[attr="class","smdbody"]The day was superb - the sky clear and notably absent of any amount of gloominess. The waters were calm as a result, their present temperature comfortable against his thick layer of scales. The royal Zora was presently submerged within the depths of Lake Hylia, relishing the moments of solitude granted. He purposefully swam alone, allowing for the weight of his responsibilities as king to slide away for only a brief while. After today - once the sun proceeded to fall only to rise again - he would don his travel garb and take leave of the comfortable confines of his kingdom. It was nothing he dreaded, for he had made the decision of planning and executing these trips for the sole purpose of exposure. When he had previously carried the title of 'prince', his mother and father forbade him from stepping foot on territory that was deemed unfamiliar and unusual to their lot. The former queen and king had little interest in further exploring such things, after all. But Zitos desired knowledge for both himself and his people. Magics, inventions, and various subjects of a curious nature awaited discovery. Their kingdom would thrive and expand if they simply removed themselves from the shackles of tradition. It would take time - perhaps even his entire life cycle - for such changes to bear fruit. But he was willing to invest in such an idea, and would do so eagerly and without hesitance. 'Ah. That reminds me.' The king moved with purpose, having scheduled an encounter that would take place in several hours or so. He had reached out to the bordering kingdom, having requested a mage from their courts to present themselves to the Zora and serve as their guest for a short while. They were to meet at the river's upper portion - where boats were often rented for the sole purpose of catering to tourists. Zitos had made the decision of greeting their strange guest - so pleased by this stranger's acceptance of their invitation that he had sought to handle the introductions on his own. And so he would eventually take leave of the river, his claws digging into the tender earth as he pulled himself free of the water's hold. The rental location was within sight, and the king decided that such a location for a meeting would indeed be preferable. It was easily recognizable, and King Zitos wouldn't be difficult to locate if ones gaze were to wander enough. | [attr="class","smdlyrics"] strike [attr="class","mdlyric"]me down [attr="class","giveitlyric"]give it everything you've got |

If my velocity starts to make you sweat then just don't let go As the court mage, Jace was the scholarly one, and as a result, was the one who handled all the mail meant for the Princess, the knights, and naturally himself. He had to remember to thank that one lad for being on point. What was his name again? Rawlin? Roja? It started with an R, he knew that much. Ah well, he could ask later, maybe tip them next time. Now about these letters. Just the usual bit of junk, creepmail for Zelda, that sort of thing. Oh, one caught his eye at least. Breaking the blue & white wax seal, Jace opened the letter and gave it a once over. A marriage proposal for Zelda from the Halidom of... well how in the blazing hells was he supposed to pronounce that name? Giving it a once over, Jace squinted his eyes and tossed it into the fire. Next letter... oh~ He recognized the seal of the Zora royal family on this one. Breaking it, he read its content, and was a bit surprised. He, Jace, was wanted? Interesting.
It didn't take too long. The gift of flight was a wonderful thing. Safe too. Who knows what could have happened if he had walked! The thought of just avoiding all that danger was a relieving thought indeed. Also made things faster when you could just soar over every obstacle as well. As such, it didn't take nearly as long to reach the destination. It was when he arrived that the Zora King himself, a rather large being, easily eclipsing his short butt, pulled himself from the waters of the river. Jace really hoped he wouldn't have to be doing that. He couldn't really swim all that well, not for a Zora's standards. It'd be embarrassing. Floating down on the Obsidian Tower, Jace kept himself calm to make sure he kept his balance. With the tip of his staff behind him, he rode it much like a broom. A silence ensued. Jace blinked at the Zora king for a moment before his orange eyes widened. "Ah, yes, well, hello, your Majesty." Wait, no. That wasn't it. He was representing Zelda here. He had to be more formal, more elegant, more... inspiring.Although he was again reminded just how small he was compared to the king. Another silence ensued for a few moments before he tried again. "I am honored, that you would uh, invite me here."Jace cursed himself for screwing up again. @zitos [googlefont=Oswald]

[attr="class","smdbody"]Visibly impressed by the display of magics, King Zitos moved to further approach the smaller male with several lengthy strides. Indeed, their sizes differed, but the Zora wasn't terribly surprised by such a minor and unimportant detail. The gentleman's height was comparable to the vast majority of the population - so it could be considered quite normal as a result. "Greetings, my friend!" His voice was loud and boisterous, his pleased grin full and filled with pointed teeth as he peered at the hovering mage. He was despairingly ignorant when it came to the mechanics of flight - especially one fueled by magic - and was honestly thrilled to be bearing witness to such a display. "It is an honor to have you here, truly." He had taken notice to the anxiety rolling off of the Hylian, and hoped that he could alleviate such tension with time. The man, after all, would be greeted as both friend and guest for the remainder of his stay. And preparations had been made so that his time spent within the confines of the kingdom proved pleasant. "I had expected that you would travel here on foot - and with guards, as well. But I see you've taken on another method for yourself. It seems quite efficient, actually." A low chuckle escaped him before he executed a slight bow. "Your journey was pleasant, I hope? And are you familiar with this area?" | [attr="class","smdlyrics"] strike [attr="class","mdlyric"]me down [attr="class","giveitlyric"]give it everything you've got |

If my velocity starts to make you sweat then just don't let go Perhaps anxious was a proper word to use for this kind of situation. Yes, it could be said that Jace was indeed anxious, nervous, with butterflies in his stomach what have you. However, "Thank you, King Zoro-Zitos!" When he was making gaffes like that, it was perfectly understandable that he might be nervous. One turn often led to another and so it was with him that he'd probably just keep screwing up. Fortunately it seemed that this King Zitos was a polite and understanding chap, so hopefully it wouldn't be too difficult. However, Jace gave him an odd look when he was praised for his flight. He looked down at the Obsidian Tower briefly, as if checking to see if that was what was really being complimented. "It, yes? It is helpful. I don't have to slow anyone down and be a burden for them. I think I've been here before though, just... never in the Domain." He really wasn't sure how to react to all that. He wasn't used to having people praise him for that. He was also reminded again that this Zora could probably kill him with a hug if he had half a mind to. Looking towards the boats, Jace shifted a little. "Are those your boats, your Majesty?" King Zitos had said he'd been expecting guards and for him to come on foot. Oh dear, he'd already just wasted Zora resources. Who knows how else those boats could have been put to use? He chewed his lip a little at the question. @zitos [googlefont=Oswald]

[attr="class","smdbody"]Zitos shook his head in reply to the question, struggling to suppress his amusement all the while. Were all Hylian as entertaining as this one? "No. We've little need for boats, my friend." He gestured toward the river. "The original plan was for you to accompany me to my kingdom. I would have simply required for you to settle upon my back! I imagine that would have made for an exhilarating experience, yes? Unfortunately, your guards would have been expected to remain here. I have only allowed a chosen few outsiders into my kingdom as of late." Another chuckle slipped free, his handsome features crinkling slightly to reveal that the idea pleased him immensely. He doubted that Jace had been granted the opportunity to travel upon the waters at startling speeds before. "But my kingdom is accessible by flight. You'll be able to reach the throne room, directly." He helpfully gestured toward the river. "Merely follow the river - or - if you wish - track my movements carefully and I shall lead you there. My people will greet you warmly - for you are expected." Once again he bowed lightly, intending to make his exit so that they could continue onward to his abode. "I am eager to hear of both your journey and the status of the Kingdom of Hyrule. I wish to know of how your queen is fairing, after all." And with that he turned and preformed a sharp dive into the waters, emerging for a moment to cast Jace a glance before proceeding to swim. Despite his size, he was absurdly quick, a portion of him remaining above the water's surface as he progressed toward the domain. | [attr="class","smdlyrics"] strike [attr="class","mdlyric"]me down [attr="class","giveitlyric"]give it everything you've got |

If my velocity starts to make you sweat then just don't let go Jace would prefer to fly. He tried to imagine riding Zitos's back through the waters and into the domain. He came to the conclusion there would be a lot of screaming. And a lot of getting drenched and that just wouldn't do for his hair. Or his clothes. Or his gold. Probably his smell too. He worked so hard to keep himself pretty. So silently, he nodded and flew after Zitos on his staff, managing to steadily keep up. He'd done this for so long that it felt like second nature to him. He legitimately could not see himself losing his ability to fly without losing a part of himself in the process. When they reached the domain, Jace merely tiled upward and went up and over the waterfall. He imagined this would be taking place in the throne room. It made sense, at least to him. He did all his business with Zelda in the throne room. That's how it was supposed to be, right? Well, maybe to make sure he would just hover over the spring in the center, stay out of Zitos's hair... fin... tail, whatever it was. If he was asked to leave he would simply step back. But the guards seemed nice enough and didn't seem to mind his presence. Fidgeting a little on his staff, he had questions to answer. "Well um, Zelda--Princess--QUEEN Zelda is doing quite fine. She is getting ready for her coronation and has already received many offers. Just before I left there had been an offer of marriage from the Halidom of... of..." He still couldn't pronounce its name for the life of him. Shaking his head, he moved on. "Regardless, I don't understand why you'd invite me."It made no sense. He was the court mage. Wouldn't the Captain of the Knights be more honored with the Zora? Hell, wouldn't it have made sense to invite Zelda herself? With how seriously she took things he was almost certain she'd come. @zitos [googlefont=Oswald]

[attr="class","smdbody"]King Zitos had arrived several moments prior to Jace, and was still in the midst of settling himself upon the throne because of it. His gaze would fix itself upon the thin male as the mage remained mounted upon his staff, speaking in a hurried tone as he sloppily delivered his next few sentences. It was not terribly surprising to hear of the marriage proposals - for a multitude of those whom deemed themselves worthy would love nothing more than to acquire the title of king. The Zora could not help but wonder, in an admittedly absent fashion, whom the female would settle upon. A vast majority of royals were burdened with the task of producing a heir before they grew too old, after all; and he was no different. "I've my reasons, mage." His words were purposefully terse, a small frown marring his handsome features. "My people..." Nearly a dozen citizens were languishing about within the pool or upon the stone steps which framed it. They looked on with interest; most shifting their curious and wide-eyed gazes upon the man. "... know little of magic and of alchemy. I've brought you here to share a fraction of your talent with us. Exposure to such things is what I seek for my kingdom." His gaze flitted toward several children whom were clustered together a short distance away, all three looking on with a hint of uncertainty. King Zitos desired for their eyes to grow alight with wonder so that they may one day aspire to learn of such things. 'Ah. I see they've already taken notice to his strange flight capabilities.' "My mother and father were bound by tradition," he said, further explaining his reasons. "They discouraged the use of such things - which has stunted our growth somewhat as a result." The king allowed for a brief pause before continuing. "The request is a simple one - almost absurdly so," Zitos continued. "I simply desire for you to show your talents to those whom are presently standing in this room." | [attr="class","smdlyrics"] strike [attr="class","mdlyric"]me down [attr="class","giveitlyric"]give it everything you've got |

If my velocity starts to make you sweat then just don't let go Jace flinched slightly from Zitos's terse tone. He did his best to hide it, but the observant could notice the slight twinge in his shoulders. He was alone in Zora's domain surrounded by people who really didn't seem all that interesed. They were staring though. He really wished that they'd stop. He could feel their eyes crawling all over him. He kicked his legs up behind him, there was no way they were seeing what was under his robe! It was only when King Zitos explained why he was here that Jace took his attention away from their eyes. They wanted him to teach them magic? What? He would be the worst candidate for a Zora though, wouldn't he? How in the world was he to break this to the king then? "I mean I'm honored but..." He said, slowly. Pausing to consider his words, how to say it, before nodding slightly to himself. "I'm not a battlemage. I don't see how I'd be of any use to the Zora." They were a proud people. They were warriors in almost every sense of the word. And Jace? Jace was not. He couldn't conjure firestorms. He couldn't summon a demonic horde to fight for him. Turning his gaze down to the pool, as if feeling a sense of shame washing over him. "In truth, your Grace," He reached up and began to take off the ringed pauldron on his left arm. Holding it out in front. He just had to do this once. Just once. He hated performing in front of a crowd. His mouth went dry. "My position in the Hylian Knights is more ceremonial than anything. The best I can do," He thought for a moment, a light flashed, and the steel ringed pauldron was steel no more, but solid gold. "Is this."@zitos [googlefont=Oswald]

[attr="class","smdbody"]The Zora whom observed the display reacted positively, their voices presented as hushed whispers as their eyes widened in obvious shows of awe. Even the elders appeared a touch impressed by the seemingly simple display. Zitos cast the mage a reassuring smile, his own sharp gaze reflecting only delight. "You misunderstand my request, my friend," he said. He waited, patiently, for silence to settle completely within the confines of his throne room before continuing. "My request was only for you to demonstrate your potential and prowess in magic. I've little desire for you to reveal your precious secrets - nor for you to serve as a teacher to my people." The Zora paused before leaning forward slightly, an underlying excitement in his tone. "Our education system is quite simple. Literature, basic mathematics, and history presently serve as its focus. Our little ones are also introduced to the art of combat as soon as they are capable of properly grasping a training spear." He allowed the Hylian a moment to process this. "I seek to introduce my people, gradually, to the use of magics and alchemy. I've little interest in having my kind wield it in battle - instead, I believe it could be used for things such as mending the wounded or aiding the ill. By the end of my reign I cling onto the hope that the future generations will possess the knowledge to competently wield such a wonderful power." Zitos took a breath. "Unfortunately, a majority of my people are quite stubborn and bound to tradition. And even I can not force them to take on new ideals and methods. But, I firmly believe that they will eventually come to crave this knowledge that we have ignored for far too long." 'Perhaps he is uncertain of what to show us?' The king released a quiet and contemplative hum. "I believe I witnessed a mage produce a small and controlled ball of light when I was little more than a prince. They used it to replace a lamp, and it hovered above their very palm - like a helpful faerie might. If my velocity starts to make you sweat then just don't let go Fidgeting a bit more on the Obsidian Tower. He processed everything the king was saying, nodding along. He looked at the gold shoulderpiece, using it as a means to concentrate, losing his gaze within its glorious shine. He knew that much about the Zora. He knew some about their culture. But what really surprised him was what kind of magic that Zitos was looking for. Utility magic? Most people only wanted battle magic, it was all they ever read about. But here, one of the most martial kings, was asking for more utility magic. It was only when he had asked Jace to perform a certain time of spell that he was finally brought back from losing himself in his gold. Turning it back to steel, Jace replaced it and shook his head. "Ah... no. Sorry." He never thought he needed it, but now he realized just how utterly embarrassing that must have sounded, especially to a king who considered it some of the most simple of spells. Frowning, Jace chewed his lip for a moment. "I never bothered to learn that." He held up two fingers, each with black nail polish, "I learned two different abilities; alchemy and enchantment." He considered them far more useful naturally. One helped him keep Hyrule's economy going, and the other helped keep the Hylian Knights armed with cutting edge arms. "I couldn't conjure a ball of light to replace a lamp, but I could enchant a lamp to never stop burning or even change the color of its flame." He continued, his stutter and nervousness notably disappearing. It seemed that once he got onto a subject he actually knew, he could actually talk about it rather well. "For example, I enchanted my staff to allow flight." He seemed real happy about that one. Dweeb. @zitos [googlefont=Oswald]
