden underneath of his cloak, but that thing could just stay settled down like it was. Just like a dog, he was notorious for cleaning off tables with his tail. "Why ya askin? Just a curious lil thin' er did ya need directions to the village?" Grar began to relax a little more, the obvious start he had gotten was worn off now. He actually found it amusing and silly how badly he had been keyed up for potential danger when he probably could have smelled a monster coming from a mile away. Well, the ones that stink, that is.

Friendly stranger. He gave no inclination of hostility since she revealed herself. So she relaxed her tensed shoulders some before she went to the water’s edge to scoop water into her paws to take a drink. “Nice to meet Grargari. Welcome, I would say, but woods aren't always welcoming.” Monsters were notorious for trying to use the forest as cover to pounce on unsuspecting prey. Some Minish would say this would test their mettle on how strong they are in survival. Myrna cared little for tests of strength and pride. She preferred just living to see another day. Guardian duties? So her instincts were right about him. He was Minish. At least, part way. She still could smell a different scent on him. “Minish Sentinel? Honor to be so. Honor to meet.” She nodded her head back over to him. Though she turned away to scoop up more water to cool off with. Also to keep sour thoughts from poisoning the good mood she was in. Why didn’t the Minish Sentinels come when her village was being attacked in the groves? No blame was to be made for things that cannot be undone. She shook her head softly when he offered to take her to Ordon Village. There was no need to travel there. “No. I have no desire to travel to village of man-spawns. There is nothing there for me. I thought you may wanted to go there. If not case then that fine. Been while since I last met another Minish.” tag: Grargari Ausuebelnotes: Comes with not dealing with many people in her life. c':

Ain't safe in these woods
| Her broken english was actually kinda adorable, if it weren't for the fact that it meant she probably didn't deal with many people. Well. At least she wasn't feral. "Why thank ya. Not everyday I see a Minish that I ain't seen before." He admitted, placing the hat between his legs and leaning forward to fill his canteen again. A wonderful tool. He was beyond grateful that his mother was a hylian, that his parents were travelers. He may not remember too much, but he learned enough to make up for his lack of book smarts.
"Why dya say that? Sometimes its nice ta have a talk with strangers. Not everyone is as social as everyone though." He frowned to his self as he defeated his own comment with a shutdown. In fact, he seemed mildly confused now, his self. Shaking his head and putting the canteen back to his hip, he remained sitting, but still made motions with his hands as he spoke. "Long time since ya last met another one of us? What keeps ya away from the village? If I dare ask ya."
It seriously was a daring question. He could understand not wanting to be looked at by others sometimes. When they knew what ya were and what ya did... some of them gave ya nasty, scornful looks. Even his own grandparents shot him looks that could catch a man on fire if they were made of magic. It was his fault for what happened to their son, yea. But he had thought family would learn to forgive one another after some time. Ya know, it was an accident. Wasn't like it was on purpose.
But while the question was daring. He was Grar, and he was stupid. His curiosity got the best of him, and he couldn't take the question back now.

Grar had a valid point. Sometimes it was worth the risk to get to know people, little by little, as it was only way to make friends. It was the only way to build trust with another person. Her vulpine ears lowered softly as she gave it more thought than necessary. “I believe the words are…” She tapped one clawed finger onto her cheek as she tried to find the common language for what she was looking for, “Bad experience. That is all.” But he was Minish Sentinel, yes? Then he was one who protected the natural order of the woods, yes? Myrna hoped that was the case. The fox Minish took a deep breath listening to the question. There was a big village that only select few knew of which the Minish made a settlement upon. To protect their kin and their very way of life from poachers and those who wish harm on the Picori. “Home not Minish Village,” she explained, “Home in grove deep in Faron Woods. Home is destroyed. Nothing left and few survived. I am sure they went to village, but it’s not same. I seek different purpose.” Maybe she’ll find home elsewhere? Though she wanted to turn the conversation around. “Grargari from Minish Village? Or do you travel like me?” tag: Grargari Ausuebelnotes: I hope this is good enough and not too short. ;w;

Ain't safe in these woods
Quality over quantity hun, don't you worry about it, it's good. | He frowned some and leaned forward a touch more, one gloved hand running through his hair, between his wolf like ears. "Bad 'sperience. Sorry ta hear that, Myrna." it was truly a shame that there always seemed to be someone or something out there to ruin something for someone. Gritting his teeth, he took a moment to try and imagine someone that could be cruel to a woman like this. Nothing came up, so he just relaxed his jaw and let loose a heavy sigh.
She went on to explain more and his frown deepened further, eyebrows knitting together. "I... I'm sorry. What sorta purpose ya lookin fer?" He asked, picking his hat back up and concealing his ears once more before they started to betray emotions. He didn't wanna scare this fox off with his body language. "Nah. I travel. Parents were travelers, had me on the road and kept on goin. Ain't no better feelin than travelin with someone ya know n trust." He rattled on, head still turned upwards to keep an eye on the fellow minish.
It seemed like she was opening up to him quite a bit now, maybe he earned a lil bit of her trust. It was nice, really, he didn't see his self as an all too approachable fella, even when he was being open. Poor Guau on the other hand... just couldn't get them to stick around him. Something about his aura upset the other minish. They couldn't be blamed though, they were both predators, but his friend was something more than a predator, it felt like. For a moment, he wondered where Guau was now, but pushed the thought out of his mind, keeping his attention refocused back on Myrna.

“Grargari has no reason to apologize. Not his fault it happened, but thank you,” she replied back softly. Myrna did not ignore the sympathy he offered her in regards to the tragedy. The compassion in regards to loss was something she knew had to be taken with gratitude. Though it didn’t help the next question directed to her. “Not sure what new purpose is yet. I hope travel will lead me to it. Maybe it will.”After all, when you don’t have anywhere else to turn to then it was only natural to roam around until that purpose finds you or you find that purpose. At least that’s how it made sense to the fox Minish. In the mean time it was nice to keep company with the fellow Minish. Socializing wasn’t her strong suit but the little talks… well, they were the small stuff that helps get her through the day. “Grargari seen many places then? Been to different and strange lands? Seen many other races like pointy ears or man-spawns?” she couldn’t help but ask. “Like they travel in strange machine made of wood that travels and pulled by horses. Or wield tools of metal.” Living in the depths of the woods, things such as wagons or any device made out of metal were strange things even though they were so basic to other lifestyles. She began to reconsider her previous thoughts. A clawed hand tapped onto her chin as an idea struck her. “I still plan on traveling. To find purpose, but I know nothing of world beyond forest. If Grargari don’t mind, maybe Grargari can teach me things I do not understand? Perhaps it might be best to pay visit to village. The one man-spawns call Ordon.” tag: Grargari Ausuebelnotes: alrighties. thank you ;w;

Ain't safe in these woods
| This one was definitely missing out on some experiences. "Yup. Carts and what not." He almost motioned to his back, where concealed under his cloak, just like his tail, was his crossbow and bolts. The large, grey cloak, mottled green, served it's purpose well. The only thing indicating what he was being a faint emblem of his father's crest on it, and underneath, his last name, written in hylian. "There's a whole glorious world out there, just waitin fer ya ta see it Myrna." he grinned and tipped his head a little, pushing his self to his feet to stretch his back some.
Now the biggest problem was traveling with Grar. Grar's scent, his aura, everything about him radiated alpha predator. Of course, while it wasn't Guau, it was still that of a large beast. This girl though didn't seem off put at all, maybe that was a good thing... maybe it was bad. Grar was dangerous to be around for extended periods of time due to his anger control, and if they encountered anything along the way, while yes, he would be able to protect her. That wasn't the problem. The problem was his tenacity, and his tendency to lose control of his self entirely. Couple that with his monstrous strength and... well, she seemed nimble and quick enough to get away if worst came to worst. Grar was slow, and lacked agility.
He was just scared of hurtin her. He was scared of hurting others in general.
"I'd be more than happy ta teach ya about the world. Mind ya, I ain't too smart outside of street smarts, but I can do my best." Fiddlin with the brim of his hat, he looked down at Myrna, keepin to his full height simply for the fact that he wanted to look around, nose sniffing the surroundings as the wind blew. "Ordon got messed up a lil while back, there ain't much left at all hun." He mentioned, a frown creasing his face at the memory of what lay there the last time he saw it. There were rumors left and right, but nothing for certain. "I ain't sure what happened to it, the rumors are goin crazy. But I can show you what's left of the place if ya'd like?"

Carts? So that is what they call the wooden machines that were pulled by horses. Golden eyes looked across Grargari’s current attire taking note of the things crafted beyond the means of the woodlands they currently dwelt within. He sounded so enthusiastic when he talked about traveling around. To see the world beyond what she understood. “I will take Grargari’s word. If he says it to be then I believe him.” She nodded her head. She swished her fluffy vulpine tail when he agreed to help her understand the world better. All she knew was the woods. Everything else was foreign to her. Since he had a better grasp of the land then it would be beneficial to learn all that she could. “Thank you, Grargari,” she said with a smile. But the delight of finding a mentor of sorts quickly dissipated when she heard Ordon Village was destroyed. Her face paled at the news. “Why is man village destroyed?” she asked, oblivious to the fact Grargari just said he had no idea what happened or why it’s in shambles. All that mattered was that she was having flashbacks on when her own home was destroyed. “Grargari, please take me to Ordon. I would like to see for myself… If... If village is destroyed then I think Minish Village should know too. Man-spawns need help. They would need help to build back up again. Can't fend themselves alone.” tag: Grargari Ausuebelnotes: low-key triggered myrna

Ain't safe in these woods
Just don't go firin off randomly now. :D .... D: I'll show myself out. | The frown that creased the large man's face stayed in spot as he watched her body language die off like an impaled animal. "Why? Don't nobody around here know for sure, but trust me darlin, the Minish village already knows about Ordon. Some other minish discovered its state a lil while back and that's when all the rumors started up." He explained, a gloved hand running under his cloak to scratch at his arm.
His tail still stayed stock still, limp behind him, the grey object seemed just as lifeless as Myrna's face appeared to him. I'll take you to Ordon, sure. We'll go from there. But if ya start gettin too uncomfortable now, ya gotta lemme know. It can be kinda hard lookin at the rubble." Of course, she should know that though. Taking a few steps in the direction of the village, he stopped to look back at her. "So you'd be willin ta help men ya don't know? Mighty sweet of ya Myrna. Somethin I can respect if that's the case." Just to keep a conversation going. Sometimes a quiet walk was nice, but silence also meant being left alone to your thoughts.
With the way her face was paled and her delight seemed to be sapped out of her soul, he didn't want to leave this sweet lil thing alone to whatever demons may be floatin around in her head. His wolf like ears flicked underneath the top of his hat as he continued walking through, making a trail to Ordon for her, slowly though, occasionally checking back to make sure she kept up with him.

“I would like to request Minish Village to help Ordon,” she said with affirmation in her voice. “It’s not out of kindness… It’s because of similar circumstances.” People lost their home. They lost their way of life in a single day. Some could have lost their very lives. Myrna knew that feeling all too well. It still left a sting in her heart to remember how her home was destroyed. A place where one could rest their weary heart. “My home was destroyed by poachers, Grargari. People who view Minish no different than animals to hunt.” Her vulpine tail lowered softly as she dug her claws into the surface of her palms. Her feet moving to keep up with the larger half-Minish. “Terrible things happen. Sometimes they have no reason. So I learned. But how we act towards them is what important,” she explained. “I can’t go back home, but if people survived Ordon then why not help them have home to come back to? Home is important. Yours is out traveling. Man-spawns have way of life, peaceful one like Minish Village, with their own things… It just feels wrong to leave them be.” Mama. Papa. The rest of her foxkin tribe no longer had a home, but they acted to the best of their ability. Sacrificing their lives so others could live. Those who scattered and found a new place to call home. Surviving to see another day. The will to live to enjoy the freedom where happiness was possible. Myrna wanted it. But more than just for herself. She still got lonely. Maybe she was asking for too much out of this stranger. But gratitude could be found in her swishing tail as Grargari agreed to take her to Ordon Village. All she had to do now was steel her nerves for what she may see. “Thank you for help, Grargari.” tag: Grargari Ausuebelnotes: Passion pants are tight

Ain't safe in these woods
| The leather of his gloves creaked some in strain as he balled his fists and released, releasing some of the tension. Poachers. "Leave it to poachers to mess everythin up. Givin hunters a bad name, ruinin lives. It's sick." Grargari nearly growled out, but reached up to place a gloved palm over his cheek, rubbing at his facial hair. "Yea, ya gotta good point there Myrna. Ain't nothin wrong with wantin ta help people out." If he brought out some bad memories again, he honestly didn't mean to.
The large male walked through the shrubs until they came to a trail. Some of the taller bushes were really giving him a hassle to maneuver around if he up and tripped on one. He cursed his lack of agility in his head and dusted his self off. Looking back at Myrna, he thought on it longer. He didn't know what it was like to lose an entire village. He just lost his parents. And he'd rather not think on the how. He was just some mixed blood freak born of a dire wolf-kin father. Rubbing his chin, he blinked when he realized he was staring for too long, and continued leading her down the path.
"Ain't no problem Myrna. Can't just let a lady roam around on her own and walk into what may be a dangerous situation." Taking his hat off and ruffling his ears once more, he walked with his hat in his hand for a while, dark grey, almost black, red streaked ears flicking. Giving his head a few shakes, he fluffed his hair a little to allow more air flow. "Ain't tryna call ya weak though." He corrected, realizing that it may have sounded like he was insulting her.
"Whoo damn. It's a hot one today."... A... useless, idle comment. But he just felt the need to say it.
