[attr="class","resetapptitle1"]BIOGRAPHY
[attr="class","resetapptext"]For untold ages, the Hylians and the Humans have coexisted in peace despite their differences. This hasn't changed in the past century, even as the Hylians slowly dwindle and the Humans overtake them - even in days like this, there exists little enmity between the two. When the magically-proficient and prestigious Hylians and the well-rounded Humans come together, the results of their mutual endeavor can be like a magic all of its' own. Yugo was the result of a Hylian woman and a Human man finding their spark for one another, and deciding that they wanted to bring another little flame of life into the world together.
There was just one little problem - said little flame of a child couldn't use magic worth a damn.
The kid had the pointy ears, the fair skin, the dashing charisma, everything one would regularly expect of one of the goddesses' chosen race - everything except proficiency in magic. No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't find his flow with the stuff. Being raised in a predominantly magic-oriented society, this made Yugo the subject of much juvenile ridicule from his peers for the majority of his life. Feeling snubbed and ostracized, he turned a cold shoulder to those who would judge somebody on something as shallow as magical affinity alone, and signed up for the Wardens as soon as he could, looking to emulate his father. He wasn't the strongest - and he definitely wasn't going to be doing anything stunningly magical any time soon, but he had something almost as good as muscles or magic.
He had something to prove! If he couldn't learn how to shoot fire from his hands, he would find a way to throw fire himself. Who needed to shape rock and earth out of the way, when a bomb could do just the same! If he couldn't use magic, then he would shoot for something more suitable - he'd make his own sort of magic happen, and use it as a tool on his way to becoming the best damn swordsman Hyrule had ever seen. Joining the Wardens was just the first step, learning swordplay, footwork, and survival skills for living off the land. And when he had gleaned everything he figured was useful from them, he set out into the world on his own, aiming to make himself a living as a bounty hunter.
What else would one call somebody who went head-hunting dangerous threats to the locals, while scavenging for bits and pieces of possibly-magical junk? "Half-Blooded Jack-Of-All-Trades Aspiring Blademaster with an interest in Artifacts" didn't exactly roll off the tongue. It was a means to keep himself fed, see the world, and find anything that might aid him on his quest - he had heard more than enough tales from villagers about strange things popping up in graveyards at night, or the kind of things those strange rock-people up on Death Mountain could craft with the most obscure and surprising ingredients. His most favourite sort of tale, by far, was the one that made any mention of strange masks that were said to have all sorts of strange powers, able to twist and shape people into different forms. Those were the ones that always stuck with him, and even in his early twenties he still entertains the thought of going out and finding one of these mythical masks for himself - even if others dismiss them as nonsensical stories.

[attr="class","resetapptitle1"]WEAPONS
[attr="class","resetapptext"]Magic Sword: A sword enchanted with a meager amount of magic, kept from Yugo's brief time in the Wardens. While it functions admirably as a mundane blade, the magic that it was forged with has taken a strange turn - It doesn't always... Well. Work. More often than not, it ends up leaving Yugo ineffectively swinging his sword at a distant target and looking like a loon. Despite this, he affectionately continues to carry the sword with him, either because he's sentimental... Or because he's too lazy to get a replacement.
[attr="class","resetapptitle1"]ITEMS
[attr="class","resetapptext"]Headband: A plain, mundane headband of durable grey cloth. It doesn't bear any markings beyond a few knicks and cuts, and it has no magical properties to it, but it has sentimental value to Yugo. He keeps it mostly as a memento for why he keeps going forward day-by-day, donning it when he's preparing to dive into a fight, or wrapping it around his arm when it's not otherwise needed. If asked about it, he'll say it was a gift from a friend - but he won't elaborate any further.
[attr="class","resetapptitle1"]MAGIC
[attr="class","resetapptext"]Hookshot: This device is something that Yugo rigged up over the course of a few years, in his spare time. Outwardly, it looks like a cylinder of navy-blue metal, with a semi-circular handle crafted of dull grey metal wrapped in wire and leather on one end, and tipped at the other end with a metallic fixture like the end of a harpoon. On the handle is a small ring-trigger that, when squeezed, uses a compressed spring and pneumatic pressure to launch the harpoon or "hook" out on a heavy-duty chain; when the ring is pushed forward with the user's finger, the chain is reeled back into the cylinder, re-setting the launching mechanism and locking the hook back into place. The hookshot's purpose is as a mechanically-assisted grappling hook, able to pull the wielder towards something, or reel something in towards them. It does have some downsides, though. The chain doesn't have infinite length - the range is only about twenty yards or so. As well, the hookshot isn't foolproof - if it can't embed the hook into something, it can't pull it towards the wielder/pull the wielder to it. With more experience, Yugo might be able to bring it to bear as a viable weapon in its' own right - but at the moment, it's primarily a tool for exploration and retrieval, not something to go into a duel with.
