[/b] Hi, if you have no idea how this is going to work, read this. The admin posts especially. As the sun began to creep over Ordon village, bathing it in its golden light, the silence was palpable. Normally one could hear the sounds of the goats and the roosters. They would be accompanied by the chatter of the earliest risers, but this time, things were far too quiet. Only the light wind and the flowing water of the little river that passed through the village could be heard. It was as if this area had been completely abandoned, and nothing lived here. Which was true. Well, now, anyway. It would be the treehouse in which a Hylian lived that one would notice the first clue that things were... off. Namely that chunks of it were missing, as well as the tree proper. No debris could be found on the ground. It was as if the roof of the house had melted away. Several holes in its exterior also had the same such appearance. The village proper was no different. The various buildings and shops were all missing large chunks of their structures, but they were nowhere to be found in the surrounding area. The ranch met the same fate, with the barn featuring several new holes in its roof and walls. There was nothing to indicate a fire. No smoke, nothing. It was as if someone had just wantonly melted the village away, leaving nothing behind, but that was nothing compared to the eeriness of the simple truth. There were no people there. It was as if they had all up and left in the middle of the night. No corpses, no blood, no signs of struggle. It was as if they had all decided, as one, to simply get up and leave and take nothing with them. Even the animals, including the goats, seemed to have all vanished. However, the village wasn't totally empty. A strange creature, towering over the buildings sifted through the remains of the village, its flat, black arm probing through the various holes punctured in the structure, peeking here and there, as if looking for any stragglers. It almost seemed as if it was made of paper, but no one could mistake it for anything but a monster. An unusual monster, unlike anything seen in Hyrule, but a monster perhaps. However, for a moment, it seemed rather docile, content to simply dig through the village as if looking for food. Was it this creature that caused all this damage? Zelda's chest tightened with anxiety as she gazed upon the eldritch creature, one of her hands hovering over heart as if to still its frenzied beating. A bated breath crossed her delicately painted lips. Her intuition told her that this was the creature she'd set off in search of, having requested a trustworthy knight or two to accompany her as her royal guard. Yet, seeing it here and now gave her pause. She stood what she felt was a conservative distance away to avoid drawing attention to herself, idly watching the creature in wonder. At this crucial moment, she found herself reluctant to engage it. A part of her couldn't help but speculate. What if this creature wasn't the culprit, attention grabbing as it was? Furthermore, what if it was too much for her? Its large presence seemed to hint at a power she wasn't confident she could identify, let alone outdo.
Perhaps if she were patient her choices would become more clear. Seeing as no person was in immediate danger, she felt more comfortable taking her time to analyze the situation. She could only hope that if it did happen to notice her that the amount of distance she'd put between herself and the creature would serve to make her seem uninteresting. |

[googlefont=Open+Sans] 守りたいものを守れるのなら [attr="class","firstfriend"] すべてを受け入れて 未来(あした)を探す Dieter’s lips remained set in an atypical firm, thin line, contrary to his characteristically carefree, whimsical smirk. Fortunately, it still served its’ purpose of masking the ever-growing sensation of dread that had begun welling in the pit of his stomach; something was gravely amiss within Ordon Village. He’d momentarily parted ways with the Zora King, Zitos, in order to properly scout ahead; the Kings’ towering stature was a hindrance for such endeavors. In the midst of his sprinting through the brush, he’d carefully brandished his Deku Spear with a well-rehearsed motion, opting to angle it away from himself. By the time he’d reached the edge of the village, beads of sweat dripped from his brow; a sign that he’d yet to recover fully from his encounter with Selios. His dusky emerald eyes darted back and forth as he’d moved through the village, vigilantly scanning for any obvious threats. Strangely enough, he couldn’t detect any, nor could he detect more than a singular person nearby when he’d utilized Dryad’s Domain . Could that be the perpetrator? No, it was unlikely due to the fact that a singular person couldn’t have cleaned out an entire village without a single altercation; nor could they dispose of the bodies with such precision.
“ What happened here? “
Dieter wondered aloud, his voice soft and barely audible above the diminutive howl as the breeze trickled through the numerous holes left in the surrounding buildings.

The Hylian Knight Captain himself stepped out from behind obstacles and shadows nearer to the Princess herself. He was fully suited and booted in his bluish tinted armor, complete with the trademarked Hylian shield on his left arm and his sheathed sword & scabbard tucked between arm and shield. Keldric idly carried his helmet in his right hand, ready to throw it in it need be but seemed at ease, despite the incredibly hulking and towering mass of darkness. His gaze was set into a steely straight one, watching the surroundings as much as his charge. The giant monster seemed to be the only one in the vicinity. "I left Armanos to guard the way in, Your Highness." He spoke to Zelda with relative quietness. So not to call attention of the creature. "We would be hard pressed to attack it head on. Our best bet would be to find a weak point or somehow cut it down to size. That is my professional opinion."Keldric placed the helm into his head and tightened a few things so it wouldn't fall off willy nilly, yet he left the visor up. He definitely looked ready to do battle, but would wait for the monstrosity to become hostile or if he found a weakness to turn their current disadvantage into an advantage. Regardless, the knight started moving again, to circle around the Princess to scan the opposite side of the area. The Princess' safety was his top priority after all. Princess Zelda

Ashenne, complete in her stunning crimson armor, had trudged the long way from Hyrule Castle Town to Ordon Village to make sure the princess would be safe in the current situation. A monster had previously appeared in the forest, and now there was one hovering over Ordon... or... what was left of Ordon. Ashenne's helm hid the horror her face showed. "Where is everyone?" she commented, noting the silence in the air. She cleared her throat and approached Keldric and gave a swift nod to the Princess. "Ready when you are," she almost stammered as she gripped her lance in her hands. She'd do as her commander told her, it was her job as a Knight. Even if she was kind of scared out of her wits. She'd never show that though... notes: ditching the post template for swiftness! o7 @keldric Princess Zelda

[/b] The first round has begun. Here are the rules; you have 48 hours to post. There is NO POSTING ORDER. If you fail to meet the deadline with no reason beforehand, you get a strike. Two strikes and you'll be ICly removed from the thread, which can be painful depending on when you struck out and under what circumstances. So from here on, the round will reset in 48 hours, most likely on the clock (so I guess you have an extra ten or so minutes this round). With the arrival of the Princess and the Knights well, Ziegess didn't take that too kindly. A few seconds passed as it sifted through Ordon before its gaze finally rested on the three. With almost a winding sound, it let out a deep, low screech, almost like a low horn being blasted throughout the area. Its blue eyes turned red as if on alert, and it began to move in an almost erratic way. Namely, its form thinned as it sprouted upwards, one arm latching onto the remaining roof of one of the many houses, the other moving to its opposite and, after melting a hole into it, latched its other arm onto a nearby cliff. Its body changed shape, forming a large circle over the three knights, blotting out the sun and leaving them in the darkness. Its eight eyes sifting through the black mass to ring near the edges of the circle. Protrusions began to emerge from the underside of the black circle, changing and warping to form pointed edges over the course of a few seconds, all aimed straight down. Whether it fired or merely released, all that was clear was that black spikes, each as large as a dagger's blade and as thin as the branch of a sapling, were now raining down, heading straight for the three knights to attempt a quick end. It would defend itself. After all, there were only three of them~ Princess Zelda @keldric Dieter Wolfram Link Ashenne [/font][/ul][/div][/blockquote][/td][td] A B A N D O N E D

[googlefont=Open+Sans] 守りたいものを守れるのなら [attr="class","firstfriend"] すべてを受け入れて 未来(あした)を探す In that instance, time felt as if it had begun to slow as the Deku’s heart throbbed erratically, his pulse quickening as he was consumed by the thrall of the inevitable battle that was laid bare before him. He’d caught a momentary glimpse of Ziegess’ amorphic silhouette as it slunk purposefully from building to building, silently encroaching upon the lone presence that he’d detected just a split-second prior. Whatever this creature was, it was unquestionably predatory in nature and they’d made the mistake of entering its’ newly conquered domain; their presence wasn’t welcomed. His thought was reinforced as Ziegess voiced its’ distain in the form of a low, deafening screech that echoed throughout the remnant of Ordon Village. The Deku didn’t hesitate to throw himself against the side of the building, flattening himself as Ziegess traversed utilizing the rooftops as platforms. Its’ once azure eyes turning an enraged red as its’ body began to contort. Its’ vaguely humanoid body turned into a large circle that hovered in the air. Its’ body mutated grotesquely as a series of protrusions emerged on its’ underside, rapidly extending into a series of innumerable bladed constructs. Some of which began to fall towards the unsuspecting combatants below.
Dieter’s eyes narrowed as Link’s hushed whisper caused him to swing his spear around, the edge of which would hover mere centimeters away from Link’s throat. He’d recognized the voice, yet out of instinct brandished his weapon reflexively. He gave an apologetic smile as he lowered his blade back towards the ground and shrugged his shoulders in response to Link’s inquiry. Dieter was just as clueless as him when it came to the origin and nature of the phantasmal beast.
“ I am uncertain.. but we have to help them.”
Dieter said softly before he pivoted on his heel and vaulted himself through an open window of the nearby building. He quickly moved throughout and stood in one of eroded holes. He extended his hand outwards to detect which way the winds’ were flowing. One could also see that a series of grotesque bulges began to form along his arms as he began to generate roughly five Deku Nuts, covering each with a thick layer of sap. He used his blade to work a loosened brick free and used the still sticky sap to mount each of the seeds across the top of the brick. He teasingly hefted the brick up and down testing its’ weight.
“ SCATTER, ADVERT YOUR GAZE.”
Dieter shouted, fully revealing his presence to Ziegess as he pulled a odd looking mask from his satchel. When it slid down over his face, he felt an euphoric rush of power spreading through his veins. One could see Dieter’s fist clench as he threw the brick into the air. His spear falling to the ground as his fist thrusted forward and collided with the brick. When they contacted with another, a concussive force equivalent to that of a bomb went off and shot the brick forward, albeit destroying a large portion of it. The Deku Seeds didn’t detonate though, fortunately the thick mass of surrounding sap absorbed the vibration. However, the makeshift projectile flew forward with a direct course to the falling daggers. He’d prayed that when it came in contact with one of them that it would detonate and knock the rest astray and temporarily blind Ziegess. Dieter himself flew backwards crashing into the banister of the stairs that lead downwards. His shoulder pulsating with red hot pain as he stumbled shakingly forward to grab his discarded spear. ✉ | Sorry it's short, first post in a bit. |

The creature began to move and spread itself over the sun. Darkness enveloped them and Ashenne gulped. She clutched her lance a bit tighter and moved to step between the Princess and just a bit behind Keldric. As the creature readied its... things, Ashenne took on a battle stance. Her helmet covered her face already and her armor was thick so she wasn't so worried about herself... but she didn't know how sharp those barbs were. Her main priority was to keep the Princess safe. Well, and now a civilian too. Dieter performed a flashy trick which made her squint her eyes and look away.
"Did it work?" she asked quietly in a breathy whisper. This creature was huge, slightly intimidating and obviously dangerous. If she had an opening, she'd use it to leap in the air and stab that thing with her Crimson Tide.

"Thank you, Knight-Captain." Zelda softly replied, glancing at Ashenne just long enough to think better about answering the other's question. She had this awful feeling the monster they were looking at may have eaten everyone, in whatever sense of the word applied to a creature with no readily apparent mouth, and somehow doubted that sharing this suspicion would do anyone any good. The princess' body tensed in horror as the eldritch creature turnedd to confront the group. She couldn't be sure, bizarre almost alien physiology and all, but she was getting a pretty strong feeling from that body language that they were about to be attacked. Any sense of patience had to be abandoned on the spot, as they were now in combat. Thankfully, she was quickly reminded of the fortitude of the fine men and women at her side. She felt a lot better just knowing that she wasn't alone, even if she had no concept of how much abuse this creature could take.
Zelda began preparing her Twilight Bow, the ornate golden bow slipping into her arms as she made the likely wise decision not to use the royal longsword on an enemy like this. All other factors aside, it was simply too big! A sword, or any close ranged weapon, would be at an extreme range disadvantage. Ignoring this would recklessly put herself in danger. Before she could give out orders though, deku demanded her attention. Given that this was a battlefield and not at all the time for most formalities, she obliged his request without hesitation. ...And good thing too! Zelda looked up to observe the results of his actions, her bow now fully at the ready and her sword safely holstered. "We need to stay on the move!" she calmly but authoritatively instructed in spite of her racing heart. |

A cursory glance was given to the other Hylian Knight that arrived on scene. With but a look Keldric could tell it wasn't Armanos, instead it was Dame Ashenne. He didn't recall assigning her to the protection detail of Her Royal Highness, so it was likely she came of her own accord. It was of no consequence, as more skilled individuals at hand were better in the situation they seemed to be in. There were others present to deal with the monstrosity but there Knight-Captain paid them little mind. He knew nothing of their prowess so knew not to depend on them. It would come down to himself and Ashenne to deal with the creature, perhaps even the Princess but he wasn't considering that madness. That situation being the creature suddenly turning hostile on them. Keldric wasted no time in flipping his facial visor down, bringing his shield up in a defensive position and drawing his sword, Oathkeeper, from its scabbard. Immediately it gave off as luminous white glow, an illumination which rivaled the darkness that blanketed them. Though dark, Keldric's eyes caught the swift approach of harmful projectiles and he moved to place himself in front of the Princess and raised his shield up in accordance with a hasty prediction that the trajectory would cause them to impact with his shield. Though possibly a lesson in futility due to another individual's attempt to intercept the ranged attack but Keldric wasn't considering that, only insuring the Princess' safety. "I agree completely." He called over his shoulder, words slightly muffled by his visor. "Get her back, Ashenne. This thing is clearly dangerous and hostile toward us. " Now just need to figure a way to counterattack. By the Goddesses, how are we supposed to harm it? Princess Zelda Ashenne

[/b] The round has been reset. The next round will reset in 48 hours. Spikes began to slam into the ground with little more than thunks as they hit the dirt, before harmlessly melting away to rejoin the black mass of Ziegess. Dieter's improvisation, while definitely clever and definitely helpful, wasn't perfect. The brick slammed into one of the spikes and everything began to scatter. With some of the spikes being knocked away, it was unfortunately unable to knock them all away. Keldric's use of his shield would come in handy though, as the remaining spikes that would have pierced Zelda's fair skin instead slammed into, and partly through, the Hylian shield. Pointed barbs stuck through the metal, but they moved no further. It was clear though that these barbs could pierce steel however, which Ashenne would learn. Spikes rained down on her, but thanks to Dieter's intervention, only a couple tore through parts of her armor, leaving minor cuts on her arms and back. Blood began to flow, but it was nothing crippling. However, the flash itself seemed to do little, if anything other than catch the attention of Ziegess. Its eyes moved away from the outskirts towards the direction of Dieter, focusing all its attention on the new intruder. Pulling its arm out of the hole formed in the cliff, the black mass swung around at a frightening speed toward the building itself before slamming into the side. The mass began to shift again, this time spreading itself over the building itself and completely engulfing it in darkness. Its eyes began to move again as they sifted through the mass, each coming to stop on various holes in the structure before seeing the Deku moving towards his spear, letting out another low blast as it confirmed its target. Ignoring the Hylians, it began to press on the building itself. Dieter would be able to see the blackness slowly melting away the wood of the structure. It had the Deku trapped and it knew it. It would melt everything away and consume the building with time, and with the Deku surrounded only by Ziegess, it would only be a matter of time before Dieter was consumed as well. Despite the proximity, it seemed that it had yet to notice Link. All the while, its red eyes never moved, focusing on its newest prey. There was nothing that could steal your breath away like near death experience. Zelda had never witnessed metal simply being cut into like like some sort of shiny pie. Goddess pray she never had to witness what a blow like that would do to a body. Wrestling her composure back under control just as quickly as it had left, the flustered princess offered Keldric a softly spoken "Thank you" for his efforts. She simultaneously took a step back to get a much clearer angle and took aim with her bow, only to once again hesitate. This time, she'd taken notice of the fact that the creature wasn't paying attention to them anymore. If she attacked now, her priorities wouldn't be in order! She'd been given an opportunity to rethink her approach without fear of retaliation. ...Say, how were these knights supposed to fight this monster? She wouldn't dare instruct them to go at it with their swords. That was very clearly suicidal, and she wasn't having that. Perhaps it would be best if they continued biding their time for a better opportunity? She quickly assessed Ashenne's health at a glance. After determining that Ashenne was probably at least well off enough to walk, she issued her guidance.
"Let's take cover!" Zelda instructed. There were buildings about that they could hide behind, which would grant them a buffer between themselves and the monster at the very least. She didn't doubt that it could simply destroy some of the humble buildings if it wanted to, but it would have to do that before it could a clear view at whomever it was after. That could buy crucial seconds in a worst case scenario. Zelda herself would beckon the knights to follow her as she retreated behind an indistinct building, assuming they hadn't quickly found a hiding place of their own of course. Having everyone hide together wasn't the best idea, but it wasn't the worst either. Once Zelda was confident she could break line of sight to the monster in but a moment, she stepped just barely out of cover and began taking aim again. A magical arrow of solidified light formed at the tips of her fingers as she drew the string back, seemingly out of thin air. Its tip glew dimly with light magic. She took aim between the creature's shoulders, not that it was easy to miss a target that enormous. It was simply a force of habit to make every shot count. With only a moment's further delay, she let loose a light arrow at Ziegess! It soared through the air like a tiny bolt of light. With any luck, the kick its magical imbuement provided would be just the punch they needed to fell this monster--or at the very least buy that poor deku some time while they tried to think of a better plan.
Without even waiting to see the results of her shot, Zelda stepped back behind cover and hid. She was relying on what she heard to clue her in on whether it was effective or not. She also made a point to step away from the corner she'd just peaked out from without quite leaving its shadow. On the off chance it went after the building, she wanted a head start before it collapsed. She would silently gesture for any knights hiding with her to do the same, assuming she caught either of them failing to follow her example. |

[googlefont=Open+Sans] 守りたいものを守れるのなら [attr="class","firstfriend"] すべてを受け入れて 未来(あした)を探す Dieter’s cerulean eyes remained locked with Ziegress’ crimson eyes, nonverbally challenging its’ superiority as it surged forward. In the short time, it’d taken him to recover from the concussively backlash of his impromptu Flash grenade, Ziegess had launched itself in his direction. Its’ inky tendrils encircled the building, anchoring itself down as it quickly spread itself thinner to fully envelope the building he’d taken refugee within. Soon the Deku found himself plunged into abysmal darkness, outside noises muted by the protesting groans of the houses’ infrastructure and the periodic clatter of debris as it began to break down. Dieter used the eerie crimson light radiating from Ziegess’ numerous eyes to guide him towards his discarded spear. He shakily lowered himself to his knees as his alabaster fingers encircled the haft of his spear, a quick pivot of its’ length would seat it in between his shoulders. What was he doing? Why not brandish his precious spear? The answer was quite simple, his spear was considered an artifact of the Guard, its’ value was immeasurable due to its’ innate ability to negate magic. Instead, his hands disappeared into the folds of his robes, fishing for the twin-daggers that were concealed on the anterior portion of his thighs. He took care to silently withdraw them from their sheath, his concealed arms once again bulging grotesquely as he began to will his seeds and sap to coat the blades. By the time he’d withdrawn them, he’d already attached three Deku Nuts to each blade on their underside. He didn’t hesitate to whip the first dagger at the eye closest to him. That by itself would be useless, but before it impacted, Dieter already pitched the second dagger. His plan was for one to plunge into one of those crimson eyes, while the second would act as the detonator for all six of the Deku Nuts. Even if Ziegess devoured his beloved Bitter Rose, such a loss was trivial. He could also commission one of their skilled blade smiths to craft him another pair of daggers. At this point, Dieter elected to close his eyes, further embracing the darkness as he began to whisper a hushed incantation to himself.
”Dryad’s Domain
He whispered softly, his voice squarely audible to even himself. He immediately sent out innumerable seismic vibrations in order to not only understand the full extent of the damage that Ziegess had done to the house but to also search for any potential ways out such as a hidden cellar. Lastly, this allowed him to further track Ziegess, capable of detecting any planned ambush by utilizing his knowledge of the surrounding. He didn’t hesitate to inch his way back towards the stairwell. He knew Dryad’s Domain would only last for a few moments, but in a battle, it was those few precious seconds that could determine the victor of a battle.
