Well he was only alone for the moment. The truth was Lycoris had bailed on him momentarily as she wanted to go get something from one of the caravans. Ain't no one gonna tie her down, she went where she wanted, fairy and all. He just chalked it up to her being a big girl and knowing when it's time to go. He agreed that he'd wait a bit while she went off and did her thing, lest she not be able to find him and get herself eaten by a wolfos or something. He wasn't sure how they'd do that, or if they'd even want to. At worst, she'd turn small and then would they even bother with it? At least he knew that Zelda was going to be fine. They'd be at the capital soon enough.

So he simply moved over to sit his ass down under a tree and wait it out. This was going to take a while, he had a feeling, so he might as well get comfortable. Fortunately, the shade covered him entirely, so he wouldn't be waiting under the sun. Summer was coming to an end and Fall was right around the corner, but it was still far hotter than it had any right to be. So for now, he simply made himself comfortable, staring at the grass beneath him, watching as the breeze came through and gave the grass a gentle push, causing the blades to bend just slightly.

And then he saw the shadow move. Alex didn't really react, but he stared right at it. It was clear that he saw it move. He just figured that it was Midna, nothing more, having come to hook back up with him from wherever she'd gone. "Oh, you're back already?" To be honest, he'd expected her to be doing her thing a bit longer, connect with her people, but this was fine too. Should he introduce Midna to Lycoris? That might be a bad idea. Really with Ashei's reaction it seemed she'd be getting a lot of heat in the future.
