[attr="class","nerine"] A hush silence fell over the field, something that wasn't all that unusual for that time of night. She watched the sky from underneath a bush, seeking warmth from the crackling fire at her side and comfort from the starry sky above. Would a miracle truly happen if she counted every single one of them? Perhaps it was a childish belief, brought on by listening to the insect-loving princess from the city near the castle, but in that moment she clung to it with every fiber of her being. Maybe, just maybe, if she wished and believed and counted long enough, then... A puff-like sigh escaped her and she turned her attention back to the bonfire, presently used not only to battle the chill of the night but to roast the delicious vegetables and fruits she managed to purchase earlier. The fae poked at the wrapped parcel with her dinner until it freed itself from the coals, blowing profusely on it afterward to try cooling the edges enough to dive right in. "Should've made a stew with these." A bit late now, she supposed. The plump potato, haphazardly sliced onion, carrot chunks, and raspberry mush would keep her full until morning with or without the addition of a creamy stew base added to it. And if she was lucky, it'd give her enough energy to count all the stars in the sky before she fell asleep. @open! [googlefont=Open+Sans][newclass=.nerine b]color:#82CFFD;[/newclass]

初めまして。 A soft sigh escaped from between Dieter’s coral-hued lips as he quietly began gathering up his belongings, which he’d strewn about his room over the course of three days. Those three days had passed by in what felt like an instance, yet each one had been made memorable by a select encounter. On the first day, he’d made King Zitos, whom had indulged in his frivolously desires and take refugee within the recesses of his heart. It was odd to admit, Dieter felt a connection of sorts with the Zora leader, despite living vastly different life styles. Secondly, he’d met one of Hyrule’s few Archmagus, an eccentric man named Jace. Lastly, he’d encountered one of the Hylian’s defenders, Ashe, a knight of onyx and burgundy. He begrudgingly shook his head dismissing the thoughts as he tucked a trio of books into his satchel.
He glanced the room over one last time before he’d exited it and made his way to the Castle Gates. He gave a curt wave to the sentries assigned to duty, playfully brushing off their warnings about traveling at night. Despite, his outward appearance of a dancer, he was indeed a trained fighter. He reassured them by daringly hiking up the billowing white fabric of his robes, exposing the two daggers holstered on his hips. Their eyes widened in shock, unsure how long he’d brandished those daggers and more importantly that they’d never noticed he was armed over the course of three days. Dieter pivoted on his heel and began his trek back to the Deku Swamps.
Somewhere along the line, Dieter noticed the flickering form of a camp fire near the base of a tree. His curiosity and desire for freedom prompted him to investigate. Once he’d grown close enough, he noticed a petite blue-haired maiden in the midst of eating what appeared to be her dinner.
“Excuse me, would you mind if I joined you for a few minutes to rest my feet? I have a long journey ahead of me.”
Dieter quietly asked, standing at the edge of illuminating provided by her fire. His unruly, flaxen tresses that cascaded down his back freely. His attire was quite simple, a billowing white robe that was tied around his midsection with a vibrant burgundy ribbon. Oddly enough, if she looked closely enough, she’d likely notice that the youth standing before he wasn’t wearing any shoes.

[attr="class","nerine"] The footsteps of another should have alerted her of someone's presence, but with her mind a million miles away somewhere in her own little world, it wasn't a surprise that his voice startled her slightly. She raised her face, blinking owlishly at the newcomer to take in his appearance. He was, to put it bluntly, gorgeous. Hair and eyes that would make most of the castle town ladies jealous, clothing that flowed naturally over his form, and-- wait, why wasn't he wearing any shoes? Didn't it hurt his feet to walk barefoot over the grass and stones? "Nope!" Judging by the way she smiled cheerfully while speaking, a correction would follow it quickly. And so it did. "I mean, I don't mind at all!" In the firelight, her cheeks colored a soft hue, and she quickly patted the ground to indicate that company was more than welcome at that particular moment in time. Glancing down at her lap, she paused for only a moment before offering up the roasted meal. "Are you hungry? There's, uhm... there's plenty to share. If you don't mind this sort of food, that is." 初めまして。 Dieter’s gaze lingered on Nerine silently studying her features when they were illuminated by the quavering, ravenous flames. He couldn’t resist the urge to chuckle at her flustered antics, vividly recalling his encounter with the Zora’s leader, King Zitos. Subconsciously, his left hand drifted up to his new pendant, the tips of his fingers gingerly tracing the depiction of a dolphin. His own cheeks grew flush as the sensation of phantasmal fingers slid tenderly along his cheek. How strange, Dieter internalized, honestly shocked by how often his thoughts turned to the Zora’s King. His right hand bunched up the fabric of his robe as he lowered himself to the ground, his legs purposefully tucked behind him off to the side. He simply shook his head in response to Nerine’s offer to share her food, he’d eaten prior to packing up to his room.
“Thank you, but I am not particularly hungry. I ate before I departed Castle Town. Would you like some bread though?”
Dieter inquired, his soft voice resonated over the melodic crackling of the fire. He didn’t await a response as he fished around inside of his satchel for a moment or two, retrieving a small bundle of cloth. He set it on his lap as he undid the neat knot that kept its’ contents secure and prevented it from getting crushed. Aside from a small loaf of wheat bread, there was also a handful of an assortments of berries that he’d picked the night prior. He placed the parcel on the ground.
“Where are my manners? I never introduced myself… My name is Dieter, what may I ask is yours?”
Dieter inquired with genuine curiosity. Of course, that wasn’t the only question on his mind. Yet, he felt it would be rude to bombard her with too many questions at once. He was quite curious to what she was doing outside in the Hyrule Plains at such a late hour. He knew firsthand that after the sunset, the Hyrulan Plains became the playground of creatures of the night. Sometimes, it was nothing more than a mischievous Poe, whom would harass travelers; albeit some of their kind were notably more malicious. He’d also heard rumors of the undead rising, their true threat lied in the fact they weren’t deterred by pain; they no longer felt it. It was a shame though, due to their presence, one couldn’t truly savor the beauty of the night.

[attr="class","nerine"] Bread! How long had it been since she tasted bread? Wild vegetables and fruit were easy enough to procure, but things like bread, honey, and milk--the best things in life!--were much more difficult to retrieve. Mostly because they, sadly, cost a fair bit amount of rupees, and she was the sort who didn't carry any such thing on her person. Hmm, something she should probably start reconsidering... for emergencies, at least. Yes, emergencies. Because resorting to petty thievery for bread and honey and milk would be an absolute shame, oh yes it would! "Oh, no, I couldn't possibly..." The words that fell from her lips hardly matched her actions, because the moment she spotted the delicious bread folded up neatly in a small cloth bundle, her mouth started to salivate and her hands started to move. By the time she trailed off, the blue-haired fae already broke off a sizeable piece and propped it into her mouth, an all too happy smile on her face. One could practically see a little heart floating by her head due to the sheer glee she radiated. Instead of offering up some sort of apology for the mismatch, she focused on spreading a bit of the berry much on what remained of her taken piece and hummed lightly. "Dieter? That's a very nice name you have there! Mine's Nerine, just like the flower~" A point of pride, it seemed, to be named after something so lovely. After swallowing, she leaned in a bit closer and tilted her head to the side, the visible blue eye dancing in firelight. "But, Dieter, you're too... you're too pretty to be traveling at night alone. You'd be the perfect target for brigands and ruffians! They'd snatch you up and try to sell you, and you'd be worth a lot!" 初めまして。 Dieter’s impish smile remained as Nerine began salivating, her hands creeping forward inch by inch towards his offering. She was quite the oddity, wasn’t she? From what he’d observed, her words recurrently conflicted with her actions. No doubt, it was a bit strange, yet at the same time it gave the charismatic, cerulean-haired fae, a unique charm and allure. Dieter subconsciously reached up, one of his spindly alabaster fingers busying itself with tucking a few of his stray, flaxen tresses behind his ears. He listened to Nerine’s objection trail off indefinitely as she broke off a sizeable chunk of the bread, quickly popping a piece of it into her mouth. He briefly noticed Nerine’s genuine smile as he craned his head backwards, gazing upon the heavens. How beautiful , Dieter mused to himself as he admired the numerous stars that dotted the sky. It was hard to describe, but somehow, they looked different out on the vast expanses of the Hylian Plains versus the depths of the Deku Swamp.
His attention returned to Nerine as she began spreading some of previously offered berry mush onto what remained of the bread she’d taken. His cheeks reddened ever so at Nerine’s compliment, his embarrassment passed in entirety by the time she’d introduced herself. The woman before him took such pride in her name, Dieter couldn’t bring himself to ask what type of flower a Nerine was. Sadly, he’d likely never know if he remained within the Deku Swamp because that particular type of flower thrived in rocky, arid environments. After she’d swallowed the remainders of the bread, Nerine leant closer and allowed her head to crane to the side. He found himself blushing for a second time, caught off guard by Nerine’s compliment and concern for his wellbeing.
“I am touched by your concern, but they’d have to be wary of my thorns.”
Dieter’s playful wording was explained by Dieter hiking up his robes, until one the leather holster near his hip was visible to Nerine. He’d aptly named his precious twin daggers, Bitter Rose , they were his metaphorical thorns. Not to mention, the petite youth sitting before her was in actuality one of the Deku Palace Guards. He’d been trained in combat for the past thirteen years of his life. Despite his lithe build, he was a competent warrior. What he lacked in brute strength, he compensated by fleetfooted and utilizing the full arsenal of abilities unique to those of his kind. “What about you Nerine, aren’t you worried?”
He asked, he hadn’t noticed if she had any form of weapon within her possession.

[attr="class","nerine"] The dagger, hidden in a very hard to spot place if she did say so herself, provided a fair bit of protection, even if it didn't seem like it'd be something a person could quickly retrieve if they were caught by surprise. Dieter's size wasn't great nor did he seem to possess an overly muscular build. Agility and dexterity might be talents he had rather than raw physical prowess. "Weeeeeell..." Growing thoughtful, she tapped her finger against her cheek three times. "I'm not terrible with a bow. I've got one, it's just... er... broke right now. Very broke. In lots of little pieces. Complete accident, I assure you! It had nothing to do with me rolling into a stream and hitting it against several rocks on the way down, no siree!" Looking back at that incident, she really should've just turned small to save herself some dignity and a few bruises. Bruises, at least, were easy to cover. Pride? Not so much. "But I'm not worried at all. I've got a few tricks up my sleeve to save me if I'm ever in a pinch." The blue-haired female clapped her hands together in front of her chest. As she did so, a faint light began to glow from her palms, sparks of glitter-like substance falling down to the ground and vanishing from near her wrists. The light faded when she pulled her hands back. Hrm, healing magic would probably not really save her in a pinch since it meant she'd be injured first. Flying away sounded like a much better plan. "I'm on my way to... um..." Nerine looked around, then pointed off in the distance. "To Kariko! That's the village in the mountain area place, isn't it?"Geography had never been her strong point. Or remembering location names, apparently. Dieter Wolfram[googlefont=Open+Sans][newclass=.nerine b]color:#82CFFD;[/newclass]

初めまして。 Nerine’s newest story undoubtedly made it impossible for Dieter to maintain a straight face, his aquamarine eyes widened in a mixture of both surprise and disbelief. His jaw dropping a fraction of an inch as Nerine began to self-rationalize that she still possessed a weapon, despite her bow allegedly being broken into innumerable pieces. How did that equate to having a weapon? He failed to wrap his mind around that thought before Nerine’s story continued. His thoughts immediately slid wayward as she’d mentioned she’d fallen into a stream, crashed into several rocks, and still told the tale merrily. His jaw threatened to gape even further in disbelief, but he willed himself to close his lips and give her a curt smile. She is an odd one to say the least , Dieter internalized as he fought back the urge to chuckle at her antics and misfortune.
Nerine went on to exclaim that she wasn’t worried about the potential risk of bandits, vagabonds, and monsters that reigned supreme in the night. She clapped her hands together in front of her chest, muttering about how she had a few tricks up her sleeve to help her out of a pinch. He had his initial doubts, which she laid to rest as she materialized a small sphere in her hand. The light pulsated periodically spurting out uncontrolled sparks that quickly turned into a glittery substance. Whatever it was, it faded away quickly enough, disappearing by the time it neared her wrists. “What was that?”
Dieter inquired, uncertain of the orbs’ purpose. Dieter craned his head to follow Nerine’s finger as she pointed off into the horizon. He inched a little closer before reaching up to gently grasp her dainty wrist. His grip remained slack enabling her to pull away freely at any second. However, he adjusted her arm shifting it a few degrees to the left so that it rested on a distant mountain range.
“ It is indeed in the mountains, my fair lady.”
He said softly as he released her and slid back to his original position. He absentmindedly grabbed some a couple nearby twigs and threw them into the fire, admiring the beauty of sparks and embers.
“ I am headed back to the Deku Swamp.”
He exclaimed as he used the last twig to poke at some of the smoldering ember.

[attr="class","nerine"] She didn't appear to mind the slightest at Dieter delicately wrapping his fingers around her wrist to adjust her direction, murmuring a low 'oooh' in response to being pointed more accurately. With any luck, she'd be able to make it to Kariko (that didn't sound quite right in her mind but she didn't feel like trying to remember the actual name) quicker than initially planned. It'd be good to have her bow looked at--or get a new one--and look around that area a little for the lost Kokiri child. A lifetime of wandering. Drifting from place to place, always looking. The ending of the story could only be one of two things. Either she found what she had lost... or she eventually faded into obscurity as the failure she found herself to be. "The swamp, huh? Never been there myself. Always figured I would! It's got to have a lot of really cool stuff there, like... like... flowers and water, and... um... other stuff..." Come to think of it, she really didn't know anything about the swamp other than the few whispers she used to hear from forest children, speaking of poisonous water and insects so large that they could carry away a small animal without much difficulty. If they could go for a dog or cat, they'd most likely gobble a little fae up in one bite. Noooo thank you! Belatedly, she drew her hands back together and cupped them in front of her chest. A blue orb rose, more pronounced and pulsating stronger than the previous flicker of light that ghosted across her skin. It moved slowly around her fingers, and when she touched it, the entire thing jiggled as if filled with water. A bit of glitter fell from it when she plucked it from thin air and offered it out to Dieter. Should he take it, it felt almost like holding exactly that--a ball of water. Somehow wet and slightly warm at the same time, yet easy to hold without fear of dropping. "It lights the way. I guess it isn't that impressive, heh, but I like it. It's something I can do comfortably. There's not a lot I can do, so it's nice to be useful in some way." She shifted her position, bringing her knees towards her chest to prop her elbows on them, using the back of her hands as a cushion for her chin. "Well, and it looks cool. Gotta get points for that~" Dieter Wolfram[googlefont=Open+Sans][newclass=.nerine b]color:#82CFFD;[/newclass]

[googlefont=Open+Sans] 守りたいものを守れるのなら [attr="class","firstfriend"] すべてを受け入れて 未来(あした)を探す Nerine’s expressed naivety possessed an endearing charm off its’ one, one that effortlessly managed to coax a wistful smile from Dieter along with a brief bout of uninhibited laughter. He couldn’t fault her for her lack of knowledge, the Deku Swamp was seldom explored by even the hardiest and seasoned of adventurers; albeit their reasonings were sound. In spite of the Deku Swamps’ breathtaking beauty, it was laden with innumerous hidden dangers, ranging from its’ deadly waters, its’ poisonous insects, and feral wildlife. He wholeheartedly believed that even the Deku, whom inhabited its’ depths were not privy to all of its’ hidden secrets; a thought that only ignited his suppressed sense of wanderlust.
“My Lady, you are correct. It has many such beautiful things. However, its’ depths hide many secrets and dangers.”
Dieter replied softly, his tone remained jovial until he warned Nerine about the potential dangers. His head craned to the side as Nerine brought her cupped hands together in front of her chest, what was the aqua-tressed maiden doing? He didn’t have to wait long for his answer as a pale, robin’s egg glow began to emanated from between the minute gaps of her fingers. The light shaped itself into an orb, the construct pulsating as it began to slowly inch along her fingers. When Nerine touched the orb, it jiggled as if it were a rich man’s desert or perhaps filled with water. His eyes widened as glitter fell from its’ surface as she plucked it from the air to offer it to him. He eyed it cautiously for a second before he extended his hands and gently grasped the orb, unsure if it would burst the moment he touched it. Strangely enough, the orb felt firmer than he’d have imagined, it was also slightly damp and radiated an unexpected sensation of warmth. If he had to liken it to something, its’ warmth reminded of the feeling deep in his chest when he’d embraced the Zora King, Zitos. His cheeks flushed a faint crimson at that thought.
The Fae went on to explain the obvious, this orb acted as a source of light, going on to belittle it’s worth; the ability to utilize magic was highly revered throughout Hyrule. Even if she was only capable of minute parlor tricks, no different from that of a street magician. Dieter’s lips curved downwards as she went on to belittle herself, thinking that she wasn’t useful in any other manner He remained quiet for the time being, silently observing her as she shifted her position. She brought her knees to her chest, resting her elbows upon them and using the back of her hands to cradle her chin.
“Ye shouldn’t belittle yourself Mi’ Lady, you are quite brave for traversing the Plains at night, and you are capable of casting the Goddesses’ blessings. You are far more capable than you think.”
Dieter said adamantly, his conviction betraying that he truly believed the words that he’d uttered. He knew that not everyone was cut out to be a warrior of caliber, nor was everyone gifted as a dancer such as himself; the fact remained that everyone was useful in their own way.
“Perhaps if you’d like Mi’ Lady, I can provide you with some lessons on how to use a dagger or a short sword. I believe that either would pair well with the fact you can use a bow.”
He extended the offer as an attempt at kindling a friendship, not to mention he felt like her possessing such skills would aid her vastly. If he hadn’t already seen that she was capable of lighting a fire of her own, he’d probably would of tried to force basic survival skills upon her as well, but he could make such an offer at a later time.
“What do you say Mi’lady?”
Dieter inquired curiously. Uncertain if the Fae would accept his offer or politely decline. [googlefont=Montserrat][newclass=.firstfriend]z-index:2; position: relative;[/newclass]

The goddesses blessings. No matter how she twisted those words in her mind, she most certainly liked the charm they had in comparison to her own views and beliefs toward the powers she was born with, fostered further by her own determination and dedication.
Those blue orbs of her danced ever so brightly in the firelight. "I'd like that a lot," came the simple reply, lacking the same beautiful flowery speech of the deku. What she lacked in prose, she made up for in utter honesty.
And true to her word, she did seem to enjoy it. Enough to, in the near future when she found herself in Kakariko Village, pause at a stand and abandon her shattered bow in favor of a small knife that she could wield much more effectively than the former weapon she attempted to use.
